perhaps GT6 is falling behind.

That post was never edited by the poster (it was by a member of staff to merge two posts) and never contained the claimed "wanting GT to become an exact copy of Forza" at all.

So in short you seem to have made a deliberately misleading claim to try and support your point, then it seems hidden behind an edited post claim, this is behavior that to be blunt is simply not remotely acceptable for a member here at GT Planet.
If you believe so, I apologise for the post. I don't want to cause trouble here on GTP, and I don't want to make life difficult for the moderators, or anybody for that matter.

I feel embarrassed when I talk to my friends about gt6. I was kinda like the go to guy in my circle of friends about car racing games. I told them about the new improved course maker and 1 track dlc per month. Also about the community features. Those were some of the most important features to us. Since then 2 of them have basically quit playing and the rest are pretty turned off by any news that doesn't contain either of those features. They laugh when I tell them what the last few patches contain. Even though I still love GT, I can't blame them for being turned off. The fact is it's just taken to long.

Just sold my GT6 disc version, down to my DL version only. Haven't played since February, as I've reached the point of no longer hoping that PD will finally drop some good DLC (tracks or cars) anytime soon. I will finally buy a PS4 for PCars, and for the first time since about 1998, will probably not be buying the next GT version.

Agree, the 1 month dlc stuff was a big lie from PD!!!

Is GT6 falling behind? Definitely. GT6 is a small step forward from GT5 in terms of innovation. What's more is that GT6 has also gone a few steps backwards with the missing GT5 features and whatnot.

BMW M4 "Frozen Black Metallic" (I wouldn't coun't this one because you can't buy it anymore, and it's the same car)

I see 10 cars that were not on day one

PD has not fallen behind, they're taking action against people with modded games saves;
Remember how long it took to them to take action in the GT5 days?

It was because they were making GT6 at the time, now they did took about the same time, doing what? content for GT6? definitely, GT7? Who knows

They have not failed to deliver their promises.. of course, the ones most of us want are not still there.
-Course Maker
-B-Spec
-Community features
-More customization (Let's be honest, custom wings and different rim sizes are not what most people call "More customization", yes, now you can make your car look they you want, with the resources you have, but that's not enough.
-Mobile apps
-The holy sound update

But they have delivered
-Data Logger
-GPS/Data logger thing from Toyota, I'd be happy to link Famine's post explaining the true potential of this software, but I don't remember where the bloody hell is that post at
-3D TV Compability

As you see, there are still a lot of things to do from PD, but they have done a part of it, and honestly, I'm happy with that, because I know they're working on the game, I'm always looking foward to the next update, whatever it contains, the game/franchise has not been abandoned, as many people claim, but I can expect more from PD, as all you do, except for the happy part

Oops. Thanks for correcting me!

...and why do you think that is? Because they all bought a PS4, sold their PS3 and waited for a PS4 game? No, I don't think so.

Blaming it on the technology would only enrage people further since they already promised these features. Another simple rule of business, don't promise what you can't deliver. Why on earth would anyone believe their promises next time around if they announce they couldn't live up to the promises that came before them?
Yes, but that is the fact now so sure they can add all the content missing but the damage is still done. And it will not increase sales now i think?

Some might not think 10 cars is a lot, but you have to think that in comparison to GT5, it's more than 10 times the cars we had. It's more than 1000 times the cars we had.

The numbers make it sound really big :p

- how many of us would pay for any new content at this stage? i'm not sure i would, as an offliner, what would i do with it? (a good plan for sony/polyphony would be to get GT ready for a second opportunity where new content would make more sense - i dont see any indication that is what they're doing)
- i doubt PD knew that those DLCs quantom leap or one track by month plans would, apparantly, fail when they first mentioned it, its not a lie per se. (not having races at seasonal events is also strange. gt6 is kinda in stand by)
- we never knew the schedule, the main problem to me, is not the potential delay, but the lack of information about anything. i dont mind delays if they are justified.

i think GT6 will be a little different when GT5 servers close may 20.

I will if I like it, just like I did in GT5

They took the risk, that schedule is very exigent, and now they're facing the consequences, It wouldn't have failed if instead of "every month", they said "Every two or three months", less presure and more opportinuties to mess up

This is to keep players from having easy credits method

I think the same as you, supporting multiple games at once, not a good idea, look what happened to Call of Duty and what is happening to Battlefield, they have multiple games supporting and both franchises are facing serious problems, PD, on their part, have little experience supporting multiple games at once, they released GT5 late in the PS3/360 generation, and other studios have learned how to support multiple games at once.

