I'm serious. I'm beginning to think that Mafia 2 might have better physics then Gran Turismo.

What do you guys think about this?

I played the demo. I cried.
Seriously in what world does mafia 2 have better physics? There's endless reasons why. Try drifting in mafia 2 and then in gt5. If you still believe it then don't ever drive in real life.

try to assassinate Bob in GT5 💡

You know, cars from the 40's and 50's are a lot different then the cars nowdays.

i enjoyed the driving in mafia 2 :p but I played w/ kb and mouse on pc. You can actually see the tires flex and deform in that game hehe.

Pretty sure he can do that himself, could be a future update though? 👍
Has anyone played the full version as maybe the demo was before they introduced these racing sim physics?

TCE I know they handle differently but they probably don't handle like that. I'm not trying to knock mafia 2 because it doesn't label itself as a sim but the OP has done that.

I actually like the car effects in gta 4...if you burn out, the tires can pop...i wish gt5 had tire deformation like that

can't judge unless Mafia 2 has proper wheel support, I had it on the 360 and while the wheel works, the control are clearly not designed for it, and lacking proper force feedback makes it very hard to judge.

But I certainly remember driving on Mafia 1, on PC with clutch support!!!! The physics was really good in that game too, definitely better than GT4 at the time.

You may have to be a little more specific when you make a claime like that. Precisly in what ways are Mafia 2's physics superior to GT5 ?

the damage physics are better in mafia2 hehe :D

You also die when you crash in mafia 2, GT5 doesn't do this :)

No the physics are definitely not better in mafia 2, it was also a lot shorter game than GT5.

Also Mafia 2 has far worse screen tearing than GT5.

If you think, Mafia 2 has good driving physics, then play GTA IV....handles much more comprehensible.

But more realistic as GT5? Are you kidding?

Maybe it's the live rear axle and cross ply tyres that allow you to drift better. Talking about tyre modelling in gt5 any one had a proper look at the x2010. When you in cockpit view they forgot to model the tread on the front tyres got a sidewall but no tread.

i thought full race tyres dont have threads.....

for an action-adventure game it has awesome driving physics, but you cannot compare it with a dedicated driving game like GT5.

that being said, i think it did have better physics than Shift's "one handling to rule them all".

It does. So long as you have tyre-wear enabled. I've done this online many times, and the resulting skate-fest is quite insane. Blowing all four tyres (4WD) is even better...

The physics in Mafia 2 are good but you can't compare them directly since there are no 1940's cars in GT5 and no modern cars in Mafia 2.

BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!....PPFFFFHHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!

Give this man a beer.

this is a bit of strange discussion I admit, but people talking about 40's / 50's should shut up, because physics haven't changed

and above all the Corvette C1 is in both games.

Loved the car in Mafia2, but disliked it a lot in GT5, sure it's probably more realisticly modelled in GT5 but it drove okay in Mafia and it wasn't like a supercar, it wobbles and does what you'd expect from an old car like that..

but still, there is no answer to this discussion but don't flame the thread starter for it

I believe there's a C1 Corvette lookielike, if not the actual car. (I've not played it personally, just seen others play it.)
