I agree with a lot of the suggestions here, and would like to use this, my first post, to list my/club suggestions.
Also, suggestions are fine, but sometimes they would be better with the reason for suggestion. So, where fitting, I will include that info.
General Suggestions:
- I wouldn't mind the credits trading limit for cars if we could trade more than one normal car a day.
- Add the ability to "buy" paint from GT Auto
- More wheel selections for Premium cars and add wheel changing to Standard cars. If licensing is the issue, create your own?
- Be a stand out car/racing/sim game and give us something almost no other game has ever given us.....a 70-73/74-81 Chevrolet Camaro!!!
- 1/4 mile drag strip with launch lights with ability to launch bracket style (delayed launch per lane). At the very least, just the strip w/ launch lights
- The physics of the draft in this game are horrendous. We'd like to see MUCH more realistic draft physics, especially in NASCAR races. In fact, most of the physics applied to the NASCAR section of this game are almost laughable. They desperately need some serious tweaking. For one, NASCAR cars cannot go 214 mph at Daytona, or anywhere. Not even in a drafting situation. In real life, they MIGHT touch 200-205 for a second or two IN A DRAFT, but not on their own.
- The ability to lock lounges to invites only, and/or the ability to kick users from lounges.
- Take away the ability of users other than the lounge owner to change settings!! It's MY lounge, why can anyone in there change MY settings????
As an admin for an online racing game club, here are some suggestions that would benefit our online racing experiences. We have developed a Trans Am Racing Series style series that we race on GT5 (and other racing games) and as well we are in the process of starting an IROC type series on GT5. The following suggestions would help us make our series' more realistic and fair, and I'm sure would be beneficial to many GT5 players out there.
- For both series, we would like the ability to save, lock and share car setups, or share the cars themselves with the setups locked. For the T/A series, we use 3 cars with each car being tuned to run lap times within .5-1 second of each other, but each having it's own strengths and weaknesses. At present, we simply share the settings to input into the settings page. But we fear that some racers change some of these settings to gain an advantage. We would like to see it where we can set these cars up, lock the settings, and then distribute the cars to the racers and they cannot change any of the settings. This would also aid us in the IROC series, where every car is set up exactly the same. In lieu of this, at the very least, expand the "borrow-a-car" system to work in online lounges or allow them to be chosen from the garage instead of limiting it the "Recommended" cars.
- Also for the T/A series events, two of the three cars we use can be RM'd. However, the third one, the Shelby GT350R cannot be. We would like more cars, especially classic muscle cars, to be RM capable, so that we could have a larger car selection for our racers to choose from.
- Our club originated in Midnight Club: LA, and that is also where our T/A series originated. But we also have some great vinyls designers, and many of our racers recreated classic T/A cars in the game. We would LOVE to have this ability in GT5 by having a vinyl editor such as those in MCLA and Forza 3 (combining their abilities would be awesome).
- It would help our series' realism if there was a way to implement yellow flags into the races, if wanted. This would be made even better if the yellow flags could be "thrown" by players who are watching the event. For our series, we have 2-3 "observers" who look for rules violations etc., and it would be awesome if they could have the ability to "throw" a yellow flag when they observe an incident. Along with this, we'd like to have the ability to choose whether laps run under the yellow count off total laps.
- To aid in a realism factor, we use the GT Skyline Pace Car to run a pace lap for each race. For realism, we would like to see the lightbar working again as it did in GT4. If it could be taken a step further, it would be cool to have a couple more styles of pace cars with working lights as well. Or even better, make the safety lights an upgrade WE could choose a car to put them on.
- We would like to see a couple more US tracks added. Mainly Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio and a couple more NASCAR tracks, mainly Bristol, Atlanta and Michigan/California. In lieu of this, we would like the ability to truly CREATE tracks in the Course Creator.
- We would like to see some kind of interaction/control with the pit crews during a pit stop. Maybe something like quickness relevant to button presses or something similar. Or the ability to "train" the pit crews much like "training" the B-Spec drivers, and have the pit crews be able to level up.
- Have the option of how many tires to change during a pit stop.
Thank you for listening.
