Photomode is alright
Anyone else struggling with the concept of this mode? I get photomode in Forza, you can paint your cars there, it makes total sense why you would want to take photos, show them to others, why others would want to see them.... but I dont really get why they built this whole photo travel mode when all of our cars look the same anyway. Why would I want to see someone elses photo of cars that look just like the ones I already own?
I guess Im looking to be sold on what's special about this mode. I dont want to feel like it's a waste, and there must be a good use for it, but whatever it is, it's eluding me right now.
That's what Im struggling with. To me it does. Without that I dont even get the point of it. Maybe I just need to play around with it and see what it can do. I only bring this up since it's the one mode in this game that seems a little useless.

Finaly some effing logic. That's what i'v been saying all week long. Whats the use of photomode if all the cars look the same? . Anyways it's late now as we have a brilliant photo mode with no customization option's or some livery editor.

why anyone would want to add tons of stickers or a bruce lee face to a super car is what I don't get. Just paint it in microsoft paint and I'll be just as impressed if you've got the talent.
The only thing that upsets me is that apparently you can't take pictures of standard cars in photo travelOh well.

Those guys can make a normal car look brilliant. Now imagine those brilliant car photos in a higher resolution. That's what photomode is about.
...is as any other photomode to create screenshots of a video game as any other which does not appeal to me.

Woo!
While I love, love me some Photomode, this part of your post just sounds silly. They're all about creating screenshots of a video game.
As has already been mentioned, why do car magazines hire photographers to take pictures of the cars they test, when the manufacturer already has stock shots available? Because a good photo is about far more than "is the car unique?".
When you think about it, Photomode is a brilliant marketing tool. It can be used to create some really impressive marketing images, and even better for PD and Sony, communities such as this have a healthy interest in it too. We've created literally hundreds of thousands of images over in the GT4 Photomode Galleries sub-forum, and while some of us use Photoshop or other editing software to improve on the flaws of the old game, some people don't. But these images can spread; I printed out a few of my older GT4 ones (PS'ed a bit, but nothing severe) and have tricked friends when they're postcard sized. Photomode gives PD some free advertisement, similar to someone handing Nike some money to walk around with a big swoosh on their chest. It's a win-win situation; we get to play photographer with some cars we'll never get the chance to (or, with our personal real-life cars, in locales they'll never visit), and PD has a very handy tool. Can't see a problem there!
Actually, that just highlights how you can use a livery editor.
Dude. It's only a game after all. You think taking a snap shot in photo mode will make you a proffessional photographer? pshhhhh...
Huh? Bruce lee's face? Appearently you have not imagination at all. I really feel sorry for you.

Do you think driving a car around a racetrack in a videogame will make you a professional driver?

Sorry, but that looks like absolute ****. Anyone can look at a real race car and try to replicate the letters and numbers. It takes no imagination to come up with those. If you want to see real skill, talent, and imagination, look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5q5h_34V_M.

Sorry dude, the person has skills but it is very tacky to have that on any car, I guess it's just personal opinion. I'd rather have my road car stock, no need to advertise any modification done or not in many cases. My track car can wear the propaganda of the companies paying to advertise, most privateers survive this way.
