Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of

towards the end - "**** you, i won't do what you tell me!"

Oh yes, that's a mighty cool riff.

On a Van Halen note, the intros to "5150" and "Summer Nights" are pretty damn awesome.

I used to get goosebumps from that song every day back in high school. The intro to Hot For Teacher can do it, too. But Unchained is awesome.

Metallica- One. the whole song rocks.

Especially when it breaks into the sparse, choppy thrash part and the words go:

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell...

And then right here, too. Excellent metal.

The intro to Fight Fire with Fire with the classical sounding acoustic guitar slowly giving way to that crunchy distortion, totally bad-ass sounding speed rythym. When I first heard that back in 1984 or so, I thought to myself "where has this been all my life?"

I like that one too, but the opening two handed tapping of Mean Streets gives me goose bumps. The guitar solo on the song 5150 on the Live Without A Net video is also quite amazing.

I have yet to get Live Without a Net. I got Right Here, Right Now for Christmas but eventually I'm going to get LWAN. :)

Rage Against The Machine - Sleep Now In The Fire. I absolutely love the part when Zack finishes yelling and Tom Morello goes into his solo, makes me want to just stand up and scream.

My copy of Live Without A Net was so worn out, I had to get a new one. I watch it that much. It's the first tour with Sammy Haggar.

I bought a brand new, never opened LWAN on eBay about 10 months ago. The grand total was $10.98. The guy had more than one copy, his name is ibob9000. Maybe he still has some copies available.

Right Here, Right Now is not as good, IMO. I didn't like the tones of Eddie's guitar sound. I never liked the early models of his Peavey 5150 amps. However, the 5150 II's sound a whole lot better. Eddie's guitar solo wasn't that great either, compared to the guitar solo in LWAN. I think he was a little too drunk to play it well, plus he was getting tired of doing it and it shows. Mikey's bass solo in LWAN is much better too. The ending of it still gives me goose pumps the size of golf balls.

This is a must get for you if you liked RH,RN. You'll love it, so long you get past Eddie's balloon pants, and Sammy's silly hair style, and all those bandannas.

:AFI-Days of the Phoenix
:AFI-God Called in Sick Today

Good list Ethix, I'm glad your seeing the light, and showing Tool some love. You should check out Tools' cover of No Quarter. Then "Push It" off Aenima. Then check out "Parabola" off Lateralus. ;)

I've been listening to Lateralus constantly since I got it. It goes in my car when I go out and it goes in my cdrom when I'm on my computer. I only picked up Aenima yesterday though so I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it all the way through. It's good so far though. :)
