Thanks Bowtie, hope there was not too much action without me today.

NEW SPEC UPDATE:
The Camaros are unchanged from the previous update.
Challenger has no extra weight.
640HP: Motegi and Indy
650HP: Daytona and Road Courses

Does anyone have a good reference time? I have no idea how far from the best I am ^^

I have done round 1:14 (under and over) with Camaro (1260kg).

Ok good, think I did high 14s when i practised so I shouldn't be too far off then.

Hey can I join you guys I'd like a blue camaro with black wheels #4

Alright welcome Monteman!

I have a little question mark over my participation tomorrow.. Not sure I can make it but I'll try.

Hope to see you tomorrow niko.

Barring a work emergency which is always a possibility I should make it tomorrow.

I took the car out with CSLACR's tune on it and knew immediately it needed some tweaking for Deep Forest and to be able to run without the ballast. You can see I kept the toe, camber and ride height settings but the others are modified for this track as the original tune was a PP limited tune on Nurb GP/D.

I was able to run steady race pace laps of 1:13.2-1:13.5 with a best of 1:12.8 under the usual Lounge settings of Tire Wear On, Grip Reduction Real etc. Faster laps are possible on fully warm tires. It will require you to pay attention to the throttle, especially as the tires wear as there is a lot of HP/Torque on tap. Tire wear seemed very good, it should easily get 20 laps with less than half tire wear.

For the Dodge boys...

...snip....

Thank you Theo777...

Theo's tune was made for Nurb GP/D same as CSL's Camaro and will likely need some softening to accomodate the bumps and elevation changes of Deep Forest, same as CSL's Camaro. If you try it out and find it's a little too jittery or squirrely over the bumps try softening the springs and dampers a couple of points.

I am in the lounge practicing, feel free to join.

Oh, and Johnny I noticed a problem with your tune. The weight is at 1085 when it should be at 1260.

Sorry, I didn't realize we needed ballast till I showed up in the room and couldn't get in. I had enough time to move the ballast back and test with more aero and the car is just as fast as it was without the ballast. It's updated now if anyone wants to keep it. I did take it to HSR for a few laps with the same tune but longer gears and it'll probably be ok there with a little tweaking. If I get a chance I'll post a tune for there too.

I thought I had pushed Jammy into the cliff after the double left-hander on the last lap. I didn't hear any contact, which sometimes happens, but I looked in my rear view and saw him spinning I pulled over to wait:dunce:. I took a quick look at the replay and turns out I didn't make any contact:banghead: although it was awful close. Oh well, better safe than sorry!!!:gtpflag:

Close finish it was...good race!!

Sorry ace Ive got some people over today and that's why I didn't show today. Hope every thing went well.

Sorry i missed it, just had other arrangements today. Hope to see you next week.

Not yet watch the replay. I was suprised when i noticed that you stop waiting for me and i thought to bump your back but then there was someone same time (greest?) with us and i decided (seems right thing to do) to go pass you because there was chance that we all get to wall or grass.
Those last laps after you did pit stop were very exciting to me if i could hold you back but lap after lap you get closer.

Edit: Now i have watched replay. There was little contact on that corner before uphill. That contact changed my drivinglane and when i accelerated i almost spin - partly of that contact and partly of my bad accelerating.
After last caution when i noticed that i couldn't keep up with you i started took little easy and save my tires and trying to go all the way without pitstop. Hoping that no cautions come up anymore.
Whatta heck that was close race and fun one.
Ps.I must say i feel much more home on road cource than those ovals :)

How many were you? and did you really do low 13:s in these cars? because that is quite sick :)

There was 8. Camaros went round 1:13.0 - 1:13.3 and Challenger went 1:13.5-1:14.8
Johnny went 1:12.6.

Johnny,

Theo's set-up has alot of potential, but I just plain ran out of time. I believe given the time, I could have tuned it to my liking...👍

As my finish showed, my set-up sucked.

Is what it is...

Had fun anyways...:p

👍👍👍

I should have had a crack at tuning it myself but ran out of time. One thing I really like about these cars is they are a couple of the very few cars in GT5 that actually sound like race cars. While I enjoy driving the NSX's and Ferraris and the like, if I want something that sounds like a vacuum cleaner:yuck: or a hair dryer in a metal can:yuck: I can do that somewhere else. There's just no substitute for the sound of a big American V8:bowdown:

No worries Jammy, like I said, better safe than sorry...I still had a chance to take it anyway but the draft of the car in front of you got me...lol..

Yeah i tried to got as much as i could draft from greest :)

Sorry you missed Bowtie and niko, hope to see you both next week. Great race today everyone job well done. Only a couple cautions in the beginning, then some great green flag racing for the rest of the race.

Standings are updated in the OP. Jammy is looking like the driver to beat at the halfway point. But there are a lot of strong candidates in this field, so good luck to all and lets make the second half as good as the first.

Probably less cautions when i'm not there to mess things up ;) Jammy is looking unbeatable at the moment.. but it's only halfway yet!

Don't worry guys, i'm feet on the ground guy and i know that i have had lot of luck. So how knows what next races will bring to us :)

I know most of us near the top of the standings are fairly close to the points lead, but for some others its getting to the point of go big or go home. I believe that is why the second half is going to be a lot more intense than the first half. Based on the average finish and standings it looks like the top four drivers have the best shot at the moment, so we shall see.

Also, for anyone who missed out on the big announcement...There will be a 3rd car added to the lineup for next season. Only hint so far is it is from the sixtys.
