I prefer a neutral car with a slight oversteer bias for when I want to have some fun.
I like oversteer. Like it when the car slides out then you have to put it back on track and still be in front and let the cars in back in smoke LOL.. I can't drift though.. Hmm!
Over-Counter Steering is simply the best when driving FR/MR cars.
Don't the front tires lock up because ABS is off? And I) agree, seems like a braking problem, nothing to do with understeer (or atleast that's what I think anyway)
Do you prefer understeer or oversteer? Tell me which one you prefer and why. Also, have you voted?
Rykon ZeroUndersteer is simply frustrating, no matter what you're doing, and if you're any good at driving, I think oversteer is safer. As for my preference, neutral, with slight oversteer. Beautiful handling with that little extra kick when I want to have some fun.
now I wonder which one more people would prefer. Wow thats an obvious question. I hate the feel of understeer
im geussing counter steering for too long or too hard and crashingWhat's Over-Counter Steering?
Ferrari_1996What are your reasons? And you are the first person that has meantioned prefering understeering. Why is this? I hate understeer.
iamsupernastyLike I said, I don't think anyone actually wants a car that plows. They simply prefer a car that doesn't oversteer, and would take a tight car over a super loose one because it's more manageable and consistent.
It's becomes an even harder question to answer though, because the same car can exhibit both characteristics depending on how it's driven.
My gymkhana STI 07 loves oversteer and i know just the right amount of countersteer
Ferrari_1996Good for you. Oversteer is awesome, especially if you can correct it with just the right amount of countersteer.
That is a hard one
F1 cars are set up to over-steer at the limit, as when it is controlled it allows for faster cornering.
You want a little bit of over-steer during trail braking to the apex to get the car round, and then neutral-slightly loose on exit so you can exit the corner with good acceleration without losing rear traction.
Yes I voted Oversteer, but if you are at the point where you have to do major counter-steering corrections, you are not benefiting from it.
The more the tyres spin and slide, the slow you go.
It's a good feeling when you tune a car to your preference perfectly however, and you feel the car whip around the corner when it is at the limit.
Am I the only one that doesn't find counter-steering fun? I mean when I am purposely drifting in a drift trial it is fun to do, but it just feels like I am going so slow if i'm racing hot laps. IMO the most satisfying thing in this game is when you turn in perfect with only slight over steer, clip the perfect apex completely neutral, before unwinding the steering lock and feeding in the throttle to accelerate out with only the tiniest hint of under steer causing you to drift wide.
