perhaps GT6 is falling behind.

Yes I stop... because I give up, I'm tired of talking to these negative people, theres no point in continuing

All I say is, they should stop with the neverending whining and complaining, and if they dislike GT so much go play Forza, iRacing, Assetto Corsa, or whatever, and have fun, and let the GT fans have fun with our own kind of game.
Seriously? I'm a GT fan just like everyone else here, which is why I joined this fourm because I loved GT and wanted to discuss about it with others. But the way GT has become nowadays, it's hard to remain positive and just want it to be better again.

If somebody is saying that PD is on a downwards spiral, and nothing good is coming from them (which is just an opinion as valid as yours or mine), then why do they buy the game to then moan about it? You summed it up perfectly, by saying that you won't buy GT7 until you know it's good.

In the case of GT6, specifically? Uh, perhaps they're moaning because they paid for a game that has no true signs of delivering everything it promised. Taking Nixxxon's analogy, if I bought a Ferrari and they promised me a V12 making 600hp, I'd definitely complain if what I got was a V8 with 450hp because the full package will be along "in a future update".

Go tell Ferrari that you are not satisfied with their supercars, you want something much cheaper, more practical, with good fuel economy and off-road capability, please.

Well, that depends on if Ferrari themselves promised those features and didn't deliver them.

Yes, because that is exactly comparable to what people are asking of PD to include in Gran Turismo.
You guys want GT to have it all, right? What if i tell you that a certain product will never be perrfect, just like car makers will never make the perfect car, all cars and products have upsides and downsides. is it that hard to understand?

You can hardly ever satisfy everyone. Not saying that company owners should encourage going to the competition, but...

I'm pretty sure the dominance GT had many years ago will never return, because now there's a lot of important competition, and back then, there wasn't.
First of all, GT is a console franchise, and a console really can't compete with a PC in terms of technical power in general.

We don't want a cheaper, more practical car with good fuel economy. That would probably be NFS in your analogy. We want a super car that actually runs on all cylinders. That means being up to the competition in your analogy.

What is your problem? Why are you comparing GT with car companies now?

In the case of delayed promises, you should wait until PD says "Sorry, we're not going to include this or that as we promised". But as of today, you can only complain of PD being slow, as I do

As I said, GT can compete with the other console franchise that is Forza, but in terms of technical specs and graphics and all that stuff, PC car games are in full advantage.

No problem. Because I want to.

No, we don't want it to have it all. We want it to improve over each version in various areas we feel are lacking in quality. How is THAT hard to understand? A lot of the features people are asking for were already in previous games, or even advertised for GT6. It's not like we're asking them to add everything ever conceived in any racing game. Just what they advertised would be a great start.

Once again, as long as you only focus on GT6. If you look at PD in general over the last 15 years, you can complain of them lying and not adding promised features.

I know it's a console franchise. That's exactly what I stated in my post. Didn't say a word about PC.

And honestly, don't worry about PC. A thing like iRacing is it's own beast, and hardly comparable to what Gran Turismo is and represents.

Nobody has said this.

Most of us just want GT6 to have some of the features advertised as coming in updates included, as they fill some pretty massive holes in the gameplay. You know, holes that were filled in GT5.

Even if Enzo himself personally didn't give a damn, I'm sure most of the rest of Ferrari management kept kicking themselves when Ferruccio told Enzo to 🤬 himself and did exactly that.

The competition GT has now isn't dramatically higher what it had for the first four games. The first four games simply steamrolled those as a matter of course (to the extent that certain games' only chance to sell in any numbers was to do so far removed from a GT title) just like GTA games with their clones, and now people are just as likely to buy something else instead. Even GT5 (initially) had that exact same hype, and what competition does the series have now that it didn't have in 2010?

It isn't about technical specs and graphics but about game design choices. The things that are wrong with the game design are not due to the less powerful console (apart from AI maybe).

The signs are coming through very strongly now - with a lot of promised features being released every update. There's as good enough chance that they will come as there is they won't. But PD are making the right noises.

All we want is GT6 to be a good game but it a bloody along way from doing that.

I was thinking more about AC rather than iRacing.
Well guess what? PD will never say that because they don't communicate with their fan base.
We'll see.

The PS3 is piss poor in power for today's standards, lets not forget that. When GT7 comes out we might be very surprised of the improvement.

What a funny, full of argument and not personal reply.

Because you've done so much to answer back at what I said in the last few post prior to the one you quoted, that came prior in small intervals of minutes as well.

You sure as hell don't start it in a Prius down at the local track either...not sure how his point became moot when he was asking for either more realistic race cars that go with such a path. Or stick to driving cars with less race cars because that's what theoretically a driving sim should be.
Yes this!
If i see them falling is they cant
put the cars they give us in a fun (and relevant to the cartype)
environment. Its like, here have all racetracks but you will get Micra, Panda and Prius to push your driving skills :) Feels lile driving 20km/h
Give us nice tracks or challanges for slow (normal) cars too should be possible.

Or we might not. After all, the PS3 was far more powerful than PS2 and in the opinion of many people it didn't provide a better game.

Again a simple example with a popular wish for a feature: Why can't we have an offline race editor of reasonable functionality because of the PS3? Not the hardware's fault. Why can't we have tire/fuel wear offline to be able to do testing for online races offline? Also not a PS3 problem. Just these two as an example.

It's a driving sim that has to replicate all areas of driving. And to do that, you have to include all types of cars.

Micras, Pandas, Prii are all as important as - and can all push your skills as much as high powered cars.

The low powered cars are what you may do a track day in, or what you will do one to one driver tuition in. People do start racing/running track days in these cars.

 okay...

In fact, yes: PS3 is not only very low in power but also the game content is much harder to do for it than for a PC or for a PS4 (thankfully the PS4 has fixed it) Yamauchi has complained about this.

Ok maybe it's me, so please explain like I am 5: How does the PS3 limit the use of fuel/tire wear offline when it is possible online?

I would like to point out that Kaz has said himself that some textures found in GT3/4 were solely down to the PS2's power, and it's something that the PS3 doesn't have. I'm no technology expert, so I couldn't tell you exactly what it was, but the PS2 is stronger in some fundamental way.

I'm off to look for that article now...
