So I had a thought of implementing an updated status report under our avatars. Would it be possible to say something like 'inactive' if the user is online but they haven't changed or refreshed pages for 30 minutes (or 20 minutes, etc)? Some people (myself included for sure) show they are 'online now' and just leave the page open and aren't really using the site at all. Just a thought is all, what do you guys think?

I see where you're coming from - it would be nice. However, it would require fairly low-level modifications to our forum software, and I simply don't think it would be worth the time and effort. Keep in mind that you can already see the user's last activity on their profile, so that may be able to give you a pretty good idea of whether or not they are actually "using" the site at a given moment in time.

If your a premium member you can click on "My GTplanet" on your homepage,to the left there is a column,in that column you will see where it says "edit options",click that, once you do that, the very first box in the center column has a mode for "invisible",click that, then you will appear as if you are off-line. 👍

hope that helps, not sure if it will work if you are not a premium member though. 💡

Basically the Online Now! should be abit more detailed.

I think it is a nice idea as going into someones profile just to see their last activity is long winded for what it's worth. Although modifications can create more problems than they solve sometimes. If I were Jordan I would find this a difficult decison.

Good info about the profile, thanks! Sorry if my description was confusing :)
