15

first sti that's managed to pass my r8... shame i overcooked it in to turn 1... it had been a good race up to then.

GTP_ChemicaL & GTP_Timppaq I can't beleave we were that close going into the back straight on the first lap and not one of us put a foot wrong

I was trying everything to get past you in the corners as even getting a perfect exit and a full draft I was losing ground on the straight... I thought I'd got you when you ran a bit wide in dunlop on lap 2, but you held the inside line into degner well.

off to bed now.

it's 3:43 here... :D

All you guys who I met today, another day in paradise!! :) ..privat rooms + race series will be epic!!

Sarlech, as do you!! 👍

GNight!!! 👍

Just so i can straighten my own rules out for you guys, when you are side by side coming into a corner, does the inside person give way knowing that if they try to hold the position there will be some form of contact, most likely causing one or the other to lose considerable time or run off track?

I have had this situation many times and my own judgement says to slow down to avoid contact (partly due to the penalties and not knowing their limits) but sometimes i just want to be greedy and hog the road. This is just so i can still race as fair and comptetitive as you guys do knowing i'm not gonna pull some trick you'd consider dirty xD.

Had a race with GTP_DONK in 750PP Suzuka yesterday, I was behind him when he went off, just telling you I didn't make any contact, although I was a bit all over the place because I hadn't driven it for a while..... Suprised I didn't go off at the same time lol:ouch:

Yes buddy no problems 👍. Ive been racing Suzuka 600 for the past 2 weeks and fancied a blast @ Suzuka 750, I overcooked my driving style thinking my car would'nt let go using the R3 tyres, boy was I wrong

Cheers SouthendRage. :)

1st race against GTP_Muffin, i slowed down at first corner not to rear-him them and then 3rd corner in Muffin takes me out after i just overtook on outside...not what i'm expecting fom GTP racers...

Sorry!

Could it be that it was one of the races where Aero was the Host?If so, i think i have to put the blame on the lags.
I think I remember the situation:
I was in front and saw you trying to overtake me on the outside,so i decided to slow down a bit to let you pass, cause normaly you can't overtake in that corner. The next thing i saw in the rear mirror was ?you? gone flying,Because i didn't notice any touch between us i thought you got punted off by anyone else or just lost the control.

If it was my fault, I'm sorry for that,
I think, most of you know that i always trying to have some good clean races.

I'm also sorry for my bad english:dunce:

Hi Kalamity,

You pose a good question, and i'd like to hear the opinion of the others too.

My philosophy in this is threefold.

If i (think) my car is still more in front, i take it i can race my own racing line.
If the other car has a slight edge, i will back off a bit.
If i am not sure, i will leave enough room for both cars to be able to pass hoping the other driver does the same.

most of the time i'll consider lifting off the gas a bit to avoid an 'outing to the beach' is a lot quicker then risking both cars to leave the track.

Chrs

Thankyou GT5NET_CEDRICO57 for waiting at the finish.👍 Both you and MisterWeary were true gentlemen towards my RWD shinanigans.:)

When overtaking - Unless I'm fully alongside before the braking zone I tend to back off and conceed the line. If I'm fully alongside I expect them to give way.

When being overtaken - The reverse - if the opponent is fully alongside on the inside I'll conceed the line to them.

Most important factor for me is who your racing against. If it's a tagged racer (or someone you've raced before) then you can probably trust them to do the right thing 99% of the time. If it's someone I don't know then I always think the worst and make sure I make a clean pass before the braking zone.

Very rarely would I try to go 2 wide in to a corner.

+1 👍

..and adding just that with right company, going double file is a lot fun!! :)

You've really got to know they have the awareness of what's happening and the skills to hold their own line... fun when it works out, sandy when it doesn't!

Gonna race on the 15 min intervals for a while...hope to see some of you there.

Starting at xx:45

[EDIT] Suzuka 600PP [/EDIT]

[EDIT2] No GTP'ers in the xx:45...here's hoping in the xx:00 because that race was a bunch of punters  [/EDIT2]

I'm glad you have wrote that, i always presumed that if you get into a corner on the inside, then the outside racer should conceed, at Suzuka first corner if i go on the outside which i try to do to avoid the carnage i will take it easy and stick to the outside, making sure i don't cut in. I was always puzzled though that i may have been wrong when i got on a persons inside at a corner only to find they turn into me forcing me off or them going off, then i feel obliged to stop even if i have felt i was in the right

Ack, tell me about it. I constantly get into those situations on Dunlop and 200R, and I can never hold my line well, partly because I'm using a Viper, partly because I get nervous trying to avoid contact.
I can usually keep a good battle going in the Esses though and everywhere else on the track, its just those two corners, especially when I'm on the outside, I usually have to slow down and allow the other person through, because I know I'm going to lose control.

I disagree. Unless it's high speed or "No overtaking" corner, if someone even has his front wheel by my rear quarter panel I'll give racing room, not concede my position. If I can battle on and hold my position on the outside then that is crafty racing my friend. Just because someon is trying to overtake you doesn't mean you have to concede. Defensive lines aren't bad either, but blocking is. I choose to race as you would in real life primarily, it adds to the experience.

Did you have fun racing against my Corvette earlier? Were you at least a little suprised at my speed in it?:dopey:

Twas very pacy my friend, every time I've tried a RWD I'm just a drifting mess on the track...very impressive 👍

As for racing every 15...bollocks to that, too many disconnects and the like I'm just getting in when I can now 👍

*Relief* Oh good, I can relax now.:) If you ever want to try RWD, I have some setups with remarkable road holding ability. They may not be as fast as that WRX (Well the Clio might be), but I find RWD much more fun. Although all the published setups (bar that Corvette) were from the old 600 PP with R3 tyres. They mostly only need a brake balance change along with the PP, but anyone interested should probably contact me first. (I can't wait for the full GT5 and the ability to put downforce on almost anything)

Do you race with a wheel? Because I feel if I could modulate the throttle, maybe RWD would be better but as it stands it's just press X and watch it spin!

Nope, I use the controller, but I use the triggers for accelerating and braking. I use to be pretty good at modulating the X-Button in GT4 though.

[/I] suprised at my speed in it?:dopey:

Unless you're at fully along side me, expect to get your nose chopped off in those circumstances... I know my braking points are good and it's unlikely anyone will outbrake me from that far back so I'll only give room if you're level with me or I get the feeling you're going to hit me whatever I do.

*meant in 3rd person, not specifically aimed at you nd 4 holden!
