Yup you'd need a headset bro. It's kinda vital for online communication with the hosts (Alex and Hazard) and other drivers.

^^ Read both... can't remember it word for word, but pretty standard. Pretty much play PC2 offline and try and race the Ai cleanly. I have looked at this series before and just felt like I wouldn't be good enough (aka, in the way), but I played online a bit today and it was a lot of fun. Didn't do so hot finishing wise (pretty much last), but had some good racing (until I made my inevitable race mistake. haha!!).

Anyways, I am usually free on Thurday's and would be interested in a variety of cars to run, only thing that hasn't really grabbed me is the Rallycross stuff... don't know why. Pretty much run GTE, GT3, prototypes, GT4, etc and the like. I like the race cars. :lol:

The ps4 comes with a mic, a little crappy wire that goes into the controller, isn’t perfect but it gets the job done.

And Barry, get a good headset bro (with a mike of course). It would be well worth it.
Plus them things real cheap in the USA, unlike by me where I had to pay a pound and a crown to get a good one via Amazon and had it shipped to my country in the Caribbean.

Just double-checking for confirmation. Which race is coming up for this Thursday 14th February (Valentine's Day). Is it:
(Season 11 - Mixed Series)
Race 4
Watkins Glen GP
90 mins

....and curiously... are the ladies going to allow you guys to race on Valentine's Day (night)?
 
Good Afternoon All,

Based on reading your input, there are some key points that stand out. Overall, the majority likes having the same car for 4 wks. The reason for this seemed pretty uniform. It provides time for people to develop the car, become comfortable, and it promotes closer / cleaner racing. (* My own personal taste would be to stay in the same car for 4 wks.). I feel this seems to be the best way to move forward, as long as, we stay within the categories that are the most popular. This means that PITS 2 needs to accept becoming a GT, TC, DTM, Track Ready, Road series provider. I am personally fine with this. @Alex ONeill and I, for a long time assumed that this would cause a stale experience, and thus, would throw in LMP & Open Wheelers to change it up, to much disdain. So, as long as everyone is in agreement with knowing that LMP's & Open Wheelers would only appear in special one time events, like a LeMans in June, or in a fun series "bye" week event, then I have no problem focusing the league into a more sports car oriented experience.

In regards to the individual round format, it seems to be overwhelmingly in favor of returning back to (2x) 45 minute races per night, with a reverse grid of finishing order for the second race, (Yes, the caution format is going to remain, that seems to be a generally liked feature right now). Thus, I think this is an easy change, and we will return to this at the start of the next weekly series, (Unless, everyone wants it effective immediately for the final round of Indycar at Watkins Glen?).

Lastly, with respect to one track per night or two, we seem split down the middle. It seems like either direction we choose everyone would be alright with it. My personal opinion would be to stick to one track per round. This provides an overall better experience and cleaner racing cause you are removing the variable of having to practice or setup the car for two separate tracks a night. For those, like me, who like to practice this would become to much. It would feel like being in two leagues at once. Thus, I propose a compromise for next season:

One car / class (GT, TC, DTM, etc...) for 4 wks.
Two 45 minute races per round.
One track per round.

If everyone is good with this at the end of next season then, "I believe", this is how we should move forward as the permanent league format (weekly series only). However, if at the end of next season the group would like to try having two tracks a night then we would trial that in the following season.

Please, provide more feedback, as it is always welcomed.

***IMPORTANT*** - This doesn't change anything in regards to the format for the larger GT3 Blancpain Series.

We would love for you to join our ranks! As @Alex ONeill, has already stated, just add him and I on PSN, and you are good. Also, in regards to the mic, you don't have to have one, as long as, you can hear us. We do formation lap starts and the pole qualifying driver calls the green, thus you need to be able to hear us. However, in the long run getting yourself a decent or good mic will be the best option. I have used PS Golds in the past they are a decent option, and am currently using Hyper X Cloud II's.

I must apologize for not being around for the open wheel series, it's just not my forte but I'm down for some Deltawing racing.

