most of these stories will probably end with "i was so mad i quit the race".

i have not had any that bad thus far though.

How about those races that you managed to make a mistake early on, but then raced perfectly to eventually retake the lead on the final lap...only to have the host quit before you earned the credit for your victory? I'm not sure why any host would quit the race close to its conclusion...with many races only having 4 competitors, pretty much everyone would have earned decent credits.

I wouldn't think that the credits are the thing that's setting in their minds at that time, more the fact that they just got smoked by someone that put it in the sand on lap one.

Worst race? Well one of mine started off looking good - 10 racer grid and all of them competitive cars. about 20 seconds in, people started dropping, either from disconnecting on purpose or the host not being able to handle it. Ended up me and the host racing, and he turned out to be a punter/pusher.

I still won, but it wasn't fun, I had to break early and undercut him on almost every corner. Still a punter though, so he wasn't quite figuring out why he wasn't passing me :D

a recent one that pissed me off was on suzuka 750pp, i was driving an evo x tuned and an amuse s2k coming up to the hairpin and the tool slams me as hard as he could straight off the end. the sad part is he was pretty fast and that was completely uncalled for. I caught up to him later and had problems passing him, so he could have just passed cleanly in the first place. I at least get it when someone who cant drive rams you.

I hate the races that I get punted off, and can't catch up and invoke revenge, but I usually love the races right after them. ;)

I can't say I'm enjoying any race online at the moment. The tyre changes have made most races a lottery as far as fair competition goes, and for whatever reason the number of bad drivers seems to have increased vastly over what it was. Since the changes I haven't had one race where someone hasn't punted me off, be it intentionally or simply though understeer on the crap tyres.

I had a bad experiance lst night at Fuji F 600PP. I was in my F430 racing a red EVO. The racer was from Canada and the EVO vs. the F430, well the EVO had me easly beat through the corners is why I'm wandering why this person felt obligated to when behinde me to ram me off the track to get around me. I mean really...why? A halfway decent driver could easly had beat me at Fuji in an EVO with minimal contact. I knew when the race started I was beat. I was at Fuji praticing for the Ferrari Festival later today. Anyways...I'm done venting.

A couple of nights ago I was racing A Ferrari 512BB in the NTSC Tournament at Suzuka

Overshot spoon curve on the first lap either because of weight penalty for being in the lead or brake failure. That put me near dead last. Got back on the track and started down the back stretch.

Then someobody in a white car pulled along side me to pass but before he was clear he started to cut me off! I'm sure he drives like that in real life, cutting off etc etc

So I lifted and he missed me

Then going into turn 1 on the second lap I pass a F40 on the inside and barely hit his side, but he stays on the track and right on my bumper.

The very next short straight he pulls along side me and takes us both out by sideswiping me on purpose.

It's sad that was my second online race in nearly a week and I run into garbage driving like that so quickly.

The next race in the tournament I try to start but it ends almost as soon as it starts.

every time i catch up to who ever punted me he is usually already in the sand so i cant even get revenge. :grumpy:

Most of the races i have had @ Fuji of late, Too many Evo, Subaru drivers who are dirty as hell, Last good race i remember was with GTP_Timppaq @ Suzuka. He was in his F430 and i was in my 888 tuned viper and we had a good clean race away from the rest of the pack, and i was very happy to come in second place.

I look forward to more races like that and cant wait for private lobby's, Invite friends instead of rammers. Yes please!

Why did you get rid of your picture earth. That black helmet was very scary. Every time I saw a post of yours on here I was intimidated.

Well i had mixed experiences tonight in the Ferrari Festival, some good some awful but the single last race makes up for the bad ones. I had kept having trouble with punters for a couple races and it was driving me nuts.

But its worth all the god knows how many races i could put in this thread, for the few races i could stick in the 'Enjoyed' thread.

So this means you really ARE homeforsummer :sly:

Hope the bring backup the grippyrubber 👍 , driving on eggs is not my thing :dunce:

If it wasn't for rough we wouldn't have a word for smooth
👍

Driving at Fuji is like one big puntingfestival. What a cr.a.p.p! Well at least the standing starts make up a bit.
you get hit, hit, hit, start overtaking, you get slammed into the wall and again and again....well I give up ;)

from the 30 races at Fuji I had 28 crappy ones and 3 good one :)

I know my counting is not correct, because my head ist like pudding in that helmet of all the smashing....

Any race where I see the entire grid made up of "tuned" anything (especially Clios) and then me... I usually just let the kids ram me off at the first corner, since it will happen anyway, especially now with the wonderful tire restrictions = tuned cars in most online racers hands...

Oh and full grids of GTRs at Fuji...yawn...borning.

By far the worst online experiences that I've had would be when I drove the 512 to practice my set up for the NTSC Tournament. This car is fun for the driver, but it really gets in the minds of others in the field, when they see you're as fast or better than them in their AWD's, man they just loose their temper over this car and start to punt. If they are faster or better than you, then why the punt to make you loose several seconds? Just pass the car in front of you cleanly, and then let your driving do the maths.

You know... AI can be a pain but you can always blame this to programming or something, and that can be improved. I just can't comprehend this kind of behavior from real human beings, and this is as good as it gets. It's scarry :nervous: Before I was on the "it's cool to race anyone" side but now I just can't wait for private rooms.

