Patch 1.09 Wishlist

I think even more people would buy GT6 if they get it right.

They aren't going to preorder it, that's for sure!

Look, think of it like this:

If GT4 had sucked, how many would have bought GT5? Heck of a sight fewer, IMO. And many would have not got it after they read the reviews (10/10 physics, 5/10 game).

But GT4 was great, so everybody jumped in blind, expecting no LESS than before.

I find it hard to believe some are either so gullible or trusting to expect GT6 to be a guaranteed improvement over GT5, when GT5 wasn't an improvement (as a GAME) over GT4.

But, apparently, I may be wrong...

How about an adjustment for the logitech wheels to fix the deadzone problem? Driving the Ferrari F10 feels like the wheel is about to self destruct.

Removal of Loeb and Vettel challenges.

Why? Because it's difficult? So what?

I had one go at it (the Monza race) with DS3 and that was it. Never thought about again it until now. Got my Red Bull livery X2010 at lvl35 b-Spec and hardly ever use it. It's just not my kind of car. I don't see why the challenge should be removed altogether though. It's just there. How on earth it can bother anyone to the point where they wish its removal is beyond me.

Back on topic: progress save and proper playback controls in replay mode are on top of my wish-list.

The marketplace like Forza has it and.. Oh wait that wouldn't be that exciting since the cars can't be personalized...

Made the font smaller so it takes up less space.

Fix the clipping with the X1 when it pits
The flag or whatever you call it clips into the canopy when the car's lifted up.

Have a proper paint preview
That little model just doesn't cut it. I'd like to actually see it on my car. :drool:
This request, in particular, would help some poor blokes that try to paint their Race-Modified Corvette ZR1.

Make the course maker more like a course maker
Because it's not a course maker, it's a course RANDOMIZER

Paint store
Of course this means they'd have to quit with the daily paint chips.

Practice and Qualifications lap before every race
Because it's sooooo realistic to start out in the same places alll the time. Of course have the option to skip it

Fix the issues with the shadows and smoke
It's annoying. At the very LEAST FIX IT IN PHOTOMODE! That's where everything needs to look good.

Persistent damage
Damage that lasts even after a race. Would help make the chassis restoration option a bit more life-like. I'm like ":scared: WTF IS THIS?! MY CAR LOOKS FINE! I DON'T NEED TO WASTE 500,000 ON RESTORING THIS!"

More noticeable wear during races
I'm not saying take damage up even further. I'm saying if I run through dirt or sand, at least have some wear and tear on the paint job. I'm not really a low level, either. And coming out of a harsh crash looking nearly flawless is just not right. And coming out of sand and dirt looking nice and shiny isn't right, either.

More EXP levels 33 and later
:grumpy: Just because

Allow the sale of any car
The restrictions are in place now.. can we now be to sell valuable cars that we don't want to use?

Be able to save multiple tunes per car
Because it's annoying to have to go in, change settings and all that for one race, then have to go through the hassle of going back and changing it back. Being able to select a presaved tune I made myself would be a godsend.

Fix the darned net code!
Waiting 15 seconds for a menu to change or a whole minute to receive prizes from my Bob's remote races is just horrible. :yuck:

To combat duping and to make tuning and trading more relevant...

Step 1 - Stop free trades altogether
Step 2 - Create an online market place to buy and sell cars
Step 3 - Give the seller the opportunity to set the price limit (Minimum what UCD buys from you in game or sale price in UCD/Dealership)
Step 4 - Give tuners the opportunity to lock out changes or modifications to sold cars so people can't copy the settings and parts list over to another car and sell thus stopping the replication of cars.

This way dupers will be out of business as they won't want to buy their own cars back to duplicate them, also it would open a market of tuners able to sell cars to the masses either make hundreds of cars and sell cheap or make one off's and seek for high price.

Also more cars and tracks would be a welcome addition too.

Rims on standard cars would be nice and bigger selection of rims for Premiums too.

Allow us to sell any car and a paint store would be nice

Oh and more race modifiable cars too (at least all/most premiums)

  • Change wheels on standards. The AE86's rims look like crap. :yuck:

4- Painting stock rims (seems to be everyones fave)

Make it possible to colorize stock rims.