If somebody near the front wouldn't mind sharing a set up with me at the start of practice, that would be great.
I've noticed a pattern. I hop in my French set up (default) . Lay down some laps. After lap 4 I've qualified in the top five. As I continue to shave a tenth here and there, I notice I keep dropping down the grid. Until by the end of the hour, despite shaving a full second off my lap time, I'm right near the bottom.
Unless it's in the old stuff. That I know how to tune. Otherwise any attempt to tune this new crap results in going slower and slower. Or perhaps it's due to the new stuff having assist this and assist that.
I do not want to turn that crap on, as it dulls the skills needed to drive vintage cars. ( perhaps that's why I do so much better in the vintage stuff) I was virtually untouchable at lemans classic in the Ford mk4, with the exception of camel that is. (Full damage on)
Which is why I probably won't see a lemans classic race with the mighty 917s or 512s. Or...the mighty 1100 hp Porsche can am car. People are scared ****less of that car.
Any how that's my 2 cents.

And do I need to make sure "My" options are set in the game, or will the host set the race parameters? Sorry guys, about the only game I play online is Star Wars Battlefront. Used to play Forza 5 (a little 6) and just got tired of the constant F-bomb and shenanigans that went on...

@yogi bear, I am willing to share my setups, and I am sure @ONESPACE, @Stanc03, and @SGETI, are as well. Just let us know during practice or before the race so there is time for you to drive with the setup a little bit.

Yes, this Thursday is Round #4 at Watkins Glen GP with the Indycars. We are all usually on around 7:30 pm EST in a room just warming up and doing some last minute practicing. The formal event starts at "around" 8:30 pm EST.

You don't need to worry about setting up anything in your lobby for the race, that will be established by the "host", @Alex ONeill or myself. The only time you need to change your parameters in your game would be if you are practicing for the event, and self hosting.

Now, we don't have a formal practice schedule. It is up to you to practice before Thursdays, if you feel you need to. There will always be other guys on playing, practicing, or league racing, so I am sure you could get a few guys in here to join you in a practice room prior to Thursday.

Okay, first, got Micheal Buble tickets for the missus... so this Thursday I will be free from Valentine's Day chores!! WooHoo!

Second, and I'm going to sound like a complete boob, but how do I know if my headset is working. I bought one at Best Buy yesterday and tried it last night. It seemed like it worked - sorta. I played two different games online and couldn't hear anyone, bar every once in a while someone cough or clear their throat. I could see the little speaker and their psn name come on when it happened, but couldn't hear them. They also couldn't hear me??? Double checked to make sure I everything plugged in the right way, unmuted/muted my mic, but didnt't seem to make any difference.

Do I have to be in a "group" or something for it to work?? And seriously, apologize for the elementary question as I just don't really play online (again, except SW Battlefront) and just don't use a mic/headset.

Anyway, so looking forward to the race this Thursday! I ran another practice/Qual/race at the Glen last night and was able to lay down a 1:29.199 with the black wall tire - over two second improvement from Sunday. Was getting very consistent with the car - just not very fast. It will be enlightening to run with some other humans so I can see where I am losing time. Still struggling with consistency when braking on the T3PA pedals. The only setup changes I have made have been to adjust brake bias and braking force. I'm at 55f/45r and turned the braking force down from 87% to 83%.

Really have no clue what to do setup wise to make the car better, and not gonna worry about it (especially for this first race) as I just want to be able to be consistent and be able to get out of the way when needed. I can already tell I am going to be nervous, as I was nervous last night racing the Ai (which I turned up to 75%, normally run them on 50%) and trying to imagine that it was another "person" trying to get around me or me around them. Can only imagine that will be doubled when it really is a person.

I hope everyone is patient with me and please let me know asap if I do something wrong and need to correct it. For instance, last night after my race I watched the replay, and I chopped down on one of the Ai cars going in to Turn 7 - I didn't even realize it. I had the corner, but he was def faster than me, but I wasn't watching him in the mirror, I was trying to set up the car in front of me... Anyway, I will do my best to abide by the rules and etiquette that has been outlined in the GTP OLR and the Good Race Craft guide, but if I make a mistake please be understanding and just let me know asap. I will do my best to correct it. And remember, the only online racing games I have really ever played have been Forza and ToCA way back on the original Xbox. :lol::lol: Plus, I really am still getting used to driving with a wheel, and even though I really dig it, I sometimes have a "What the hell was that" moment while racing. :D

Can't wait for Thursday!!

I could hear people cough, or clear their throat - but faintly. I couldn't hear them talk... I hooked it up per the instructions (really only one way these will hook-up). Tried turning up / down the volume control, mute / un-mute the mic . Maybe people just weren't talking, or answering me. :lol:
