Don't freak out about the donation thing at the end. If you actually read it, it's just the site hosting the petition service asking for help. Just ignore it, and dont worry, we aren't being shady and trying to con people into giving us money lol

No, no there is no donation wantings in this as far as I know. But I didn't set up the petition site. I made this thread and the idea behind it.

It asked me to donate after I signed the petition. I just closed the page down and I got an email saying that I had signed the petition.

Why aren't Sony/PD sending Jordan a review copy? Isn't this the biggest GT based site on the web too?

I think they should give him a copy. 60 bucks compared to all the extra sales Sony will get from fresh meat this site possibly pulled in. The reviews, the interviews, the marketing. What's 60 bucks.

Jordan should just mail Sony and he will get a free review copy. I even do with my mini small GT site ...

No I didn’t get mine cause the review discs aint send out yet (and Sony is always slacking in the Netherlands, or at least the press office is). Only way still to get GT5 is by stealing it out of the factory, or buy one that’s stolen. :grumpy:
But really, it aint that hard. Just check which press office deals with the Sony PR in your country, and send them a mail. Worked for me, been receiving review discs since GT3. Would be stupid to denie the admin of a massive community like GTPlanet.

They aren't going to give a review copy to a website that doesn't review anything. They're not in the habit of spitting discs out to people for any other reason, either...

EDIT: Not that I don't think he deserves one though.

As much as I believe Jordan deserves a copy, I never see it happening.

GTPlanet is a Gran Turismo fan site for sure, but it's one that allows negative comments to be posted on a continuing basis.

It's just smart business.

Thanks for all of your support everyone - yesterday was a rough day for me, and your kind words mean a lot. :O It is true that my request for a review copy of Gran Turismo 5 was denied by Sony Computer Entertainment America. I was offended, but, frankly, I wasn't that surprised, either.

Since then, I have decided I do not want a review copy. More specifically, I do not want GTPlanet to be bound by any legal agreements or embargoes, and I feel my current post-first-ask-questions-later freedom is far more valuable than anything Sony could ever provide me with. As such, I am not required to remove any content from the blog - I comply with their requests because I think it would be unwise to alienate the personable contacts I have made within the company. Over the long run, I believe I have much more to gain by maintaining a positive relationship with them. Leaving up a few videos on the blog - which you'll notice I have still permitted in the forums - are not worth jeopardizing that.

Even though he doesn't want a review copy anymore, the petition is done and will work as a thankful letter by the GTP members to Jordan. Seriously, if were him, I don't know if I could resist the tough people here always doing tough criticisms. Also, there are many things for him to take care by himself, like posting news (people demand it, no matter what), reading the tips people send him, keeping the forums decent and respectful - which is hard sometimes - and being censored by Sony (:D). I think all this is very stressful.

I signed the petition 👍.
