BrandonW77Actually my idea is to let the room randomly generate a track so everybody learns it on the fly. In real rally, rallycross and even autocross the drivers don't know the track like a typical circuit racer would so a random track that nobody knows would mind of replicate that. I've fiddled with it, the room only had minor control over creating the tracks. It's best to have a base track that has the elevation change, the road width and general length you desire and load that into the room. From the map screen you you can choose the number of sectors and complexity and let it generate the actual track layout on the day of the event. Thus, a random track that nobody knows!
We'd each get two or three practice laps to get a general idea of where any surprise are. Then the race would start but we all stay parked on grid, first driver goes at specified time, next driver goes 20 seconds later, and so on. Make the tracks long enough that we each take two laps (one out lap and a full flying lap) and if we keep it below six or seven drivers we shouldn't encounter any traffic. Add the multiplier to each drivers elapsed race time (2nd place +20, 3rd place +40, etc.) to decide actual time.
It's probably to complicated to work, if somebody goes 1-2 seconds early or late the calculated times would be off. But, it's a fun idea.![]()
