This is ridiculous. It isn't €0,99 for a top gear episode.
It's €1,98, and that's the discount prize!!!

The episodes are split into 2 parts, each costing €0,99.

Sorry, but i won't pay that much just to RENT it for 2 weeks.

The longest video is a bit less than 40 minutes long.
for example:
D1 round 1 Ebisu 2008 consists of 2 videos.
part 1 is 40 minutes long and part 2 is 20 minutes long.
Both cost €0,99 to rent for 2 weeks.
That's €1,98 for 1 hour of movie!!!

+that prize doubles after these first 2 weeks.

Complete bull**** if you ask me. Too expensive.

SUPERGT! I just watched a couple of the 2008 first race clips on youtube, WTF?!?!? WTF!?!?! I say again WTF!?!?! I live in the US, North Carolina. Americans LOVE bad ass cars. WHY ARE WE STUCK WITH NASCAR? WTF? WHY DO WE NOT HAVE $H1T LIKE THIS? WTF? I feel like I have just been molested. Like I just opened my parents closet and saw the presents that are supposed to be from Santa, like I just took a peek at my Mom exchanging my tooth for a quarter. Is this stuff for real? There MUST be some kind of government conspiracy to prevent Americans from watching racing like this here. I really hope and pray that Gran Turismo T.V. breaks through our Ricky Bobby barrier here in America. Pour this amazing kind of racing down our throats like a pepsi Sponsorship. I wish I could find an english translation of those movies. What other kinds of sick racing do they do throughout the world that we Americans get censored from watching?
Ahem, check my sig and click on the link for ALMS pictures. Those are from Ohio.

Or feel free to go to www.americanlemans.com
I also have another photo gallery that is of ALMS from 2006 at Road Atlanta.

It is not the same as Super GT but it is still very exciting. We also have many small GT-style series that float around.

The problem is that when they try to televise them the majority of Americans prefer to watch NASCAR.

And now you know why I want GT-TV to bring me quality race footage that does not make it on to American TV.

Pricing is ridiculous. Unles they introduce a more subscription based service(say pay$5 a month to download as much as you want, and be able to access those videos for a month), not many people are going to use GTTV

LOL this might get me in trouble on the forums but can I just find what shows they will air on GT-TV and youtube them for free?

What you do on your own time is up to you, but do not use GTP to discuss where, how, or when you do it.

Agreed, the pricing is a joke. And 14 days? what if Itunes only let you keep your TVshows and music for 14days? Then Steve Jobs would be without work in split second. GT TV was a big disappointment.

Pay for short, advertising videos ? Am I crazy or what ?

They can plug their PPV movies elsewhere but not to my PS3...

No way I will ever pay for one single video.

Gotta agree. GT-TV's pricing is out of line. I'm not a big fan of the PPV model anyway. I wouldn't mind paying $2 for an episode of Top Gear if it were mine to keep and watch, regardless of whether I'm online or offline.

yeah id buy it if the content was there forever, evan if gt-tv has to be launched, but paying so much for a 14 day video is out of order, top gear for example can be watched on iplayer or dave for free, or if you add up the price you would pay for them episodes you could go out and buy a dvd without all the boring parts of the show in it

I simply do not see buying TG episodes from 5 seasons ago. Even BBC America have more recent episodes.

If PD wants to charge us money, at least give us something that actually worth it.

In the UK we are being charged 69p per 2 vids. Some of them are pretty good. I spend £3 for a pint of lager/beer when i'm out, so 69p is not much if the vids are entertaining. They are cheaper than I thought they would be.

I think the rental idea is a bit pants, i wouldn't mind paying £2.00 maybe, but for a vid i keep on my hdd not one that gets pinched after 14 days,
Having said that i am downloading the first D1 vid:dopey:

GTTV isn't even working in USA yet. I downloaded the update mostly to see what vids they will have available and found that it isn't going to work untill further notice. grr

A 2 part download is still 99 cents, i tested it ;)

I don't know if I just found another issue I really don't like about GTTV. The idea in essance is great! For example the Nürburgring 24h stuff will be fantastic when it's available and the Ferrari ep 1 wasn't too bad. Too short though.

However, when I had watched the Ferrari episode it seems it "dissapeared" from my list!? Can it really be that I can only watch it ONCE? The 14 day limit I don't like but I guess I could live with it, I mean how long do you really keep stuff like that anyway? But, I DO want to be able to watch the stuff I bought more than once!

Can anyone please confirm for me that I haven't just made a mistake?

Cheers!

I thought Polophony would squash out a few of the issues with online play...I was in a race in Suzuka and a random player managed to actually 'teleport' to the first corner before the race had actually started.

I downloaded the two vids in the best motoring section of GT-TV. When I watched them, they were grainy looking in standard definition and appeared as a small square on my TV. Very dissapointing.

I was on Suzuka last night, and a guy cut right accross the grass where the esses section is after the first turn. He kept doing it every lap and didn't get a penalty for it:crazy: also been punted into sand traps without the other car getting a penalty for it. also, in certain TT events, people are STILL getting away with barrier bumping. I can't see where the penalty system has had any real improvements to it.

Back on topic. I won't be paying for any more PPV unless it gets improved.

Ive seen people do that before the update

I know, this update is a joke, it's just been done to promote GT-TV.
PD have claimed that this update was going to improve the penalty system, which it hasn't, then i'm starting to wonder what the final GT5 will turn out to be.

One thing that could use some improvement IMHO is the subtitling on the videos, for example the Ferrari inside look or the GT-R Another Story. The subtitles are very hard to read on bright backgrounds. Of course I mostly watch the videos for the visuals, but still it's nice to know what they're talking about. :)

always thought the same myself, i was thinking maybe a llittle transparent black bar behind the text so you could see it

Download speeds are greatly improved, i just downloaded 4 videos (+/- 2 GB) within 30 minutes with 20 Mbit (1.5 MByte effective) ADSL 👍

I've seen this on You Tube. Typically there is a penalty, but it doesn't slow you down any faster than the grass itself and is almost gone by the time they get back on track. The cut is usually enough to jump up three spots.

I think the best way to fix it would be to have the penalty take effect when they come back on track, not while off track. And I think that off-track penalties should differentiate between going off and actually jumping positions. In real-life if you go off but don't gain anything, or affect anyone else, from it there is typically no penalty as you've likely created more problems for yourself. If you gain a position due to it then they usually make you give it up.

If PD could get the off-track penalties to only count if you gain position, and after getting back on track, that would work much better. It is annoying to spin, have everyone pass you, and then have a penalty slowing you from getting back on track.

Yeah, bought everything at the discounted price to check it all out, but short of race footage that I really want to see I can't see paying $1.99 or more for a rental.

pay per view, its called that for a reason ;)
I figured that would be the case from the start, but I think the issue is that they are asking for us to pay the same or more as a pay-to-own purchase on the PSN video store and iTunes.

Overall I like the service. It gives me a chance to see things I normally wouldn't, the background downloading is nice, and the download speeds aren't too bad for me. But at the cost they are asking for a rental I will have to heavily weigh if the value is worth it.

Hopefully we will get some stuff that doesn't expire over time.

Totally agree with that. It's so annoying when your going through the esses on Suzuka and some goon that was way behind you, cuts accross the grass and ends up 2 places ahead of you. :banghead:
