@Stanc03 , what a dynomite race. :bowdown::bowdown:
We started the race less than a second apart. 90 minutes later at the finish we were .500 apart. Look forward to our next race.

Had a blast last night, close, clean racing. @HazardLvL4 that AMG was just to fast, no matter if it was two handfuls to drive, nice victory!!

Dont rub it in... You guys were cute last night, holding hands for 90 minutes lol
As you came up to lap me, you guys almost ruined it lol, started fighting for an inch of track aha amazing job not killing each other, while
fighting each other, amazing racing ladys.

You two, @Stanc03 and @SGETI, had an awesome race last night, very impressive to see!

We told you to go to the pits befor... you didnt. Dont blame me when everyone knew you buggered it up yourself

This was literally all you this time david, you were told to go around and didnt, thats your own fault.

WE did 2 laps... but after we got to 2, hazard wasnt waiting for your mistakes.
Im sorry that sounds nasty but thats literally what happened.
Dammit Colts, why do you persist in telling me what I did and didn't do? Are you me? I'll telling you I did go to the pits as soon as I could have after being told.
1. I had a good ways to go yet to get to the pit when I needed to go....and
2. Like you didn't see where I said the damage indicated "100%" damage so it wasn't that I could have exactly rocketed to the pits either.

I really didn't want to say anything to begin with as some people may tend take these things the wrong way, suffice it to say I eventually decided to comment to apologise for bailing out and stating the reasons. I don't want to belabour this any further so please let us stop with this right now and move on.

Because everyone else is too nice to tell you your a ****ing tool. We literally told you to go around, you didnt. Thats your fault. We did 2 laps... you were still sooo far behind. What do we need to do?! HOW DID YOU EVEN GET DAMAGE?!
Yes i am a D. but you are just so useless sometimes its actually funny.
Im sorry i have to say that because we all actually like you, but damn son.

We all like you david, but cmon bro... I'm sorry.

Alright, you stated quite a bit here in just a few short sentences, so lets unpack some of this. Yes, I agree fully that SMS studios made a great game. I have always enjoyed the PCars series, if I didn't I would not be playing it currently. However, that doesn't mean I can not critique the game as it currently stands. From my observations there are two camps. People who love the game so much that they will bash anyone who critiques it or SMS studios, and those who enjoy the game but will point out flaws that should be/have been addressed by SMS. If you land in the camp that will critique the game's flaws you take a bunch of flak from hardcore fans. I obviously fall in the camp who enjoys the game but will point out its issues.

Now, the issues that I am advancing have to do the Mercedes AMG GT3 as it stands in game, and only this. I am not attacking SMS or claiming that they are the main problem. I would leave my issues with SMS's buisness model of PCars 2 for a separate post, as it is not related to my complaints from last night in the slightest. Before I begin to point out my issues with the Mercedes AMG GT3, lets define how much development and practice I have put into this car already:

Development Laps (RACE LAPS NOT INCLUDED)

Round 1 Zolder: +50 Laps
Round 2 Monza: +250 Laps
SRM Enduro COTA: +40 Laps
Round 3 Brands Hatch: +100 Laps
SRM Enduro Bathurst: +80 Laps
Round 4 Silver Stone: +80 Laps

Just in development time I have turned over +600 Laps! Thus, based on all this testing and tuning at various tracks I have been able to identify the biggest issue, "for me", with this car. The main issue with the Mercedes AMG GT3 is rear-end grip, regardless of Hard or Soft compounds. The car's fundamental balance is to understeer corner entry/mid, and then snap oversteer on exit. The snap oversteer is generated due to the amount of steering lock required to overcome the corner entry understeer. Thus, when the back end finally catches up with the front it snaps around.

In order to address this fundamental issue I have tried just about everything under the sun from aero balance, spring rate balance, sway bar balance, toe adjustment, and damper adjustments. No matter what you do to try and eliminate this behavior you end up either making it worse or just delaying it for when your tires drop to 90-95% wear remaining. In high speed stuff this becomes tricky cause once you load up the rear and begin to apply throttle around the rear-end comes. The only way to deal with this fundamental balance issue is to change your driving style. I don't blame SMS for this, if this is what they intended, then fine, this just isn't a car to my liking in the confines of their physics engine. If this is not what SMS intended then it was an oversight, and they should have addressed it last year in one of their patches.

In conclusion, this makes the car a nightmare to drive over a race, that is all I was pointing out last night. Yes, I was quick in the car, Yes, I won, but that doesn't mean I enjoyed my 90 minutes of driving on a knifes edge and being hyper in tune with every step-out of the rear end.