- More rims and for standard cars, too.

Hum, does anyone remember the famous "Today's Special" tab on the wheel shop in GT4? I want that back, even if it only includes the stock wheels of premium cars, putting those awesome SLS rims on my C63 should be a right granted by law dammit. :P

The wheels available in the GT Auto shop are just too ricey to my tastes.

The number one priority for me is wheel situation in GT5. My standards need some love.👍

Allow us to choose which car classes we're racing against in arcade mode. I don't want to be racing rally cars on road racing tracks with my Le Mans prototype.

I want to see a star next to the B spec drivers button (similar to the one you get on Community when a Gift arrives) to show that someone has used your drivers for Remote Racing.

A "D-Spec" mode that allows you to own, tune, trade and race every single car in the GT5 garage without having to earn anything.

I like 4. Something like that was kinda what I was looking forward to in GT5.

Plus Id like;
[bold]Multiple car tunes[/b]
annoying needing to change settings for something like my ZR-1 for Indys banking, the 'Ring and other tracks, races or online.
Same for drift cars I want rather than needing two or three of each car with differen setups

[bold] engine swaps [/bold]
just for a little more variety and make some cars alot cooler but nothing rediculus all the same like X1 engines in a midget etc as people will just make a joke of it so maybe at least keep to the same manufacturer or something.

[bold] custom livery [/bold]

Just so we can replicate our own favourite race cars or even our own track cars. Would also make online racing far more interesting.

[bold] More cars that are very popular in real life [/bold]

Specifically E30s :)
Coupled with engine swaps, I'd be very very happy!

More online requirements/filters (model year, manufacturer, drivetrain, 2-16 cylinders, <displacement grouping>, view, <ideal weight>)

I'm really satisfied with the game. But, of course there are some wants for the next patch (1.08).

For example:

-During online qualifying sessions, when people pull into the pits their screen name should still remain on the HUD rankings. Currently, once you pull into the pits your time still stands but your screen name disappears from the HUD rankings. The only way to keep your name there is to park somewhere on the track once you're finished qualifying. Of course you could always continue qualifying, but during longer qualifying periods I usually find my maximum pace before the session ends.

-A "NO RACE MODEL" filter for online races. This is an important one! Also, a "NASCAR ONLY" filter too, at least once a night we have to kick a couple people who try to race a Veyron against us.

-The ability to save your game during endurance races. I have not raced a single endurance because of the omission of this feature, and I will most likely continue to refrain from competing in those events. It's unrealistic to make people run their PS3's for hours/days on end.

-Custom soundtracks while playing online when you're using a headset. Everyone has different tastes of music, and mine doesn't match with PD's. The only song that I like on the playlist are the **** Button's track, "The Lisbon Maru." Currently, 95% of the time I am playing online, this addition would be so nice.

-Server upgrades. During peak-online hours the frequency of black screens are on the rise as more people than ever are playing GT5.

-Create your own championship for online or offline play. I think this is a great idea, does anyone else? It can be even a rudimentary championship, like just 3-5 races, simple points and what not. The players need to be able adjust to the laps per race, too. If there is just a standard "lap" option you don't want to set it for 1 just because you have the Nordschleife as a venue. It must be set "per-race." Lately, I've been racing with a group of folks on a nightly-basis, and I think it would be a fun way to liven up our usual routine.

Now the 2.0 updates, let see some additions...

-Some new road course and oval circuits would be such a nice gift to your users' PD. We spend the money and we've now developed a rich online community. Rumor has it that PD have been to Spa-Francorchamps to study the circuit, we'd love to see it come to fruition. Also some extra NASCAR courses would be great. Indy and Daytona are both flat out circuits, if you add tracks like Las Vegas, Dover, or Darlington, it would supplement the NASCAR portion of the game with a nice dose of variation.

-Upgrading some standard cars to premium. Kaz is on the record for saying that this will happen.

Ditch A-Spec and the whole driving aspect of GT5 because there are cheaters who use rubberband grinding to earn money!

Make B-Spec the only mode of the game!

You're joking right? Who would buy a driving game without actually letting the player be able to drive?:dunce:

Here are my suggestions:

1. Be able to use standard cars in photo travel. It really doesn't make sense that only premium cars are allowed, and this is only made worse by the fact that you can see standard cars in the photo travel locations of the main menu. Oh, and standard cars don't look ugly; they look fine.
2. Name your AI & B-Spec Driver. If all your opponents have names, why not name them yourself? It could be your friends' names or your family's names, or even your rival's names. Same applies to B-Spec Driver; finding a random name is not fun at all.
3. Remove the leveling system. This is just my opinion, but I hated the leveling system from the very beginning. I've played Gran Turismo since the first game, and I can say that the leveling system is not user-friendly, especially to new players of GT5. You need to reach a certain level to do a certain race. You need to reach a certain level to buy that car. I just find that leveling system unfair. I think that all cars should be available to use, and that all races should be restricted to licenses, just like before.
4. Put some used cars in the dealership as new cars. It's no fun trying to find our favorite car after every race. Some of these cars, like the Toyota GT-ONE and the Suzuki ESCUDO, should go back to the dealersihp.
5. Be able to pick the time and weather of any track that has those features.
6. Simplify the track menu. Like, put the option of time/weather change and forward/reverse all in one track. The track selection menu seems very disorganized.
7. Allow us to set the view of the car in options. Every time I start Gran Turismo 5 and then start a race, I am always at the mirror view of the car. Please put the option to set the view of the car back.
8. Fast-Forward the B-Spec. Not all of us can sit through a boring 20-lap Tsukuba race, or a 24h Nurburgring race. Please bring the fast-forwarding back.
9. The ability to save in championship and endurance race.
10. An opportunity for DLC. Being able to download tracks and cars, that is. Though this may be introduced as a 2.0 or higher update
11. Custom BGM for Used Car Dealership, the menu before the race, when you win a race, and others that I may have missed.
12. Be able to switch music during racing. This is especially true if you end up with a song you've already listened to. Midnight Club was able to do this, why not Gran Turismo?
13. Create custom events/championships, with the latter for Arcade Mode (both single and two-player battle).

That's all I can think of for now. I'm actually new to this forum, so I hope my ideas are alright.

Does anything else really need to be said? If PD do it this way, i will never by another ps3 game and by 1000 new ps3 just in case the old one breaks.

my 2 cents ...
- Set a password in online lobby
- Ability to track backwards or forwards though a replay for PhotoMode use.and improve netcode
- Change some of the more popular/famous standard cars to premium editions
- Ability to change the rims of standard cars

- Improve the lame pixelated shadow and smoke effects
- Give more variation to the blow-off valve sound... it's the same in EVERY car 👎
- Rim options on standard cars would be choice too. My real-life car is a GT-B Legacy WR-Limited edition... I have a WRC Blue GT-B in GT5, but can't get the gold rims!

I see a lot of requests for cars & tracks, items that would be DLC. By definition, a software patch is a small repair job used to fix things like bugs. Those of you looking for new cars, events and the like in a simple patch are only setting yourselves up for more disappointment.

For the next patch I would like:

-Save during endures;

-Let the smokes (from the tires, the dust lifted from the grass, sand,...) last longer;
http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums...-the-smokes-from-the-tires-the-dust-lifted-fr

-Cars keep the dirt or the snow 'till the cars are washed;

-Cars get damaged faster (for obvious reasons);

-Cars keep the damage, 'till they're fixed;
http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums...eep-the-damage-untill-they-re-fixed?ref=title

-Get a feature in the GT Auto to fix the cars;
http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums...-get-a-feature-in-the-gt-auto-to-fix-the-cars

-Make the wipers completly manual (eg: so we can make them stop even while it's raining);
http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums...ions/1570625-make-the-wipers-completly-manual

-Make the rear wipers work when the front ones are activated ('cause they aren't working at all).
http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums...the-rear-wipers-work-when-the-front-ones-are-

I know it's asking for a lot, but it's rather simple stuff that will make the game more enjoyable, for me at least.

Edit: Plus something that can't be that hard, actually being able to select to our "taste" the settings for the tracks in training (GT Life) and Arcade Mode, as we can in online mode (time of the day, weather....)
And make the Nurburgring, non 24 hours, of the online mode (which only has weather cycle), like the one in training that besides that, also have day cycle.
