Rudi, you're quick :)

Just picked 1 of my tuned vipers and made a quick setup.
Will try it out in the next race on Suzuka in 5 minutes.
 
My very first race against other GTP'ers and I got hit from behind 3 times the very first 10-20 sec. :ouch:

I did have one in front of me ramming Sjaak and I unfortunately clipped him at the esses and his race was over .. and then the real race continued ;)
 
Getting used to a big left hand drive car sure takes time after you raced a small right hand drive car :)
I'm enjoying the Viper much more, since Elises can't bump you off the road with the same ease that they bump off an S2000.
But I noticed with the Viper that it's important to brake before the corner, because otherwise you'll just understeer right off.
This creates the problem of running into people who are going slower in the corner.
You have to choose to bump them a bit or brake and run (too) wide.
 
Wow I just had a wicked race with Papa from GTRP at Suzuka PP700 👍 we were out on our own for the last 2 laps but it was swapping the lead all the way to the line with not one contact ;) Great battle that ended .2 apart ... Cheers Papa :cheers:

Just raced him too. Good racer.

He beat me by 2.4 seconds though... :D

EDIT: That was a wee bitty ambitious, Bert! :D

The only time i could gain time on you is when you made a mistake, otherwise you were quicker.

Oh, in that race i outbraked both the GT-R's behind me in the first corner of Suzuka.
1 was just behind and 1 was passing me.
I braked so late and so little that i had to drive on the outside of the complete corner on the edge of the kitty litter :)
Still managed to keep my second place though, until someone in a Elise overtook me in the last lap.

edit: my mind is completely not focused, so i can't even remember what you're talking about Daan :)

For some reason I couldn't connect with you guys :grumpy: I did however have a few races with a racer called TameTurtle .. he was in the GT40 and drove it really well 👍 1st race he caught me short and stopped before the line to let me have the win .. but the 2nd race I was aware and gave him a little nudge up the ass to take 1st place that he deserved .. a very courteous driver who made clean passes and never took any cheap shots :cheers:

How the hell he handled that GT40 so well I will never know? keep an eye out for him guys he is fast and very smooth 👍

Yep, Dutch guy. I raced him once, and he passed me cleanly in 130R.... 👍

Enjoyed racing you, speedthrill. I saw you going off a couple of times as you were getting to know the R8. Haven't driven it in a 700 pp race yet. I seems to take some time to get used to the car.
I've changed cars aswell today. Used to drive the GT-R, but now I thought I'd give the evo X a go. It had a lot more grip then the GT-R, but it's quite a bit slower on the straights. But in general I like it.

I don't thing I saw any other members besides you.

Yeah indeed, got to know her pretty good in the end, definately a stayer in the "most used" corner of my garage.

The other ones I raced were races after you or before.;)

It's interesting to see we were with at least 4 of us at that time on that circuit racing, but only sometimes you get lucky to press new race at the same time:)
 
Spotty GTP sightings for me as well, Suzuka was really hopping, first time I've seen 4 icons for participants on the selection page.

I was in races with Moondancer? (no GTP tag) Daan, Magburner-I followed you right into the kitty litter, man, got distracted watching you pass that guy. We had a nice run to the finish!

Some fast people out there tonight. I'll be on again around 12-2 AM UK time.

No probs fella:) There must have been a dodgey connection between us because your car kept darting everywhere!:lol: I tried a pass around the outside of the last of the suzuka esses and all of a sudden, my car was wooshed into the kitty litter. Hopefully it'll be much smoother next time. Cheers for waiting up for me:tup:


^^Dusty, that's very true about the tuned viper fella. Breaking earlier is vital to ensure you get a proper turn into the corner otherwise corners like turn 1 and the spoon curve become very difficult as you found out:p What a great car though and sounds insanely good!:)

Strange, I saw your car perfectly. No dodging around and stuff like that. And in the esses I tried to brake a little to let you pass, and when I look back, there's just dust:scared: Also in the first corner in the last lap when DustDriver waited for us I tried to overtake you... Again, you were out.

Oh well, It was fun anyways:)
 
Erm, I just done a race on Daytona Speedway, and GTP_rolandvg was there, I think I may have accidentally made him spin out on the last lap, and I am sorry, but the reason it may (if it was my fault) was that you were ghosted and I thought you were about to hit the outside wall- then you suddenly un ghosted and I think I may have hit, but I can't tell, if I did i'm very sorry. :)
 
Just look at the bottom of GTP, see your time zone in comparation to GMT (which is the same as UTC) and do a little maths ;)
 
GMT is not the same as UTC.
In winter time, this is correct, in summer time however, UTC = GMT+1
edit: ignore that, you were right.
UTC ~ GMT

But the schedule states the times for the UK in UTC, while it should be UTC+1.
 
Either way, I'm going to get in some scheduled races now, will anyone join me? Give me half an hour before you see me in any races.

Edit: London 600 PP in 20mins anyone? I'll be there.

Well, i'm a senior member and i've only be here about a couple of months, so it shouldn't be long, just as long as post like hell :dopey:

I'm gonna be racing tonight I think 5.00PM- 9.00PM I should get quite a few races in, I might actually get my first race against FyshoKid!👍

Will I see you at the Suzuka 700 PP event at 13:00 UTC? I might try and race you since I haven't had the pleasure yet.

What's this rare car thread? I've been racing an Aston Martins and Lancia Deltas today.
 
I had a few races aswell with TameTurtle. He is very quick in his Ford GT (amazingly quick actually, it's a dreadfull car to drive). He always started right behind me (2nd & 3rd) and we usually take over the lead before the S curves. However as soon as we got to the back of the track the Ford's superior speed was just too much. He went by me like i was in a Lotus (i drove a Tuned Viper).

Anyway, he won 3 races in a row and then i finally beat him with my best finish time ever (06:29:883). I'm usually in the 06:34 range but in that particular race the car just felt right, i can't expain it.

I also saw a couple of guys from here but they didn't have the best of luck. Started somewhere in the midfield and got hammered. This is the reason i lowered my car's PP to about 690. Yes, you sometimes race with great drivers but most of the time if you start out in the back you'll either crash trying to overtake someone or you'll get punted off.