*Note - I have tested this car in Assetto Corsa and did not observe the same issues.

Yes, the car is the fastest in the GT3 line up. Yes, this is why I picked it. Yes, the car is a qualifying queen. No, I didn't know when I picked it it would be this difficult to driver over a race (my fault for not testing enough before submitting my pick). So, do I complain to much? perhaps, that is one's own opinion, but at least know my complaints are data based / driven.

*Also, just because someone is fast doesn't mean they are not allowed to critique and point out issues.
I know a couple of guys that are blisteringly fast, and I hear sh..t!. F..ck.. goddamitt. .. so I say what happened?
The reply is I lost at least 2/10ths on that corner!... so my reply was..if you are looking for sympathy, you will find it in the dictionary between **** and syphilus.

All jokes aside it's a game. We all play it to have fun whether you put many hours of practice in or just show up we all race our own way. To some people those 2/10th and sreaching for the most out of the car is fun. And it can be frustrating to have slower people in the way or people complaining when they are kicking ass. I struggle with that frustration all the time and I make the mistakes on track but it's not anyone else's fault but my own. just like if you don't pay attention to what's being told to you or you don't know what's around you and you crash or your coming up on a slower guy and crash that's all your fault. So I guess what I'm saying or if I'm saying anything at all is for the slower people(myself) watch out for people coming up and for the fast people watch out for the slow people. and everyone (most everyone) will have a better racing experience. Oh and if ever I do something wrong or do something y'all dislike let me know that's how I grow and get better. P.S. It's time to pit!

Put me in an actual car, ill cry. I freak out when my brother hits 51..
Also the speed on the caution lap is a bit fast, just hit the pit limiter and chill the f out.

Well last night was fun @HazardLvL4 your car is the fastest which is why I always make the ballast joke (no seriously though lol) @SGETI it was good battle all race we some how manage to keep it clean all over the track . @coltsjugg smh lol. @ONESPACE you should've been there. @potvinsuks I hope evrything works out for and mom bro that was messed up. @Alex ONeill my car choice for fun nights is the nismo R34 or the time attack Evo 9

Sorry to hear bout your mom too Pots. Thank God she's ok. Looking at the GIF, sure right could have been worse. Those things could go very badly in a split second. Good thing she didn't flip or run into a pole or something.
Hit and run eh? Hope they catch the bastard. The police should have the technology to zoom in for the number plate I think, so there's that. All the best bro.

I need a rain (Storm) set-up for the Lamborghini GT3 for Daytona Rd. I'm racing in the morning with a track Temp 53°, they're replicating the 2019 race!
ASAP

Thank God is right. If she was going either, a little slower or got hit a fraction of a second sooner, the other car may have driven her into a parked car.. Thanks for your well wishes brother, I really appreciate it.

I think, you would need a NASA Computer in order to zoom in on video to capture a license plate number from 3 houses away. It's not like in the movies. Yet :). Besides, I think even if the Police were able to extrapolate the image, I doubt they would.

Sounds like it was a very eventful race. . . (kinda) glad I wasn't in the way, er, there for that one. And watched that gif video of the ass-clown hitting your mom, pots. That sucks, and glad to hear she is okay (know I don't really know you at all, but wouldn't wish that on anyone).

Hoping to be back on tomorrow to get a little practice in the 488 before Thursday sneaks up.

Glad to be back home, but how there aren't more players in the NBA from the Dominican Republic, I'll never know. . .

@Alex ONeill or @HazardLvL4 , Is there a "fun" race this Thursday?? I went back several pages, and looked on the first page too, but couldn't find any info on if there will be a race this week or not. I see where the next Mixed Series Races (Ferrari 488) start on 3/7, and then the next GT3 race after that... anyway, just wondering as I would like to jump on with you guys, but would like to do a few laps on the track and car of choice.

Thanks!!

We will have some fun races this Thursday. Not sure what we will be running yet. Make some suggestions.

Uhh, maybe the Radical SR3 / SR8 at Oulton Park, Brands Hatch Indy, and Donington Park National...
Like most everything, bar the Go-karts - just haven't gotten on with those.

Anyway, I'm in (as of now).

Thanks Barry, we will run one of those! Anyone else have any suggestions?

Have you guys done a "Vintage" LeMans race?? That may be a fun "fun" race. Just pick an old car and go. Maybe make it where half have to be in the same class, the other half in another class (faster / slower cars). So there's not, say, one person in a slow car... And the faster drivers can be in the slower cars and the slower drivers in the faster ones. Just throwing it out there.

I'm in for that...
