It's certainly much more up my street now, I really want an open co-op, hardcore shooter and this is it. I'm avoiding Modern Warfare 2 but feared I'd cave on the peer pressure and buy it. If OF2 delivers though, forget about MW2, I won't be swayed at all.

10 days till release, latest youtube gameplay trailers look very tight.

Woohooo... next week I believe right? Should be good... see you all online 👍

I hope to get hold of my copy asap, also for those wondering, yes my new Avatar is from OF2.

Fingers crossed :) Lets hope this game does not disappoint... I wanna play HARDCORE ... :p

From the gameplay I've seen on console vids, everything looks solid, I will say if your expecting COD4 style play you'll be disapointed. Expect a serious tactical shooter on a huge sandbox style playing area.

No doubt those expecting COD4 will be bitterly disapointed and no doubt will be pointing out the games many many many flaws, ie the fact it's not COD. But for those who like the original and games such as SOCOM this is going to be a landmark title.

I prefer Battlefield over COD :) So I think this game will appeal to me regardless 👍 COD is a great franchise... but goes way to quick for my liking ;)

Plan on getting this ASAP - looks like it will play well and could fill a spot that SOCOM doesn't (which is vehicles), just hope its as tactical as SOCOM but without the early glitches.

Fingers crossed.

They seem to have the tactical elements sorted, it is only bugs and the core gameplay physics which are up for my own questioning. Even if the game isn't completely natural for shooting, as long as there's no major bugs then it should be a solid experience for me. I'd much prefer a solid experience on a game like OF, to an outstanding offering in the COD market.

I am looking foward to play this game.. i am curious how many players max in the online? Socom Conifrontion got 32 players max.

To be honest I'd be happy with 16 players online, 32 would be good but I think to work tacticaly as a team 8 player sides is much easier to keep working together. Where it's at though is the 4 player co-op, now thats going to be very very special.

The COD thing is more a poke at it's style of play, rather than the quality of the title. I still play it with friends and have a good laugh, but reactions seem to win over tactics most of the time unless you can tie the whole team into a plan. I can see running off like a john rambo on OFP2 will see similar results as on SOCOM.....ie you die very quickly LOL.......see video.

I also prefare the scope of BF over COD and yes SOCOM with vehicles (like earlier versions of the game) would seriously enhance the gameplay which compared to the sandbox elements of OFP2 or the maps of BF2 seems like your hemed in a very small space, not as small as COD4 however. But again BF2 and COD4 are very different titles compared to SOCOM and OFP2.

I'm looking at the co-op most as well, although if there was AI in the mix in competitive modes, I'd probably give them a fair stab as well.

For which console? if you're going for PS3, we might have to arrange a meeting of some variety.

At first I was getting the game on two formats, but I thought it was better to get it on one format. Other then that, I will be up for some games on the 10th or 11th of October.

I'm unsure just how quickly I'll get my copy, will make sure I inform everyone in this thread though.

Could spoil it a little but nice video showing first mission single player, really shows the level of tactics required in the game.

Looks good, I really can't wait for this game. I'll only not enjoy it if there's some huge, I mean HUGE technical problem going on.

Really glad to see that footage, especially because it looks like the PlayStation3 version is completely solid and not gimped like most other multi-format games.

First review, from Dutch magazine, review of both PC and 360 versions. 9/10

Both ArmaII and the PS3 versions are mentioned and no derogitory points were raised about the PS3 version. Looks like Codemasters have pulled it off!

Just found the review score from the official playstation magazine.....7/10......hmmm not too concerned SOCOM got 5/10 originaly then 7/10 after patch. neiche titles tend to score lower, will try and find the Dutch magazines review for the PS3.

CVG PC review 9/10
Gamestar germany 7.9/10
sweedish pc games 89%

Looks like some great gameplay. I've always wanted to play a tactical FPS. Hate SOCOM, btw.

I just think it's hilarious that the developers made this backstory with China vs. Russia... and then WHOOPDIE DOO, the US is suddenly involved in someone else's war again.

I think I'm going to get this game when it comes out. I'll use NFS:S for a little discount. The game looks good and I heard from my friend who has the original its realistic so that should make it intersting.

All useable weapons and driveable vehicles. Last video is a sniper montage, you'll see how he aims off to componsate for windage, distance and velocity of target.....I'm entering fanboy mode in the next 12 hours ;)

is it release tomorrow? i mean it's an hour left to go 12am? i might just go out to buy at walmart. :P

...and is it really that hard to use capital letter?

Now in answer to your question, here in the UK its scheduled for release on the 9th, which is Friday. Fingers crossed I will get a chance to pick up my copy on the way to work.

IGN UK Review up here.... http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1031869p1.html 8.1/10.
Review marks the game down for menu interaction mainly. Lots of options and getting shot at whilst going through them can be a pain........Finding cover before getting on the radio to issue orders is the norm in real life, I suggest you apply this tactic LOL, Biggest plus point went to co-op mode, no need to select orders, just use the mic!

This game keeps looking better and better!! :) I cant wait til the end of this week :D

The multiplayer looks good. only 2 game modes, team death match and attack and defend. you work in a 4 man squad with AI filling empty slots (I think thats what he ment) but the reintroduction of the attack and defend game mode seen in GRAW is genious. Absaloutly love that game mode. If you havn't come accross it before you have 2 teams, one team has to defend a structure or area whilst the other has to attack it. Seriously tactical online games should spring from this, especialy with the 4 man squad system making up your team (think it's 16 players max, 2 4 man teams per side) with the AI filling empty slots this could mean 2 players could take a full squad against each other in this mode.........yep fanboyisim has now officialy kicked in LOL

One question is the Co-op done online? Or can you do it at home on 1 console with the screen split into 4 or 2 depending on how many are playing...
