okie... don't flame me if it's asked somewhere already coz i'm still confused after reading some posts....

so ppl talking about these USB flash drives... do they have to be a certain brand to get the transfer going, or anyone thumb drive will do? it's not a sony memory stick, is it??
any USB key drive will do, rite?

thx!

Is there a cable to connect PS2 on PC and download photomode pics?

Can you save your savegame and replays on USB drive (or transfer over the cable to PC)?

Thank you for answers.

I don't know, maybe 1twojay or chaser_fan could tell ya.

I am also trying this right now. I stuck the flashdrive in the PS2 thinking that would work but it didnt. How exactly do you get the image to the flashdrive?

When you've made the photomode picture, aren't there options like "print picture" and "save picture"?

EDIT: If you're talking about the demo - it doesn't work there, the only option is to print it.

It just sais "press start to print" then when I try it sais printer not connected.

I don't think it works with the demo.
ok that would make sense then. If someone gets it to work with the demo let us know. 👍

I believe it just knows how to write to a USB memory stick drive thing.

just what the heck is a USB memory stick drive?? i'm getting all confused coz of this...
does the game support memory stick or USB drive?? or both?
i dun think there's a slot for memory stick on the PS2 though.... unless there's an adaptor...

Does anybody know if it will work with one of those?...>

it's USB and I have a 256 memory stick in it. + it's Sony.

It should work just like a flash drive... I use it like one.

Yea, thats a flash card reader, but its the same thing really as an all in one stick, just with an extension. Here's Mine:

To anybody wondering, you can pick up a flash drive with 128mb for 30 bucks at walmart, target, ect. Or you can buy them seperatly (flash reader and a card), it may be cheaper to do that if you just buy a reader and a 32mb card.

Here's what the all in one flash drives look like:
the card is actually embedded in the drive so to speak, only downside with these is you cant upgrade the memory in them..

just more of a convience thing than anything else...

Not sure on the specifics of the mem stick/flash card readers, but they should work just like my USB key did... in the photo menu, theres an option to upload the pics to the USB drive... and no, I was unable to save any replays or saved-games onto the USB mem device... only photos...

I can confirm that the photos of GT4 "Photo Mode" can be saved on non-Sony USB flash drive (I'm using Sandisk Cruzer Micro 128Mb)

The output photo is in 1280x960 resolution JPG format. Good enough to be
the wallpaper on our PC. :)

I read a chinese forum
they said most usb flash drive would work for photo mode
the most simple usb flash drive will work at higher chance like no protection type

Fantastic! I'll pop in and get one on the way home.

Do you think it's possible for me to plug in my CF card reader via the cable and then upload the pics to my 1gig flashcard?

Good to hear it works with the Sandisc Cruzer Micro as I have one of those. Can't wait to make some RSX type-S wallpapers.

Can I ask how big in KB are the screens from photo mode.

Can I ask how big in KB are the screens from photo mode.

I did a couple yesterday in the photo-replay mode (not the traditional photo-mode) and the pics were around 70-120K each... there is also a setting (I think) for 'fine' and 'super fine' photos... but I haven't had time to do both and compare their file sizes...

How much time does it take to the PS2 to render a hi-res pic?

10 secs... maybe... give or take... I didn't really time it, but after snapping the shot, the disc loaded (with that GT logo and that spinning icon)... the screen goes blank for a few secs... then presto...

Nice to read it's that fast. Thanks! 👍

I've seen all of those ( and downloaded them), I was more interested in our GTP members pics.

edit: WO! There's more!

it's about 200~250KB for the SUPER FINE Jpeg (1280x960) taken in "Photo Travel".

Here are some shots I took yesterday (hope the link works).
