Lol you realize they just tuned the cars the second they came in the room... Hardly a challenge. Lets get to a reasonable pp and you'll get a real challenge, OR, just run normal cars and not pp races... Detuning a car for a specific pp imo is useless because its not at full power.. Obviously.

Sorry but I'm gonna agree with ptk on this. Although you have a snazzy idea, it sucks detaining cars to try run at a limit. Instead, why not run slower cars I.e. a STR '03 against an ARC, or Evo 9 (RM) against Evo 8.. Doesn't have to be massive difference, but enough to know its gonna be a close finish.

I have actually been looking at a few cars near stock power and they seem to run better with full weight. Getting fast cars at such low PP is difficult but it can be done. When he reaches the 550 and up area im sure more of us will have better cars for him but what can you do.

👍

Tuning really low pp cars is a bit of a diversion, how many pp is a fully tuned Subaru spec c or 22b with no aero? Gonna try and make it back tonight. just don't know what I'm gonna run.

What was everyone running for 400 pp ?

What I like about Performance Points tuning is the thrill of finding a vehicle that will run great times after been tuned at that specific PP level, I think is a greater challenge for all of us.

I was at that level...using my Lancia, the other guys where trying different vehicles to beat it with, but with no results...until they left frustrated, so far I'm undefeated at Levels 400, 450, at 500 lost to an mr2 using my Hyundai but after that I retuned my Hyundai to 2/10's of a second faster, can't wait for next 500pp event.

To help the community I want to post a few times at 400PP.
I have found about 4 at 14.6 and 3 running 14.3. There are a few that made me die a bit on the inside and ran 14.8 but I found 1 gem thats hitting mid 14.1. Suprise suprise it a friggin FF  Once I have it set in my mind that I cant find another car to get to 14 flat Ill move on to tuning something for 450, 500 and so on until I feel satisfied.

I hope to be able to run 550 tonight, should be interesting...won't be around on ps3 though till around 1:30 am :guilty:

Yea not a lot of people at all.
I have the Accord Euro R tuned well at 400PP its my only 14.1 sec car. Everything else is lacking by 0.150 seconds or more. I do know that the Polo I was using when I ran NISSANTOS was getting beat by a few cars so I belive Ive more than made up that time. i just want more. What times are you all getting at 400PP?
EDIT: FTO no good: Polo no good: VX200 no good: Eclipse no good: Elise no good.

14 at 400pp is fast....I'm doing 13's with my 400 pp car.

good night at 550 pp (ptk14) was the fastest...then me, I saw like over 10 different people drag racing.

Crap, missed it, what were you and ptk driving ?

I used both an Evolution 9 and R32 both beating NISSAN's R34 by 1 car+.

I see, I haven't been able to look through my garage for a couple days now to check or test anything, I was gonna pin my hopes on a spec c 04 fully tuned with little or no weight reduction hoping it would be 550 pp

The evo was only like 6pp over so it worked perfectly.. I didn't even change my tune one click.. The r32 just changed 6th

Sounded fun, guys!

PTK, was your car using the power limiter?

No, I was using more than 550pp but the room was limited...

560 pp it's crappy because of the idiots who use the Buick Special which PP was badly calculated. :ouch: 8xx BHP , 12XX kg , 110 kgfm and 556 PP. :dunce:

Yeah, because cars which use the power limiter have a flat HP and TQ curve, which makes it hard to beat.

They have a flat HP but the not torque, if power reduced too much become S***. It climbs like normal until it reaches the lowest rpm of limited max HP then it turns into a bike ramp and plumits. Power limiting your car too much is never a good idea. Yes you keep all that torque but you wont be able to use it if the car is too limited.
Take for example; Your car has 500ftlbs of torque at 4000rpm and 600HP at 6500rpm when fully tuned and its PP is 525. If you limit it to 500PP without removing parts first your car will most likely end up like this; 500ftlbs of torque at 4000rpm and 530HP at 4400rpm, with a flat line for HP all the way to redline. Thing is once the torque curve reaches the 4400rpm mark for begining of max HP it drops drastically so as soon as you begin the 4400rpm at gear change to get max torque, it will give you 450ftlbs at 5000rpm, 400ftlbs at 5500, 350ftlbs at 6000rpm, and so on. If you remove a few parts you will only get maybe 445ftlbs of torque and 530HP but you will maintain the higher numbers at higher rpms which is more benefical.
tonight at 500 pp, around same time.
I plan on being there. I have a car tuned that I think will perform nicely.
