In our league, we're trying to come up with the best way to judge network problems, in terms of final placement, scoring or concession (a sort of racing equivalent to baseball's "ground rule double"). Specifically: racers dropping out in the middle of a race due to network troubles, or the game kicking them out, etc. What do other people do in this situation, in terms of assumption of final position, scoring, concession, or whatnot? There are obviously several different contexts to be considered here. A few examples: Dropping out when...
- the race has not started yet
- very early in the race
- in the middle of the race
- at the end of the race
