Aargh! Where's the unsee button.

I'm taking no blame whatsover for tangent this thread has now gone off on!

Not sure I want to be associated with a group that posts a picture like this...:sly::rolleyes::odd:

EDIT: Just noticed this was in the photo address (copy and paste I didn't add the Caps...lol):

I did type in "gay archery". Poor Arnold. :lol:

(I do not own or host that photo, it was just a random web search. Gotta admit it's funny though!)

Is this what you guys do in the front of the pack during races....trade pictures like this???

I guess there's 1 good thing about being in the back of the pack :sly:

Changing topic...Picked up the nixim brake mod spring for Christmas, what a wonderful difference. I ended up putting the original brake spring in the clutch, and the original clutch spring in the gas. It was a nice change to get me excited about GT5 again...

Too late, the damage is done...

I thought you left?? :rolleyes:

That's exactly what I did, and I left the little rubber block out as I found it made things way too stiff. It's a wonderful improvement and once you adapt to it you'll really notice a difference in your braking zones.

Has everyone been paying attention to the news feed the last two days? PD is teasing us with all kinds of goodies..........while it's a bit exciting I have a feeling what we're seeing is the first glimpses of GT6. I certainly hope we get at least one of those circuits added to our current game though. 👍

I highly doubt we will see Willow Springs, I think PD will save new content like that (along with Silverstone and Bathurst) for the next full game. However, as returning content, Seattle and Apricot could very well be a late track-DLC. Both look upgraded over GT4 (Seattle looks like a redesign), so it's a good bet we will see them both in GT soon, either as GT5 DLC or in GT6.

btw, that girl you posted looks underage.

Nothing was meant there, Brandon. However, making up for Arnold's bulge with a lightly-dressed underage girl might incur the wrong sorts of questions in this group of older gentlemen. ;)

My avatar is 22, Fyi.

I was only kidding. :sly: Blame Marcus, his "silly bandit" comment started it all. Of course I thought "fruity bandit" was funnier, thus Arnold. I'll refrain from using artistic license in the future, lest people get the wrong impression. :dunce:

Who is your avatar? I'm not sure I've seen her before.

That sure does make it better. Lol

For me it's kind of like when you were a kid and your Mom washed your mouth out with soap (yeah we did that back in the day...and we all lived...lol) Trust me, eating a couple of smarties after eating soap doesn't make the taste go away...everything tastes like soap for a while.

The changes to the PP system are huge, dramatic and widesweeping. We're basically starting over when it comes to PP. Some cars, unchanged from 2.09 have lost 50PP. I drove the Roadster at 400PP last night and had to add 40 hp to get it back to 400PP just now. More power for the slower cars it looks like. If done right, it could really bring more cars closer together, but there's no chance of it being perfect with so many cars and variables.

Just checked the RM Silvia...it's 439PP as it sits in my garage...lol. It was in the 490's wasn't it? I remember remarking once that it's about as fast as a top rate 450PP road car and was dramatically overrated, so at 439PP it's much more comparable to road cars in terms of performance, perhaps a little underrated now.

The DTM A4 went from 575>>517PP...lol..

I am not surprised at any of that. Anyone who ran he BRZ/FRS/GTwhatever in a 400pp race could tell you PP was horribly flawed. I mean, I'm sure it still is, but perhaps they've pinned the tail a bit closer to the donkey this time.

True, except the GT12 had HP added not taken away...lol.

My 85' RX7 had 174 hp at 400PP before the update..now it has 280!!

What the................. :odd::

What the................. :odd::

*scurries off to check the news feed*

•Adjusted performance point calculations to correct an issue where the speed of cars in races with PP (Performance Point) restrictions would be matched unfairly.•Adjusted the engine sound of the Honda Weider HSV-010(Super GT) ’11.
•Improved the force feedback control of the Thrustmaster TS500RS Steering wheel controller to improve steering feel. This improvement will allow more precise countersteer on dirt and while drifting.

Looks like no adjustments to FF's so I'm guessing PD has basically abandoned trying to equate FF's on a PP basis. There's no way a 190 hp Ford Focus is going to keep up with a 230 hp Roadster NC on any track on any tire in the entire universe.

If we ran the DTM race now, you'd have to lower the PP to 517 to get all the same cars in. I believe the Beemer stayed at or near stock PP so it would lose nearly 60PP. Be interesting to see how they all match up at 517pp.

Wow. I'm glad we weren't in the middle of any organized racing, this could really cause some problems. I guess the little bit of testing I did last night is out the window. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

The PP level which to operate may change, but unless they changed the actual specifications of the cars the competitiveness of the models should remain. I'm just getting online now and taking care of the particulars, so I'll have a look shortly.

True the specs haven't changed, but the performance of each car at a fixed PP will. Hopefully they are more evenly matched at that new PP.

Right, so basically if (pre 2.10) you had "FR car A" and "MR car B" at 500pp, the MR car would probably be a little more dominate. Now with 2.10, "FR car A", while the actual specs haven't changed, is rated at a lower PP and wouldn't be paired against the MR car But now "FR car C", which was in a higher class before, is now dropped down to 500pp and more competitive with the MR car.

In theory, it should work. And it's a basic enough thing that hopefully it actually does work. This would explain why limiting to a single powertrain seemed to result in better PP pairings. It could be promising, especially for public rooms and it might make simple, unstructured racing a lot easier. Looks like I'll have to expand my testing parameters. :dopey:

I feel sorry for the guy who has to update all of this:
