I had not tried online racing until last night and I have a couple of comments/questions that I'd like to make. I would like to state that I am hooked up via wireless, and after racing a bit I noticed that my signal strength was only at about 51%.

I only tried a few races in one of the entry level events at the High Speed Ring, but what I was observing was nothing like playing the game offline. Everything was really jerky and cars were instantly darting left/right, flying past me while going sideways, and otherwise....behaving quite strangely. I cannot believe that members of this forum are enjoying online racing if they are having these kinds of issues, and that therefore, there must be problems with my setup or connection to the internet.

Do you suppose that things would improve if I hard-wired the PS3 to my router? Are you all getting a similar visual experience as if you were racing on your own...offline? Any response would be greatly appreciated because from what I experienced yesterday, I have no intention of getting serious about online racing.

I have wireless connection and it seems fine with me... But it also depends on how good the internet is, and not always signal strenght (I think)

That was my first really decent go at online racing in Prologue. I was hit a few times, but the overall experience was much better than it was for my first few goes.

I used my R8 most of the evening and, as it only has 680points, I never started lower than 2nd, and was on pole more often than not. I managed to win a couple of races too. 👍

I spotted you in one Suzuka race daan, in your red R8! 👍

For me racing with this tag gives a feeling to me ass in "don't crash because you're racing in GTP's name here, keep it clean,...." It's a bit psychological i guess:tup:

Same here pal. 👍 For me the GTP tag stands for clean and honest racing. I expect it when I race a fellow GTP'er, and I give it when I race other clean and honest racers.

I think I'm a little too forgiving of other GTP'er though. I was racing GTP_nielsG last night at Suzuka, and he rear ended me on the corner before the first spilt. It wasn't his fault, I slipped my car into first by mistake, and the engine braking caused my car to slow done sharply. I can imagine he was thinking 'WTF'!

To top it off, I slowed down for him to pass me afterwards, to show I was OK with the shunt, but he refused to pass me. So I floored it, clipped the grass and lost control, then I ended up flying into an arnco by the hairpin! I must of looked like a right plonker!

It still says "This event has ended" with me!:banghead:
Look in the ingame news area.
There's a new message that states that you have to delete the temporary data in the options menu if you can't see/participate in the 'new' races.

Fyshokid saw you yesterday on suzuka when I hosted a race with my yellow elise. I was 7th and way behind (damn first corner :)) and I thought he will probably win this race as you started 3rd and I never saw you the whole race :) but when I got to the finish you were not in de standings...

Very true speedthrill:tup: I backed out of a lot of potential passes last night out of extreme caution.

Raced with M00ndancer around Daytona RC. Very smooth and fair driver who obviously uses a wheel very well:tup: Very close finish on the last race where you just pipped me to the post:dunce:

Thank you for the kind words. Had a few really good races with you. The move on the last race was a calculated signature move, drafting is the key. If you're close enough you can slingshot and pass just before the finish line. I'll probably be online late tonight as well.
Have to get a decent setup for the F40 or the GT40 LM, if not I'll be in my red F430 as usual. I'll be alternating between Daytona RC and Suzuka (not as fast there at all). About 30-40 minutes on each.

I made my Evo X faster last night, more than a second faster at Suzuka. So are we still running by the same schedule? What is the tempoary data and how do we delete it?

I can't remember seeing you (Probably because I don't/didn't know you) but it must've been a pushy race (Or I made a stupid mistake:dunce:) and quit...

I might just put up the old schedule later

I'm just ready of a session at Suzuka PRO 700PP. I got the idea to try the R8 out since i saw a fellow GTP-r race with it. It seemed to be a ballanced car and since i get a bit tired of the evo 9 on fuji F (the first really good setup for now) i wanted to tune a new car, this time suzuka! Raced for an hour and yes some GTP_members were on. But in my concentration i forgot 2 off 3 persons tag...

The last one i raced was GTP_RACER_LP (BE). Good races and consistent fast driver there. In the second race i finally started getting the hang of the Audi R8 and we got into close racing, after a lap i was there next to him and we both were near the first one out there like with three on 10m²... Hairpin comes up and i shunt the first one, BAM he goes off... Out of respect i wait for him and became 5th, the car i hit became 3th and GTP-racer 1st:dopey:. He drove a white evo x tuned.

Got into some others with him but the R8 is still not really up and running like she should so couldn't get into a fight with him anymore.... Good racing though and shame i forgot the other two... I had a great two lap battle with one off them (EDIT: I know who it was, it was GTP_Fournier, great racer!!) were we both backed off sometimes not to hit eachother. It felt real for a minute there...
: thumbs up :

I was just thinking, should this thread be moved to the newly made online racing forum?

