perhaps GT6 is falling behind.

On topic...if GT7 delivers fewer tracks and cars than gt6, is that also falling behind?
What can PD do to the players that are now used to see 1000+ cars?
Can they deliver a game for millions of players? It has to be broad, lots of different cars, classes, tracks and so on.
F1, Rally, TCC, Nascar, Carts + all regular cars and so on. It has been about you can choose what you like to drive and do it in one game. So what do they need to remove to keep up?

BTW, can they attract more female players? I have a feeling there arent that many here or?

Jesus sorrrrrrrry
OK so a polite public reminder get sarcasm does it. I will make a mental note to go straight to the formal warning and temp bans in future.

Thanks for the heads up.

Its quite simple you agreed to follow the AUP when you joined, as a result we kind of expect you to do what you have said you will do.

GT reached it's peak with GT4 , after that all went downhill
GT1 was the peak, arguably GT2. GT4 was just a massive game but the essence of GT was very much on its way out. They had already started taking themselves way too seriously at PD by the time GT4 rolled around.

Really?

You can't of course be referring to GT6 as we haven't even come close to all the advertised features actually arriving for that, and are well behind on the DLC schedule that PD advertised.

Haha There has to be some sort of disconnect between what I'm writing and what people are reading. What part of my post are you replying to? Let me try to explain myself better, maybe that will help.

What I'm saying, is the so far we've had several threads about how GT6 has been abandoned or how GT6 is falling behind or that we're not getting any of the promised features blah blah blah.

When I reply to these kinds of threads I usually respond with pretty much the same sentiment "This is silly, we have no evidence that this is the case, give it time". And every time I am inundated with replies much like yours claiming that to think anything positive about the future of GT6 (as far as updates are concerned) is naive.

But, so far I've been right every time. People just like to be outraged. It's nothing new.

Oh, and in reply to what you said...We have nearly half of the promised features. We've also been told by the U.S. producer that monthly track DLC was the plan but it fell through, and that they are working on tracks.

They said that it fell through, or you're just assuming at this point that it fell through? Have they said that they're working on tracks since the abortive Zahara non-release?

We know absolutely nothing about what they are or are not working on. For all we know they're working on a tool so that you can morph your side mirrors into any shape you want. That'd be cool and revolutionary (sort of), but not while there's still features from GT5 missing.

Two things. First, "half the promised features" sort of assumes that all features are weighted equally and if we have half of them, we are halfway home. What do you think the outcome would be if you took a poll of GTP or the world and said, "Would you rather have the "half" of the features you know have, or just two, Course Maker and Online Community? I can tell you where my money would lie and it wouldn't be on the "half" we already have.

Second, do you have a source for, "monthly track DLC was the plan but it fell through, and that they are working on tracks". ? It sounds familiar but I'd like to see some confirmation.

It has less tracks i know. but the question is:
if in each update has a new track, that would make 20 new tracks.
That FM5 seems to deliver, unlike GT6.

I love driving in GT6, but it lacks something...
You must not know about the multitude of cars they removed...

No one has said that we are not getting any of the features? However we are still one feature down on GT5, how long do think that will be until it arrives? Particularly as the server switch-off will render it redundant.

What has been said is that communication is poor and that promised timescales and deadlines are constantly missed.

You have no evidence to say when its going to come either, that's the point you have missed. The evidence we have does however make it more than reasonable to be very sceptical of any deadlines or time frames, given that very few have either been given or achieved.

What you don't seem to get is that the vast majority of the public don't generally like to either be told 'just wait it will come when it comes' or even worse be given timeframes that come and go without explanation. GT as a series can not survive on a ever reducing core that are happy to simply wait with no idea of when anything is coming, and as a very long term fan of the series that concerns me deeply.

But, so far I've been right every time. People just like to be outraged. It's nothing new.
Right with what? That stuff will come eventually? That's hardly a real challenge now is it, now giving an actually date (even month) or this stuff and being right, now that would see you being 'right'.

