Really? Do they get a lot of stuff before its shown?

I could watch the whole series in one go.

Yes,i watched the Three wise men special on Streetfire.net around christmas time.I'm from the US so most of the top gear episodes will be on there before they come on BBCA in the states. They have the Australian Top Gear episodes and the Us Top gear Episodes too. They have a lot of seasons just type Top Gear in the search bar.

I think he means the Van. Not the top gear episode.

No,i meant the Top Gear episodes. This van raced a Holden Ute on Top Gear Australia and beat it badly.I saw the episode on Streetfire.net.

Transits are British
'The first Ford Transit proper was introduced in October 1965, and has been in continuous production in three basic generations to the present day. The van was produced initially at Ford's Langley facility in Berkshire, England'

Ford is american, but are multinational as some of there cars origin in Germany some England etc
Ford have different companies in different countries owned by the big one in america (well they used to)

FORD OF BRITAN was responsible for the transit, and the Ford GT40 race car :)

(correct me if i am wrong)

they weren't completely responsible for the GT40, it was actually the only real collaboration between ford amerca and ford of europe. ford amerca tuned up the engine, ford of europe (ford UK) tuned the chassis, and two american teams (holman & moody and shelby american) ran the cars at Le Mans and daytona.

that's what made the project so brilliant, the notoriously split apart ford banded together all of it's performance divisions with the unified goal of defeating ferrari (side note: it didn't take much to convince caroll shelby to help defeat ferrari, it was a hobby of his throughout the 60s)

The van is a goodwood van and was at the festival of speed I remember walking in and seeing it going by and turning to my Dad and we both looked at each other and laughed. That was the only reaction you could have as it looked cartoon ish.

Heres a video

A similar thing happened to me and my dad. In one of the paddocks and saw a van, then realised it had stickers on the side, XJ220 wheels and some custom gauges in the front, plus a racing helmet. Recognized it instantly when it appeared on TG

I think you'll find the GT40 chassis came originally from Lola.

You watched the Australian version, this was the UK version shown on Sunday. Obviously it was shown on both so will feature mostly the same footage, but from each point of view.

I would love to see them add the Espace F1 as well as the X5M and X6M and my Lexus RX330:dopey: Since I traded in my 350z I don't have a car in the game anymore weep weep.

Actually I remember BMW did a car just like the Espace F1. It was the X5 LM. I had a Motor Trend or Car and Driver magazine back in the day with it. If I remember correctly it was blue with gold mesh look rims. I think it did the Ring too. Would love to see it in the game as well.

Original prototype had a V12 as intended for the production model but they ended up with a V6 due to costs.

That's not the point, oh, and all the Jaguar purists went nuts over this. The V12 was awesome, mjeh. Only in a E-type with a manual gearbox.

But the Van stays a V6 3.5 liter Justin Law Transit Van. Not a V12.

And Ken Block.

Ken Block , as much as i love his gymkhana videos, spends most of his time crashing :D

Does anyone here remember the old cosworth powered Ford super van. probably not the first bonkers transit, but the earliest i can remember! :)

Cosworth.. ahh but theres a name thats shamefully left out of the gt series!

I remember this one, was in one of the Colin McRae games:

Mercedes 190 Evo uses a Cosworth engine. 👍

I watched this epsisode for the first time lastnight. As soon as i seen the wheels i said that's an XJ220 van.
