Looks like it will be this evening, too many sports to watch today!

Did......did I just see Kimi in a shampoo commercial???

Yes. I found that odd :scared:

Leave him alone, he knows what he's doing!

Just saw him in a deodorant too! Must have hygiene issues.

When you party as hard as he does, you have to look and smell your best!

LMAO. Saw those as well during the telecast. I was like "Is that Kimi?" Woulda never thought he'd go for some pretty boy 🤬 such as that hair wave.

I want COTA in GT5/6. NAOW!

Here's a little mash-up from the RallyCross event I went to on Saturday. It was what they called an "Australian Challenge", basically like an ROC event or a rally Super Special Stage. Two cars on track, one starts at the beginning and one starts at the halfway point, first one back to their respective finish line wins and advances (bracket style). It was a fun format, but I only did two heats as I was a bit nervous about breaking my car (it was a little rougher than I would have liked).

About 75% of the cars were Subarus and about half of those were RS's. If I had some extra coin laying around I'd love to take it off your hands.

Nice event and photos. That site is about as a smooth and safe as it gets, and the scenery looks quite enjoyable.

Flat farm ground as scenery. LoL

Brandon to bad I moved to town. I used to have three acres. Two of which we raced around with our vehicles. ;) I had a mid hole. Jumps(for quads) big oval. Talk about a drunken good time. LoL buddy had a Suzuki Samurai he thought he was really kicking ace with around the oval. I was chasing him in a V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. (prior one to my current). He all like dude I'm smoking your Jeep. I'm like boner. I ain't even went half throttle. He's all like BS blah blah blah. So I said go. I'll pass you. He makes two turns and I've caught him. Come down the longer straight I drop into the thick weeds and go wide open. Bwa wa wa wa wa wa wa right on by him. Set it sideways throw dirt all In his windshield and proceed to leave him in the dust. He stops. Says well. I was all proud of Samurai till now. hahaha

We had so much fun out there. Indiana boys with field access = Hell of a good time.

Are you generally selling it just messing with B's head?
Cause I wouldn't mind an RS to abuse ;)

The more I think about it, the more I am open to getting rid of it... But I don't think I could, in good conscience, sell it to anyone. At least not without some work.

It has 197,XXX miles on it as of now... The interior is a little rough. The body has some dents, dings, scratches and a couple of small rust spots, it currently has an exhaust leak and some electrical issues (cruise control doesn't work) and driver/passenger door windows won't roll down due to the motors being bad. I've spent the better part of two years looking for any kind of OEM, rebuilt or junk yard replacement without any luck.

Mechanically the engine and drive train are great... It still pulls hard, clutch/tranny is in good shape, and it is almost due for a new timing belt (regular replacement interval). I've never had any failures at all, it's been the best car I've ever had hand down.

In the morning, as the frost melted it got nice and slippery which would have been really fun. But I didn't get to go until after lunch and by then it was dry and hard, made it very difficult to toss the car around. I tried the flick technique but it wasn't working because there was too much bite. I should have gone with the power-oversteer technique instead. After hitting a pretty solid bump that actually made me go "umph" I decided to call it quits before anything broke. One side of the track was fine but the other side was just too rough. And yeah, most of the cars there were specially prepped for this kind of thing and several arrived on trailers. Not sure I'll be doing this again with my daily driver.

blah blah blah

I just noticed your new signature!

Yes, most people's first rallycross in their daily driver is usually also the last using their daily. This is what has stunted the growth of the sport compared to solo and is why the turnouts are much lower. In solo over 50% of first timers return to future events; whereas in rally maybe 10% at best stick with it. Rallycross national championships usually has fewer entrants than even a medium sized region's local autoslolam events. After that first taste most decide that it is a bit much of a risk to run a car you depend on in rally, so they are faced with finding a co-drive arrangement or a dedicated rally/solo beater. It is a newer sport in the US, and is sort of searching for a market right now.

I'm doing boring hand assembly stuff at work, have an old 24hr Le Mans playing on youtube, featuring such GT5 cars as the Mazda 787 and Jag XJR 12, and I see these two mugs appear........(I know at least a few of you will recognize them).......

Another option to explore - some events on ice. Not sure if it's too warm in Indiana (probably), but further up north there are usually events done on frozen lakes. A track gets plowed and, if the weather cooperates, it can be very smooth. If you don't screw up - there's very little load on suspension. If you do - you might end up testing how soft are the piles of snow on the side of the track. Early in the season they are generally fairly fluffy. Late in the season you can require a new bumper at least.

This will give a rough idea

Much younger fellows in that pic... I wonder if Bob Varsha was as pervy back then as he is now?

I'd love that, snow is my natural habitat and I LOVE driving in it. I don't think it gets cold enough down here for lakes to be safe for driving.

Does he have a pervy reputation? I never knew....

You've never noticed some of the comments he makes during a broadcast when they show a hot chick on camera? You can tell that Matchett and Hobbs are made uncomfortable by it sometimes when they hastily try to redirect the conversation... Makes me

The last few years. We only had the lakes frozen deep enough for vehicles like a week period and that is sketchy.

Back when we had normal winters and it actually remained in the teens for a month. Lakes would freeze and it was game on. More snowmobiles now on the lakes. As they can really get them opened up. Hit any open water and they skip across. Considering its only small spots. Buddy sunk his sled a few years back. LoL they actually have a guy that rescues these sleds. Many are not retrieved till ice melts and barge can get in place. LoL

Also not come winter. Cold car parts break much much easier then when it's warm. ;)

I wanna run my Jeep at said Rally Cross.

Actually I've always found the exact opposite and thought all three of them are nothing but professional. All about perspective I guess. :dopey:

Methinks said Jeep would tip right over at said Rally Cross, ruts form quickly and even my car felt like it was going to get up on two wheels a couple times. :nervous:

LMAO @ THIS!!!

I've only seen the sleds sink when they run on open water. It is a lot of fun.

Brandon you so got me stoked about this winter and playing the snow. Just saying.

I hope we actually get some snow this winter, last year was a freaking rip off. I did one donut all winter..........ONE!!!!

So........race cars aren't allowed on track with tuning prohibited?? I tries to test some touring cars and SuperGT cars, none of them could get in. That's dumb.

Didn't you set tuning prohibited with the Silvia RM? Has that changed with the update?

Edit: And with the Alfa that was already a racing car?

I've never had that problem before. It has been a while, but in the past I was always able to get in. Sometimes I had to go through each part/adjustment and make them all default, but I don't recall ever not being able to get in eventually. I'll check it out in a moment.

Edit: With a quick test I was able to enter the track with the Jaguar XJR, the Weider, the Calsonic Impul GT-R, and the Arta Garaiya. Of note, however, was that I did have to go in and reset the transmission to default on each car. Two of them I had never driven, adjusted, or even changed the oil, so how the transmission would've been anything but default does perplex me. I recall after one update a while back this happened as well, requiring transmission resets, and they did actually change all the ratios. I'm wondering if the game changed what the factory ratio was for some cars and did not publish this. Wouldn't be the first time. There is a lot that isn't quite right with the game when it comes down to the hard numbers. I have 3 different tunes of the same car all with 'original' transmissions, and each one was let into the track as well. I also have two identical cars where they were broken in using the same methods, both unmodified, and have different HP ratings. One was purchased within a months of the game release, the other only this past summer. It is almost as if during a past update either the base numbers for the car, or its progression; was adjusted.

What Marcus said...I didn't actually go to the transmission and reset it because I either knew I hadn't driven them or used the setting sheets to change everything to default. I will attempt it again, at least one of the cars he mentioned was one I tried so something must have been goofy.
