You all saw the news, its on the front page. So I assume the graphic designing will be at 2x speed, and DLC might be coming in at 1 pack per month rather than 2 months, but what do you think this will mean for GT?

Only 4 1/2 years for GT6, and then only 7 months for updates/DLC.

I would imagine the new resources would be taking over GT5 while the more experienced ones would move over to GT6.

This makes good sense. I'd say it's this and they're adding a little more to the number of workers.

The amount of ignorance on the forums just pisses me off: oh, they didn't add my car that has some trim nobody's heard of. Oh, they aren't adding many supercars to the DLC. Oh, the X1 is unreal ruins this sim (FYI: this is a game, not a sim, same for all the "super PC sims"). Oh, they should have X feature of else I'm quiting/not buying the game.



If you don't want to support PD, even just 1%, just GTFO, please. Nobody here wants to hear your whining.


On topic: I'm going to have to say its more for pushing DLC out faster and getting GT6 done quicker. Unless people have quit for a legitimate reason and they need more people.

I was under the impression you arent suppose to attack someone with personal insults.

Sorry to break it to you, not everyone shares your opnions on the game or Kaz. Some people who dont want to see another GT5 (5 being the worst in the series according to some) dont share your view.

And what does Forza have to do with anything? Stop being so touchy and realize other people have views....that dont always line up with yours.

Why don't you go run a small video game company and see how it goes. I do have to agree on the sounds though.

Small like PD? Sure give me 60 million and I might be able to get a game out in 5-6 years. I wont even go race, and Ill learn Japanese if I have to, and Ill throw in good sounds. See, already I can do a better job than Kaz

No. They do the same as Turn10 does. Build their GT6 (Forza 5) and make new cars (like the Vanquish) for GT6 (FOrza 5) and but them in lower quality in to GT5 (Forza 4). This is what they do.

Maybe some developer will still work on GT5 but not on tracks or cars.... They will make the patches for us. And even that could be in GT6.

Otherwise they would build 2 models of the same cars and would have alot wastet time. Notice: Downgrade is much easier then upgrade a car. And it´ll be on the premium car level.

And if they dont do it this way. We find a lot standard cars in Gt6 -.-

I hope they work on the sound of every car. Some premium sounds arent different since GT1

Why don't you read the AUP and not attack other members, also you're not a mod so you don't decide who stays or goes. Also not everyone has to be sheeple to the PD bandwagon as you demonstrate, people can like a game but still criticize it. You also had to make this a GT vs FM comment at the start, so you're trying to get the thread closed this early already? Wow and you're the one talking about "ignorance on the forums". Yes it can be taxing to see your game get slammed by others, but why would you make GT or any game for that matter some kind of dogma, to get your feeling hurt over. As long as you like GT5 comments like that shouldn't get to you and we know that Kaz wont be stepping down or be replaced.

Towards the hiring, I think the senior guys will be split in half to get the new people up to date, I can't see hiring a bunch of new guys with out oversight or some type of system in place to keep the same quality coming out.

That's an ignorant comment if I've ever seen one. PD has about 200 employees. You think that having "60 million" makes a video game just magically amazing? Do you have any idea how hard it is to produce a game? Get a grip.

Actually there's a lot of independent enthusiast like you and me that do it on their own time with very limited resources and do a hell of a better job than PD does!
Just Google Enduracers, Sandrox, GPFan, Simbin, WSGT2 to name a few!

What made you assume it will be 2x speed? It doesn't say how many they are hiring, or how many they have doing this job now. It could be anything from a 10% increase of work force to well over 1000%. So we have no idea how much this will improve their production speed, it's all merely guessing. Besides, graphic design (if indeed the translation is correct, last time I checked this ad was in Japanese) is usually about making 2-dimensional visuals, like logotypes and such. Sure, textures might be included as well (but I wouldn't call making textures "design") but for the speed of creating DLC packs, the modelling assistant is probably a lot more important. That's where I suspect the textures are created as well, if indeed the translation of "graphic design" is correct.

They do a good job, that's for sure. But better than PD? Not even close. Well, maybe they could do a good jobb improving some obsolete standard models, but not more than that. (Reading bout Sandrox makes it sound like they are rather copying models from other games and converting them to rFactor - that's hardly how it's done at PD. I also doubt it's legal...)

Also, those independent artists are hardly "like you and me". My guess is that they are highly skilled semi-professionals.