Fyshokid, I look forward to getting the schedule back.👍

Edit: My mistake, no such forum exists :O

Enjoyed racing you, speedthrill. I saw you going off a couple of times as you were getting to know the R8. Haven't driven it in a 700 pp race yet. I seems to take some time to get used to the car.
I've changed cars aswell today. Used to drive the GT-R, but now I thought I'd give the evo X a go. It had a lot more grip then the GT-R, but it's quite a bit slower on the straights. But in general I like it.

I don't thing I saw any other members besides you.

It was more like "**** he's braking early!" :scared:
And then "hmmm ...?"
And then when you rocketed off track: "WTF!!!"

On a more serious note, I have also tried to race extra fair and've been terrified to make too big mistakes on track.
And I have also noticed, that the GTP'ers I have raced also have taken extra caution and consideration.👍 (people usually pass me on the following straight or the next corner anyway :dopey: )

And I kind of like that. Starting to look like the same respect, we usually show each other, when we meet face to face. :)

I saw you once, but the host quit before start:(

EDIT: The forum has been moved...

EDIT 2:... to the "GT5:P Race Events" forum

Yeah, I saw you too, I really wanted to race you. I saw you were 2 places in front of me and I wanted to see if I could get close to you or even pass you, but as you say, the host quit. I started an other race immediatly hoping to find you there again but you weren't:( and I didn't see you anymore.

Hey there's a new section, YAY! I suppose it will be more organised.

Oh btw Fyshokid, when's the next time ure updating the event schedule, I don't wanna print it and have to do another one tommorow :P

I also pressed immediatly but no GTP_Racer_LP:(

Anyways the new schedule is up:)👍

Good timing! lol

Indeed, and you used my idea for timing the events :D One every 20mins. Of course, if you just raced a GTP'er I would recommend geting straight back into another race with each other.

So anyone up for the Daytona Road Course 700 PP in just over 10mins? That's 02:40 for me (UCT/GMT +10)

I'm still at work... :(
You aint missing much David  every race so far the host has exited when I've been miles ahead and near the end of lap 3 👎 trying to avoid these idiots that seem to be on at the moment so gonna give a it a 2 minute interval every time the race is over before I reconnect .. must be 300'000 squandered already in such a short space of time to sore losers :grumpy:

Oh, how about we follow the schedule :dunce: If people won't follow the schedule why even bother?

I wont follow no schedule! why should I race where I don't want to? I wont race against the flock of wallbangers on the HSR's and when I post to let people know I am on Suzuka it's simply if anyone fancies joining in .. so you stick to your schedule and I will race where I fancy 👍 cheers :)

I am still allowed to post in here if I don't follow a schedule .. Yes?

I guess you're still allowed to post. Random race meets are extremely hard to follow. Following the schedule gives a greater chance to flood an event with GTP players.

Yes, and I say thanks! :)👍

Well... There's some tracks that I don't like, but I race them anyways just to get some practice. I found out that some of the tracks I hated acually wasn't that bad

But if that's the way you wanna race, then I don't mind... I'm just saying that it would be nice if you raced all the same tracks as us:)

Exactly...👍

Gonna head onto suzuka at 20:00 to try out the tuned viper I just bought:sly: If you see a red/black car in the kitty litter, it'll probably be me:lol:

Hey guys, I probably won't do much GTP 'synced' racing until Saturday, then I will print the sheet to do a whole weekend of GTP fun! It's just as well, since i'll be gone till the monday next next week! I hope nothing changes to much, I don't like to miss things lol :P

I also managed to win a Suzuka 700PP today, and all thanks to the amuse! It also helped that it was the first time in modern history that I had a race against clean non-GTP players ;)

Yeah thats the aim. I know I can trust a GTP'er, so it like 'Hows it going mate!', instead of 'Whats this chump gonna do next?' It also makes the game more enjoyable too, with less stuff to worry about. 👍

There was one point when I was behind you in one race and there was this guy (one of the 'amatuers') who was driving all over the shop. I kinda felt like your team mate in that race, and I did a few moves to keep him at bay. I did nothing dishonourable, just some stuff that sorted the wheat from the chaff.

Right, I'll be hopping between Suzuka and Daytona Speedway tonight, mostly Suzuka, but a little Daytona too! See you guys out there! 👍

I saw you in the Viper... I hope it wasn't me that made you crash:sick:
