So many people in drag racing would abuse it....

This is what im scared of, nos means bye bye drag boards or a WHOLE NEW SET AND ALL NEW TUNES... i know they dont want to make more drag boards and i dont want to retune for nos in a 1031 hp acr.

I say before you introduce nitrous into the game, put the Las Vegas drag strip in the game. Give the drag racers their own dedicated track so they'll shut up about that. Then we can talk nitrous.

Not NOS.

And while they're there, can they bring back both HKS Skyline and 180sx drag cars from GT2?

Nitrous would only be there for those people who want to use it, much like the Red Bulls and the F1 cars. Those worried about drag racing, I'm sure if added, PD would include an option for 'no nitrous'. I personally would like nitrous back, for drag racing (when allowed) and top speed runs.

IRL Nitrous is a real tuning option for cars so including it in GT is perfectly acceptable and many forms of racing use artificial speed boosts (KERS, DRS, Speed Boost button, Turbo boost controller).

Nos,
for when you don't know the meaning "twin turbo chargers".

Please don't bring back nitrous, just don't...

It's only legit on a drag strip isn't it? Is there any other form of racing to use it?
Boost controller is not a speed boost, that's a "tool" to adjust boost pressure. So in my IMO you can't put nitrous, KERS, boost controller, in the same bag.

I say bring it back. The van in my avatar needs to go over 120kph. Then I will add it to all my Kei cars. Then the 57 MX5's I own. Then the 98 Skylines.

Then I will go to TGTT and post the message "35" and start to count up to the drag start time. Then I will be sad because the other guy launched early and I can prove it. Then he calls me a noob. Then I crash into him and then quit.

Then I will start a thread asking PD to turn SSRx into a proper drag strip. In that thread I will say, "But they have NOS!" Then someone will point out that they call it NOS due to the brand NOS. Then I'll double post and get a warning. Then I will swear in a post about how I wish PD never released NOS. Then I will be corrected again. Then I will swear again and be banned.

I don't want to be banned, so until there is a real drag strip, no NOS.

Exactly what I was thinking

That's the only place this canned horsepower is accepted anyways!

It's a driving simulator, not some crap like midnight club, so no.

But real life uses NOS, no?

I guess real life is just an arcade game.

Maybe they could add it on a couple of noob cars, You want Nitroux, alright it cost 300pp. Whatcha gonna do in your civic at 700pp ? Race against R35 lol?

NOS??? Sure! I want it back! :) 👍

I think we need a poll here... :dunce:

No Nitrous! It sucked in GT4, no need to wreck GT5 with it.

I would be alright for it. Just make it an option to disable it in your rooms, call it good. How sick could F1 or X cars be with Nitrous? Imagine, Route X, 3 Laps, all X2011's with Nitrous Push-to-pass? Awesome.

I'm also amazed by the amount of people who are saying it would be abused online, as I can't think of any logical basis by which that makes any sense other than "I don't want it because I don't like it because NFS had it."

But..by billion light years away my favorite point is....drums.... "it isnt realistic".....
I have a redbull x1 with 120.000 Racing klm with ZERO oil changes. how realistic is that?
How realistic is to crash to a wall with 300kph?
How realistic is to turn visual damage or mechanical damage on/off?
How realistic is to get 520kph with a 2J cause you were drafting?
How realistic is to have 1000 cars in your garage?
How realistic is to have infinite number of LF-A's when in real life toyota will make only 500?
Here is an idea lets start making petitions/threads asking from PDi to remove Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, Route X etc cause they are not "real or realistic"...

Someone mentioned "formula with nos will be unrealistic"... to change rims in a F1 is unrealistic also or to add turbo and so on and guess what? you cant!
I wonder what stops Polyphony making NOS available only for certain cars?
or what stops PD adding a permitted/forbidden option to online lobbies?

Both points (online abuse and unrealistic) are galacticly stupid, with zero logic, zero valid points, zero data, whats so ever.

btw...if you want to quote 1st answer to the following 2 questions with facts and hard data.
1st - Why my 120k klm X1 is more realistic than a nitrous oxide system installed to a VW beetle or to an LM car?
Cause as you may know, there is no redbull in real life and neither there is an oil or an engine that can handle 120.000 racing klm.
On the other hand if you can afford to buy or build an LM car there is nothing to stop you if you want to install NOS....
Yes the engine may fall apart and you wont be allowed to enter a race.....BUT the same goes for the x1's engine, by now the engine should have turned in to
charcoal and it shouldnt be allowed to enter a race in first place.

2nd - what stops PDi to add a simple online rule and make NOS available only for some specific cars?

My point for all this, is that GT5 now matter how you look at it, you like it or not is a game!

My point is- First a working drag strip (somewhere to use nitrous.)
Second can be nitrous/speed humps/window tinting/fox tails hanging from the antennas/extra cup holders or any other feature. But using a nitrous injected VW Bug for the Sunday Cup isn't the first priority.

wow, people here are such haters. The nitrous was a fun option in GT4. it would be cool in GT5. BTW, the AEM S2000 actually has a mounted nitrous tank in the back seat. try answering to that ya haters.
if ya don't like it, you don't have to use it or allow it in any of the rooms you host. It's an idea for more updates. it's a simple tune shop add on that is used in real life. It's STREET LEGAL for god's sake. why not have it in a RACING game. And it would be a perfect bolt on item for the Viper GTS-R concept and it's rediculously wide 6th gear.
If you actually watch drag racing on TV, people put it in there cars all the time. 9 out of 10 drag modded street cars have it. GET OVER IT and stop whining.

Would be fun to have in GT5 as it was in GT4... Most popular place people would use it is in drag rooms ... 1...2... 3 vin diesel quote, "too soon"

but why in a prestigious game like gt5?

Did you just invoke the word "prestigious" to describe GT5? A game that is clearly not finished and lacking features and functionality in so many key areas? LOL

"too soon junior!"

"granny shifting, not double-clutching like you should!"

How the hell does double-clutching help you in a drag race!?! Maybe we should explain it to Vin.

"Heated argument is Heated"

Two things:

1. It's nitrous, not NOS. Just as it's a soda, not a Coke. Just as it's a bandage, not a Band-Aid. And just like it's a photocopy, not a Xerox.

2. Please search before creating new threads.

Who else wishes GT5 had NOS?
