What do you think what game is better? Graphics, Gameplay, Carmodels, Carselection etc...

PGR3 or TDU?

For me the PGR3 graphic and carmodels looks better.
I have not played TDU until now.

Ciao joe8

TDU is better in every category except for driving physics, which PGR3 does better, and car selection, where I can't decide between the two.

Also, PGR3 isn't as buggy as TDU, and TDU doesn't quite have the same variety of courses, not to mention its exclusion of the all-important Nürburgring. ;)

Nur in PGR3 is crap. The cars are nearly the same across the two games give or take a few. And PGR3 has been patched to hell and TDU has not (yet :P)

Physics are just up to personal taste, neither games are realistic.

Yeah TDU is obviously better, but PGR 3 is still pretty good. Not having played 2 or 1 I found it pretty fun to play and it has good eye candy.

PGR3 looks the better game at most times, but after the car-fest that was PGR2, with different types of cars, the new one felt hollow somehow.

I voted for TD:U anyway, because it offers so much, half of which I've probably yet to see.

While I like TDU, I still find PGR3 much more enjoyable, so I voted PGR3. While I really like PGR3, and so many supercars (all the ones I want except for the Veyron) and the nice in-car dash and all that jazz, I still liked PGR2 more. PGR2 just felt more complete (single player wise anyway), and I really had a hell of a time playing through it and going back and getting platinums on everything.

I voted for TDU. Even though PGR3 has excellent graphics and better physics, it just lacks in the gameplay department. You can't beat customizing your own character, buying houses, the island (1000 miles open road FTW), and the MOOR part of it.

I think PGR3 just cuts it for me. I personally prefer its physics, graphics, sound and organization of its events. But the sheer size and choose ability of TDU still make it an excellent game.

I voted PGR3, but I need to make a few pro/con comparisons to both games:

---

TDU: I don't think a game like this really would have been considered a possibility without the full-power of the 360 or a high-end PC on tap. Go back even three years and I think the idea would have been laughed at as a reality at the time, as even Rockstar struggled to create an open-air world with GTA:SA.

What TDU does is combine everything that is held high by so many people; Beautiful island, obsurd ammounts of money, fast cars, hot women, and the feeling that you are free to do whatever you want. The execution of it all really is top-notch, especially when you consider the previous Test Drive titles, and the fact the game retails for only $40.

...The thing I couldn't get over was the island itself. It is absolutely amazing to be driving around it, having other people on XBOX Live around you, and the fact that a 30 minuite drive in real life should take nearly the same ammount of time in the game. The graphics were pretty damn good for a budget title, and although I was unable to enjoy them with an HDTV, I certainly understand how pretty they can be.

But what wrecked the game for me was the gameplay. The physics were essentially broken, the cars themselves completely unrealistic in performance, and the race-types were quite boring. To be completely honest, I had more fun just driving around than actually playing through the game. The whole notion that your car seemed to be hitched to a pole that made it turn left or right really bothered me... Some cars it was worse than others, and to really do some trick driving, it simply required too much effort.

...But $40 for a trip to Hawaii? I think I'm willing to pay for that...

On the other hand PGR3 does a much better job at keeping me entertained. In some ways PGR3 was the opposite of TDU in a few categories, particularly in gameplay and racing style. In PGR3, everything just seemed "right."

...Of course that may be because I've been playing PGR titles since they first debuted on the XBOX and I quite enjoy the franchise. There is just something about the way the cars handle that is completely realistic and yet completely unpredictable that makes it so much fun. Drive the TVR Sagaris through Las Vegas and you will understand.

On the side of graphics, PGR3 continues to be a driving force and a good case for the power of the 360 despite the fact that it is a first-gen title. The attention to detail not only with the environments, but also the cars themselves is simply stunning. I don't even think GM or Ferrari have CG models that look that good when they design their cars. I love the fact that you can see the exhaust fumes comming out of the tail-pipe and that your window gets dirty as you race in the game. As they say, "Its the little things that count."

However PGR3 loses in one department: Some of the fun from PGR2 dissapeared. Certainly the developers hoped to fix that by adding the Mini Cooper S, but even then, there just aren't enough "free" modes to get it all done right. Onlie works pretty well, but it just doesn't seem to flow as well as what it's predecessor did. I'm also finding that I miss my favorite cities more than anything as Chicago and Washington D.C. were argueably the two best additions to PGR2.

Overall, the games are quite similar and quite different. If you are a straight-up racing fan you are going to want PGR3, but if you prefer more of the free-roam taste to a racing/driving game, TDU is going to be better.

The good news for TDU is that it is cheap, there is more than enough to do, and updates should keep the game alive. PGR3 on the other hand has been out for a year, has had plenty of updates, and will soon be replaced by PGR4 sometime next year.

...I'll take PGR3 any day, it just suits me better. Not that TDU isn't a good game, it just isn't PGR...

I have yet to play PGR3 but am enjoying the hell out of TDU. Already online when you boot up the game and 7 or 8 other racers on the island and some real free roam is where its at. I spend more time cruising online with other racers than playing through the actual single player races. I've played PGR1 and 2, and I get tired of just race after race. With how TDU is setup if you get tired of racing or doing challenges, you wanna race or chill with other players just look around and warp or drive to where they at. No menus or other crap to go through, its all there just a clutch kick away.

I think the keyword in the PGR3 title is indeed "racing" as it obviously would be where the emphasis is placed in gameplay. If it wasn't so, maybe they would have called it "Project Gotham Driving 3."

Poor old NFS:MW, doesn't get a look in. I got so far with it, but it got really tedious, as does every NFS street racer game. I wish they'd go back to their supercar racers like NFS:HP2. Most Wanted does look brilliant in HD though, typical EA game.

They should go back to how NFS Porsche Unleashed though. However, I don't care for NFS anymore.

I think it's pretty obvious that whoever worked on the NFS games of old which were good (NFS 1 to NFS Porsche Unleashed, they also improved through each game) probably now works at Bizzare (PGR) or at MGS (Forza). As far as I'm concerned, PGR is the spiritual successor of NFS Porsche, and Forza complements PGR perfectly (i.e. I wouldn't pick one game over the other, I like both a lot, but that's just my opinion).

Personally I wouldn't even begin to compare PGR and any of the NFS titles. The problem is again similar to comparing it to TDU; While PGR comes off a bit more "realistic," the others seem well founded in the arcade nature where physics and handling do not matter whatsoever.

I liked the previous NFS titles, particularly the original Underground titles. However, after Most Wanted and Carbon, I'm pretty much going against the franchise that brought me into racing so many years ago. They just aren't as much fun anymore, and it is unfortunate. The guys at EA know what they are doing, and with the money that gets thrown their way, there isn't any reason why they can't make a game like PGR3 or TDU in the near future.

I would like to see a "pics comparison" between PGR3 and TDU!

Who can show the same car, that we can see what graphic is better???

Ciao joe8

As close to the same car in each game as I could find

TDU is the better game in my opinion. The graphics are better in PGR3 but they are still extremely good in TDU considering how huge the game is. TDU was the first game Heather and I played for 2 weeks straight without hitting the eject button. TDU is such a great game. :)
