To go joyriding I guess, but I reckon its because the robbers have no idea of taste. lol

No offence to you, I'm sure your taste is fine.

If only my budget would allow more.

It is sometimes boggling why people steal certain cars. And if you're not stealing a car to sell it, why are you stealing it?

As Sting said - Joyriding, and / or, banging through a shop window...

Around here, cars get stolen for one reason...a ride home. Unfortuantly my city is next to an Indian Reservation, and most of the time they leave the bar late and don't have a ride home so they'll steal a car and drive it out to the reserve and burn it. Obviously theres the matter of joy riders and people peforming insurance fraud, but when the top 3 areas for stolen vehicles all surround Native Bars/Hangouts and all the vehicles are found out on the reserve burnt to a crisp, you realize the reason behind the thefts pretty quickly.

This isn't claiming all Native Americans are car theives, nor is it meant to be hateful towards them, i'm merely stating a fact about my city, and the crime within it. The facts given have come from a report given by the city Police which was released this week (area's with the highest number of stolen vehicles) and the location from which they are retrieved have come from 2 different tow truck owner/operators (1 who is the cities main tow truck owner/operator) and both of whom have grown up with my parents and are good family friends.

You know the world is a sad place when you have to explain yourself after you say something like that.^

Sorry to hear about your car, dude.

I used to live in an area like that, where theft off the dealer lots was a problem. Now where I live it's bikes, and they're big here since you can ride them year-round and mountain biking is a big hobby around here. I know three people who have had their bikes stolen by indians (Yes, I know for a fact it was indians. They saw their bikes later on the reserve, but the cops' hands were tied - they couldn't do anything).

I'm sorry to hear that Native Americans in your are steal...... If it makes you feel any better, cars and bikes get stolen with or without Native Americans in the States. In Oregon, it's usually the druggies. 👎

That sucks, man. I can't stand the thought of my 318i being taken from me! :scared:

Though from the way you talk about it, perhaps your car didn't mean as much to you as mine does to me...

Still, a car is a car, and it costs money to replace... :ouch: :indiff:

I guess there's actually substantial drug trafficking along I-5 between Washington, Oregon, California, and British Columbia. They don't seem to bother anyone, though :)

Here, most of the car thievery takes place south of Seattle, in Pierce County, which is a white-trash haven. Tacoma is their Beverly Hills, even though it's a festering ****-hole, and home of the famous "Tacoma aroma". My 2nd cousin, once-removed (or something like that) is part of a white trash, cheat-the-government-to-get-a-piddly-****-welfare-check family. He has been in and out of jail several times, and once he was arrested for stealing a car and joyriding...when he was 14. From what I've been told, he's a "good boy" now, which I suspect means that he is not currently arraigned on armed robbery charges. So yeah, I wouldn't park my car down there...

We have a big problem with bike thefts here too, infact, if you drive past the centre square downtown, you'll see about 10-15 bike front tires or frames chained to bike posts. I'd like to meet the man who can pop-a-wheelie the entire way home on a bike he just stole. :scared:

Heres a funny story, me and my friend were sitting in his living room on his computer, and we look out the window to see a man walking down the street. Looking like the type to steal something, we jokingly yell to his dad "Hey, is your car locked? Cause if not, you better go lock it!". Just then we turn back around and watch the guy walk up onto his neighbours front porch, grab a bike thats obviously too sizes too small for him, and ride off down the street on it! We dropped to the floor laughing, and still laugh about it to this day.

Because its easy to steal.

First customer delivered audi RS4 got stolen 4 days later from its owner after thieves broke into the house and took the keys. Car is now suspected to be out of country.

HA!

The imfamous 'Tacoma Aroma.' Been there, done that. My aunt's car got ripped off right after she got outta the hospital for a liver transplant, right outside of tacoma.

It was an '83 scooby pos. I don't even remember what model. They found it a week later -- with used sirynges(sp?), and other stuff of the like.

Not a good place to reside, or even pass thru.

Sorry 'bout yer car, homie.

Sucks man,

I caught 2 punk kids and a girl ( maybe 16, 17 y/o) trying to break into my 1990 Dodge Shadow 5 years ago...they had a slim jim and a coat hanger, I seen them at midnight though my kitchen window, ran downstairs out the door, they bolted and I never even got a really good look at them, but two doors down from me had a shadow aswell, and that got busted later on that night ( morning ) just stupid punk kids....

Damn... I had problems with an Attempted Grand Theft-Auto....

They failed to steal the car but it just wasn't the same car afterwards....

Had grafitti (**** You and a B****) and they broke a couple of stuff in the car... :indiff:

I wish all these punks would just 'disappear'.

We've set our eyes on a new car now. 01 Mitsubishi Galant GDI in mint condition. Going for a test drive on saturday. :)

Sonnds like someone needed something with a clean title and inconspicousness to pull off a bigger crime.

or, they could have just taken it to strip the parts and sell them for a profit. THAT just makes me ill thinking about it. your poor Opel stripped nekkid and bare...

Glad you're getting a new one! Is that one of the Galants built at Mitsubishi Motors in Normal, IL?
