order or not to order?

In b-spec i have noticed that my drivers win more easily if i don´t give them any order during the whole race.if i tell them to increase pace or to overtake they´ll just not do that.

if i put bob in a race with even cars and give no commands he will charge to the lead then finish the race in 5th.

It depends on the car/race/opponents. If you're in a semi-evenly matched car, chances are you'll have to coach/babysit. If it's a Formula GT against JGTC or DTMs, just set it and forget it.

round daytona if i dont tell bob to keep increasing his pace, he'll just brake into 2nd gear around every corner -_-

Bob tends to charge to the lead and then as soon as he's got a little lead he cools down. The cars behind are racing each other and staying hot so they catch him and pass him before he can heat back up.

So.... I put him in a car that's fast enough to stay in the lead when totally cold. If that's not an option, I babysit him to keep him from going totally cold.

I have seen my guy lose upto 10 seconds a lap sometimes when I leave him alone, so I wouldn't recommend it unless your car is way overpowered. Oh and there is a GT5 B-Spec Forum you know.;)

i was trying to figure if i could avoid babysitting him in the mazda endurance race

also he may slow down, but when the computer catches him he speeds back up and pulls away again.

sorry still new to this.how do you do that?

Also as Bob improves in Class he will tend to win races if left unattended but as you say OP i have noticed too that bob will do better left to his own devices (mine are high level now , it did not apply though when low level they needed instruction).

Yestrday I entered him in to the harder race on the historic car on expert and he was rubbish, kept hitting fences and coming 5th all the time. Then I repeated one race with him, got him a bit more XP, not a level up or anything and the next race he absolutely blitzed it! God knows how!

Triple posting is also frowned upon, use the multi-quote function.
It's at the bottom of each comment next to the "Report" function 👍

Welcome to GTP. :gtpflag:

sorry didn´t know. i usually go straight to the marketplace

Protip: The rest of the forum is a bit more rigid than the Marketplace. The Mods expect decent grammar and for you to not only post in the correct forum, but also check to see if your question has been answered before. Duplicate threads can be very annoying.

My bob's start off strong then they go into the blue and it seems they CBF'd they need a hurry along. I just give him a faster car and put tv on and he will win.

If you full-tune your Roadster, you won't have to babysit. I bought whatever the strongest (hp per weight) stock Roadster was in the Dealership and full-tuned it, left him alone, and he won by several laps.

Just set him off in a maxed out MX5, then dont need to check.

This is true, on Tsukuba, all of the opponents will eventually spread out along the track. This forces your driver(s) do almost always be in the act of overtaking someone, thereby causing their pace slider to move into the red. When I did this race, I only babysat until I had lapped the field twice and then left for work. 👍

I experimented on this one. My level 28 bob ran a stock Alfa Romeo 155 Touring Car(with OC 433bhp, about 50 bhp lower than those FR new ones) in the DTM event, and without any babysitting he won it. The other time I used my level 31 bob doing the same thing, and with me giving orders (to keep the pace up) he spun out twice on Nurburgring GP/D.
