Not so long ago I got a PS3 YLOD and had to go thru all the updates and then get all my accounts back onto that PS3 which took some time (Several Hours) and then a further two hours to update the thumbnails in each garage, Plus then had to go thru all my downloads which I bought for the game so I could use the items in my garage.
Well let me tell you its a day I will never get back in my life.:lol:
Won,t lie I don,t have the fastest interwebby in the world but it does ok when am downloading?

Sorry if this is a bit of a bump, but I'm wondering that if I put my GT5 save data on a USB (it's over 4167kb) and delete the save file on the PS3 to do the borrow glitch will it work?

Here's what I mean:
1. I delete my save which is over 4167kb and start a new one which is a lower kb since it's new.
2. I borrow the car and proceed to do the borrow glitch as you normally would.
3. After I have the car in my garage I send it to my dummy account.
4. I copy my original save back onto my PS3. (The one that was over 4167kb)
5. I send the car back to my original account.

Would this work?

How to permanent borrow with one PS3 keeping all thumbnails, replays, etc (requires USB hard drive)

Boot game, borrow the car from a friend that you want to sponge -

Exit game, go to System Settings > Backup Utility > Backup/Restore - on the XMB

Select Backup > Yes > Select Destination (USB hard drive must be switched on and plugged in!)

Make a backup of your PS3 hard drive.

Goto Game Data Utility - delete Gran Turismo 5 data (NOT THE SAVEGAME)

You should now be at GT5 version 1.0 assuming you're using an original edition disc

Update GT5 to 1st update - this'll update game to 1.05

Goto your garage, choose a different car - this is what makes sponged car permanent in garage -

Exit game -

BACKUP SAVEGAME SOMEWHERE SAFE i.e. USB stick - this is IMPORTANT.

Go to System Settings > Backup Utility > Backup/Restore - on the XMB

Select Restore > Yes > Select PS3 HDD backup file you created earlier (USB hard drive must be switched on and plugged in!)

Once it's finished copy your SAFELY BACKED UP SAVEGAME to your PS3

Boot up game, voila car is sponged and all thumbnails, replays, photos etc are back. đź‘Ť

Why do all that work for a car that can be gifted? You probably would only do this for a car that can't be gifted and for those cars , no it will not work - you will not be able to gift between your accounts.

So if I understand correctly this method doesn't require a second PS3 nor a sht load of Internet bandwidth?
 
Cars valued at million or more can not be gifted. That was the whole purpose of the borrow glitch, to move expensive cars between accounts. If the car value is below the trade limit, simply arrange a trade.

The car that I want to do the borrow glitch is under Cr. 1,000,000 so it should be able to be traded.
 
I believe Hybrids is the term used to describe those hacked, thousand horsepower civics
... but dont quote me on that

but since they are a big secret he cant be that obvious about it. Which begs the question, why even post in the first place...

Actually they arent a big secret. Some people who has hybrids dont want to trade them so you perma borrow them.

Why would you allow them to be perma borrowed, but not trade them?.And why must we type in riddles?:lol: Hybrid? Pft Wtf?/?

The guy who makes the hybrid wants people to test the hybrid offline. Resbonsible modder dont trade hybrids because that would kill the online lobbies.

Thats the reason why I dont trade or share my civic or x10. There is more than just those 2 cars thats a hybrid though