Just switched off the console because I'm now too wound up to race.
Fuji 600PP, I'm driving the Z06 (i.e a threat to no-one driving AWD)

First race; some tw@t called MSPOWER who seemed to have the sole objective to punt me into every gravel trap on the circuit.

Second race; another @rseh*le called NARSTAR, who's obviously been to the M5POWER school of motoring, doing the same thing to me. To cap it all, he slams the brakes on halfway down the Fuji main straight while I was drafting. WHY? Ther were only 3 of in the race ffs.

Both of them on my personal black list.

There - I feel better now.

Well......it was a good race so far starting from 6/9 players took the lead on the second lap(this is 750pp HSR by the way). Took a 5sec lead because of the punters fighting but as usual the pack caught me up even though i didnt make any mistakes or anything but lets not get into that hehe. On the last corner on the last lap inevitably i was hit off the only ray of sunshine was he ended up backwards aswell it was blatent ramming which made it worse 1 to 9 in 1 corner!I tell you i was almost in tears after 1 of my best races.

LOL..that F40 from the sounds of it was ME..If I remember I ran wide due to a car that spun just before me, you then went beside me on the inside. As we accelerated out of the corner along side of you my left rear tire must have touched the grass and it instantly shot me sideways into the side of you...there was no way I could have avoided that collision...sorry But I do believe after we stopped spinning I stayed on the side of the road until you went by...that was the only way I could think of to say sorry and to show I didnt mean to hit you.

I am an aggressive driver as I'll stay right on your bumper if I can or pass you but I do consider myself to be a fair and clean racer....I sometimes get caught out whent he car handles differently than the previous lap due to the online boost, I find that frustrating and feel bad if I collect someone when I mess up.

Anyways. long story short, sorry, I didnt mean to hit you!!

It all makes sense now, because I know I didn't do anything worthy of retaliation that severe

Dude, the same thing happened to me, I was leading the race and I had a 3 second lead over everyone there. This was in the Tournament and right before the spoon I just lost it. I dunno how, I didn't anything different than before. I took the small turn like I had 30 times before in practice and I just lost it. I was so pissed, I finally concluded that it was the Rubber Band effect in the game, my grip changed so the car didn't handle the same, like it would if I was out in front by .500 of second. Man I feel your pain, I went all the way too 10th or something and then raced my way up to 2nd place. lol Ham won the race.

Man that was probably one of the worst WTF races I have ever ran...You don't want to be leading in this game...The Rubber Band effect will just mess with you. You can take the car threw this corner at 80MPH his lap, then go into the lead and and on the next lap you can take the same corner 80MPH and you go off the track? what kind of crap is that? This game, I swear.

When you spun off at Spoon, I was right behind you. After you left the track, I was in the lead by a good margin. When I got around 130R and braked for Casio Triangle ( the slow chicane before the straight) it was as if I had brake failure. Same speed I always have there, braked at the same spot that I did 50 times before, but this time my brakes just didn't stop me. I went into the stacks of tires pretty hard. By the time I got back to the track, I was last place. And finished last.
I have noticed that with the S2 tires, there seems to be less grip after the first lap, and by the last lap, the tires are loosing there grip more. I noticed this in practice, but it's worse in actual races.

Apologies for being off-topic, but this is relevant to the last couple of posts.
Are you guys using the sixaxis controller?
I too have experienced "brake failure".
Each time, though, it's been my fault. I race with accelerator/brake on the right-hand stick. I find that if my concentration wanders, instead of pulling the stick back for braking towards the 6 o'clock position, I'm pulling towards approx 4.30. Hence I'm not getting full braking and I fly off the outside of the bend.
Simple fix - concentrate on right thumb for a lap or two.
Maybe not the answer for you guys, but it works for me.

i have found that if you brake late sometimes the brakes seem like they have completely failed. it happens on the suzuka hairpin to me more than anywhere else. i brake a bit late, and there should be enough road to cover the mistake, but i just go sailing off.

I have experienced what you have before, the solution is and always will be brake early. Even running ABS 1 you are still going to run into some problems with them locking with 90% - 100 % applied pressure. So next time: I know this is going to sound crazy, but let off the brakes a little bit and go back hard and let off and back hard and I swear you will slow down faster. ;)

I use the Driving Force GT and have not experience many braking failures since I have made that switch to the wheel from the game pad.

Well there it is the Video, pay attention to lap two..you can see I have 3.3 second on second place before the harpin. I even left off the throttle a lot and I still spun. PLEASE I do apologize for the bad language, but you have to understand the pressure I was to get a win and to run consistant for the points. Any other race I would have said, oh well, but this race no. lol I guess you can see the raw emotion that competition brings out, in my case I got mad at myself for letting that spin happen. I know it had something to do with the Rubber Band effect, Just because I was running out front so far away, there is no way no one would of caught me. SO I guess the game decided that I didn't need as much grip. Its junk. So again sorry for the language in the video, I would edit out, but for some reason there is a codec problem with the video.

Please direct yourself to a video on the main page. Tournament TWO: race three Suzuka.

Just had a race where I wrecked twice by my stupid mistakes. I then caught up to the 1st place guy on the last lap where I was just passing him. He then slammed me into the wall i bounced back off and was driving straight in the grass trying to get back on the road where he then slammed me about 4 more times into the wall when I finally spun out.
