I think it was 600 - I went platinum recently - I want to know when I can tailor my own title.

Hmmm ... I'll have to look around. Oh, I got my mailer from Mazda about the RX-8 this week. Turns out it was actually about the "Mazda 6", and it was from Mazda Australia Motors. There was a 'centerfold' (woohoo!) article about the RX-8 though. They're hoping to sell it for around $70,000 AUD, which translates to roughly $36,000 USD. I still don't like the front end very much, and the wheel wells on the front are pretty bad too. But the interior and the rear end are freakin` awsome. Something I hadn't noticed (and really don't have an opinion about now that I know) is that they put the shape of the rotor all over the car. It's in the tail lights, the hood, the dash, the seats, the wheels ... and other places I can't recall. I really dig the interior though. And those rear swing rear doors will make it so much easier to get my two 19" monitors in the back (: Does anyone know if they're still going to include a baby seat in one of the models? I don't have any kids, but it just seems cool that they thought of that. "Hey our sports car comes with a kids seat. How cool are we?"

Until next time, ZOOM ZOOM!

I quite like the RX8 - it's about the right size for the significant other and myself, and enough room to get the respective mother out-laws in the back with complaint - don't know if I can sell the price and the rotary thing to her though...

Not convinced about the '6' - the current 626 must go close to being the world's dullest mid-size sedan - beautifully made and refined, but just, well, Camry dull.

Bring back the 2.5 V6 and make it AWD and I'd be interested - very interested. Or alternatively buy a Liberty/Legacy (oh, hang on - we did that already).

"Camry dull", very good description. I wouldn't say that I'm a big Mazda fan, more of a rotary fan. Actually, Mazda doesn't seem like that great of a company. Maybe that's why they got bought by Ford. Anyway, I'm a huge advocate (lately anyway) of supporting the things that I think are worthy of it, and totally staying away from things that aren't. PS2 vs XBox vs Gamecube for example ... Linux vs Windows vs Apple/Macintosh ... rotor vs piston. The rotary engine has so much potential to be better. It just doesn't have enough support. Unfortunately Mazda has it cornered, instead of someone really cool like BMW, Honda, Volvo ...

But the '6' looks alright, man. You should take it for a test drive and write up a review for us (: Unfortunately we have to wait another year for either of these cars. I'd really like to see a manual transmission V6 Accord, though. Unfortunately they're not building them like that. Oh well ...