Its the utter lack of communication and missed timescales that are the problem, I'm not sure exactly why you can't see that.

Half? Really.

A quick look at the update section of the GT6 website would seem to indicate otherwise. Not to mention the point that has already been raised about 'weight' of what has been added. Exactly how many owners of GT6 do you see using the GPS tool?

Not only is the Track DLC late, the 'news' on the first track is late and the DLC packs for cars are also late, that's quite a bit of late stuff.

In a single paragraph you've described the reason my motivation for particpating in so many negative discussions on GTP and I believe when I can speak for many others around here and say they feel the same way. We have loved this franchise for many years and we can forsee trouble on the horizon based on our own experiences with life in general and the great companies and businesses we've seen fall from glory by making fundamental business mistakes, the kind of mistakes we've seen PD make consistently the last few years. The move to PS4 signals a whole new era in gaming and a whole new round of competitors who aren't blind and DO read these forums and know exactly what it is we're unhappy with. PD needs to step their game up and do it quickly, or they face being nothing more than a Wikipedia entry or trivia question within a few years.

Just like how GT6 is GT5 with less features and slightly better graphics.
Trust me i know that.I also know that gt5 was basically 4 with better graphics and less interesting career mode.FM5 Was a dissapointment mainly because they typically innovate on at least one thing per title. They backtracked in 5.Not trying to argue its just facts

No, that's not facts. FM5 was built from the ground up is why it has less cars and tracks. Their focusing on giving their game the quality it needs, something GT7 will have to go through when they enter PS4 as well.

Which is why it shouldnt have been released without said removed content.Being bored within 2hrs doesnt scream quality to me.I was glad my brother bought it before I threw 600$ away.
Aa for GT7,you have high hopes lol

When I mean by quality, I mean starting frash. Sacrifices are obviously going to be made. Also, I get bored of GT6 too. Maybe because. Oh I don't know, it's lacking features.

High hopes? In GT7? Nope, not me. Look at the state GT6 is in. The bugs people here mentioned aren't corrected, features like the course maker still isn't added, and PD doesn't say a word on what their doing. Why should anyone have high hopes for GT7?

So what do you suggest T10 should've done? Ported the rest over as is? Or take another 2 years of development to perfect them?

It's a lose-lose either way. Port and you lose quality consistency, perfect and people lose their patience (though I do think going quality over quantity is a much better decision for the long run).

The OP makes a direct comparison between GT6 and FM5.

I would think that makes FM5 discussion quite topical.

From a moderation point of view the staff have already asked that this not turn into another GT vs FM thread, and as such that is the case.

Anyone wishing to ignore that will find they get Easter on holiday from GT Planet.

Yes, but can there be discussion of either, without it becoming a vs thread?

For example, Samus post above.

This thread has obviously been created because of the lack of promised updates to GT6.
I personally think something has gone very wrong at PD with regards to the updates/content and I feel they are scrambling to fix and or hide the problem with small incremental updates.

Really hope thats not the case and I guess we'll see in the coming months.
If this current trend continues then my fears will be more and more confirmed.

1. You seem to think I'm trying to argue with you or do some kind of fm5 vs gt6.
Fm5 is lacking cars and tracks from fm4,that is the truth.
Quality purposes or not,it happened and therefor made me bored of it quickly along with many others,my opinion.Gt6 GOD yes its lacking were all 400% aware of that.
2.It was sarcasm,no one has high hopes

This post is awfully hard on the eyes:odd::eek::eek::eek:

For the purposes of the discussion we're having they are weighted equally. People really wanting the course maker doesn't make it less likely to show up.

I said that the course maker is coming, he said it wasn't. I brought up the other promised features because we are getting them steadily. The current update history suggests that the course maker and the rest of the promised features will come because they are starting to check items off of that list. That's the point I'm trying to make, it's the point I've been trying to make for some time now. Not just in this thread.

Taku Imasaki answered a tweet about it last month
