Platinum trophy finally!

So after buying cars like mad to get the 1000 car collector trophy, I got my platinum in GT5! Good luck to all who seek this one...and before anyone asks, yes the red bull x1 challenge was a complete b**** even with my DFGT wheel. Honestly, I think some of the special events were harder to gold.
 
If anyone has any questions about any trophy or how to, please feel free to ask! I am willing to help, unlike some others.
 
Congratulations ! I think you just did what less than 1% of all gt5 owners have/will end up doing. Thanks for your help offer also, it is very kind of you.

The second I got it, a drink was already in hand as well as some other stuff but AWESOME none the less! I celebrated all night!
 
With all the updates that have gone by, I think they did the platinum fairly easier to achieve, I feel like they even nerfed down the Vettel Challenge.

Still you deserve a big round of aplause.
 
They did nothing to make the vettel challenge easier, it was, and is meant to be a true challenge. Some things yes but it was still a royal pain. Also I will start gifting cars out that I don't want or use cause 1001 cars I have is already about 300 too many....lol. My garage takes forever to load now!

I'm pretty sure they did makee the X1 easier to drive in the challenge on some update, I tried it yesterday after 5 months and golded it with just two tries with really awful laps, compared to how hard it was even when I had every inch of the challenge memorized, it still took more than a few tries to beat Suzuka back then for example. Now it doesn't require much steering input to turn the car wherever you want it to turn, and the lower feedback makes it less painful on the wrists.

AFAIK, they only made it easier to achieve bronze.
They didnt change the requirements for gold.
 
If you aren't using a wheel for the vettel challenge, you might as well hang it up. I tried with a controller and couldn't even bronze it. my DFGT is the force behind my platinum and golding these challenges.

I wouldn't say that. I got all bronzes after just a couple hours with a DS3, and I'm about 1-2 seconds off silver on the 'Ring and Monza, so it's very do-able. Suzuka though, that's going to be a toughie just because it takes some serious balls to throw the X2010 into certain turns on the second lap. I got a 2:19, but that's when I had only mastered the esses and the fartherst I had gotten was the hairpin. Then one run I magically made it through everything, although I was driving at about half pace throguh a lot of it.

There are a few people that golded the event using the DS3. It's harder than using the wheel, but not impossible in anyway.
 
I saw that. It isn't impossible by any means but a lot closer to it with a ds3...lol. Like I said in op tho, some of the special events were harder for me like the grand tour at eiger...screw that challenge and that car! Lol

I actually liked that the Eiger+C8 challenge. And the rally challenges, although they were rather easy. It's easy to beat Loeb Challenges by 10-15 seconds, but you have fun doing it, that's what counts.
 
That's all that counts....wasn't too fun while I was trying to beat it but sweet success is always worth celebrating!

I didn't have much trouble on Eiger, beat it by 1.5 seconds, I did have trouble adapting to driving on ice, I hated it, but once you get a hold, it's quite fun going back there and just cruise through that awesome track.
 
Every one make a note of this...you don't have to gold the a spec endurance races to get the gold standard trophy, you just have to gold them in b spec. And of course gold all special events and licence tests. Hope this makes it easier for some.

Is it possible to mix and match A-spec and B-spec endurance races to get the Endurance hidden trophy? Like, lets say I did all but 3 in A-spec, can I get my B-spec to do the last 3 I didn't do to get that trophy?

Only 2 a spec races I have not completed or won are the two 24 hour a spec races. If that helps....I'm pretty sure you could do that. I don't feel like a man, I am. Made me feel better about me driving abilities though...
 
If only there was a secret to earn all gold in the Red Bull challenge and earn that GT-R time trial trophy at Nurburgring. I keep coming up with 15 seconds over the best time. I really am not that good on all of those turns and hills.

The secret is practice, practice, practice. It does make perfect. I got the Nurburgring GT-R trophy in arcade mode...plenty of threads on how to do it. Has to be stock with stock tires...why I did it in arcade mode. I forget which tires specifically but that shouldn't be hard to find. Sports hard or something like that.

I know about the specified mode and tunings for the car. That's what I was doing for 20 laps.

20 laps at the ring is a lot! I got it on my 2nd lap...sounds like you may not know the track that well...that's ok neither did I a while ago. Did you try using the driving line? I hate using it now but it does help on a track like that just to learn the track. Braking marks will slow you down tho if you follow them too closely so beware of that.

I have, but I still can't manage to reach the succession of the challenge.
 
Shouldn't be that terribly bad...learn the track till you have every corner memorized and you should easily get it then. A lot of corners and such to remember but it helps tremendously, believe me. Then you know what to expect and what's coming next, even tho you can't see it half the time on that track...lot of blind hills and turns, I know.

I think in a year or more i ll get there. I like to do things slowly and apreciate every moment of the game. However i think getting the platinium will feel nice, so congratulations men, sincerely.

I found your other thread about the vettel chalenge quite good and healthy for the community. I think it is a good chalenge and i will try it if its up when i get my wheel ;) However i think there is already a thread about the platinum. It was better if you had post there to get into the subject instead of creating a new one equal. Check here.

Again congratulations. Every one that get's the platinuim deserve it.

Congratulations, and thanks for the classy offer. It is a little weird to see those few gamers boast about how they know how to help but won't.

I think they are a tiny, but vocal minority, and don't reflect the crowd. 99% of folks I've met here are extremely helpful and even generous.
 
I thought the nurb trophy with the GTR was a little weird. I was about 15 seconds off when I did tried it first, completed one lap and left it, for later I said to myself. I came back about a weak or two later and got it really easy, 3rd time, first two had red times. I'm currently doing the "Air of experience", X1 and Bob in the clubman championship, over and over and over, another 300 to go........ ah! Do you have a better way, really bored!!!