When PD released GT4, there was no such way to support the game, let alone GT3.

Now, GT5P and GT5.. GT5 evolved very slowly when GT5P was still supported, once they stopped caring for GT5P, GT5 started to evolve in a faster way, and there's no way to deny that.

some people here are so stubborn, no matter how many arguments you have, they'll stick on the negativity :indiff:

Same can be said for the opposite, those who will defend anything they can.

At best that is 9 unique cars, since the second Mercedes VGT is a cheap duplicate. You could even argue two of the X cars are the same, but it's besides the point. Even 11 unique cars is not great.

I suggest you pay more attention in maths at school. 1000 x 0 is not 10.

Whichever way you want to slice it 9 unique cars is not in any way a quantum leap over 0. It's a small improvement, as I said already.

I said more than - anything times 0 is 0 - the joke is you can say we have more than infinity times the cars we did at this point in GT5.

*BTW i'm an A* GCSE candidate, just to clear it up :p

Y did gt6 come with less than gt5. Y take stuff away then release them as updates over a period of time. Like b spec. They removed it then plan to release later. The only special events we've had is red bull challenge. hill climb can be beaten in an hour when all events are unlocked. And the moon mission...
These hold no quality to the special events that that gt5 had. And for me to have beaten the game 2 months ago and then have to wait for god knows how long for a new event that will take an hour or less to beat. Well it's hardly worth it. Hopefully spec 2 is The corner.

No you can't. All you can say is we have 9/10 more depending on how you look at them. You can't say we have x times as many because as you say, 0 multiplied is 0.

Not great, I agree, but it's an improvement besides all of those zeros and multiplications, let's keep it like it before we turn this into a philosophical thread

I never said it wasn't an improvement, it was just a previous discussion about whether there had been a "quantum leap" or not, and ergo whether PD had failed to live up to a promise or not.

To me, they most certainly have failed on that promise.

The vast, vast, vast majority of people that play GT don't go online nor do they participate in Seasonals. They mostly play offline within the game they were dealt at launch or with updates. In that case, why buy GT6 at all, because for most casual gamers GT5 is a complete game with almost the same content as GT6 except for a handful of tracks and cars.

No no no no, Mr. Penso. As you know, I'm mostly an offliner- and GT6 is way worse than GT5 in this respect. After the awful "career mode" (barf) is complete, all we have is Arcade (seriously?) Mode. And GT6's Arcade mode has been castrated compared to GT5's! WAY less options for building races, and only 10 cars on track!

GT6 is BUNK for offliners. Bunk I tell ya!

I share this sentiment. I am 'the racing game guy' in my circle as well. Mostly GT. I am embarrassed by these last two iterations.

10 is more than 0, no? Hence the "more than" x times x ;). It's not meant to be serious, just a little joke to make it sound like we have tons of DLC.

It why not Y.

The AUP you agreed to follow when you joined GT Planet is quite clear that Text-speak is not permitted.

10 is more than 0.
You can't however say how many times 0 it is. It's impossible. So no, you couldn't say it's a billion times what was in GT5. That is wrong.

You're missing me saying "more than"
If 1000000000000000 times 0 = 0, then 10 is more than that. As long as you keep saying "more than", the joke works.

Gran Turismo has been dying since the PS3 was introduced. First Prologue (which I personally didn't mind but still strange), then the half a game GT5 was and the same thing with GT6. I still love GT for the cars, tracks and physics, but my oh my how the mighty have fallen.

I've said it many times but without a major shift, GT will never recover. Somone needs to replace Kaz in the game design and game direction -- for physics and manufacturer relations, etc. he is fine and in fact the perfect person. But his game design has completely failed to deliver in GT5 and GT6. He simply doesn't get what GAMERS want and that desperately needs to change.

Sorry, @Samus , didn't meant to say that you said that it wasn't an improvement, I wanted to rectify it, considering that you and I agree that it is an improvement.

Just to clarify :)

Oh come on! give them another chance, you can surely say you did give them one when they release GT7 and the promised features are not in GT6

10 is more than 0, no? Hence the "more than" x times x ;). It's not meant to be serious, just a little joke to make it sound like we have tons of DLC.

Yet you tried too hard to explain the joke, and now you're discussing calculus

10 is more than 0.

This is getting out of hand, mathematically, IIRC, zero fits -1/12 times in any number, philosophically speaking, you have to consider what's a zero for you

That's it

Let's get back on topic
