Am I right in thinking BF4 will have 64 player online for PS4?
Yes, same as PC.
I wonder how large online races can potentially be. O_O
Yes, same as PC.
Less. Because car models have a lot more polys than a little character model.
Gonna take a while when Sony starts to gain money on every console made because of that cheap price tag, ofcourse they can still make profit on premium ones and with bundles. Il be honest if PS4 were like 600€ for me I would have still bought it in a heartbeat.
Production costs are expected to be higher for the X1. So it's actually quite reasonable why the PS4 is cheaper.I would still have bought it, but maybe not at launch.
To be honest, I was shocked when Simonk told me they would be £350, and I didn't believe him. It seemed to cheap, and to be fair, it still does.
£350 is no money at all for a next gen console, I'd even say that the Xbox isn't that expensive, it just seems that way because Sony have slapped a stunner of a tag on the PS4.
fatkrakrThe only problem I see in the math is your never going to get 6 years out of a gaming pc without some costly upgrades.
At face value, the PS4 does seem incredibly cheap. However, when you take into account the price of PlayStation Plus over the console's life span, it suddenly becomes much more expensive.
Let's say you buy a PS4 at launch, and keep using it for 6 years (a fair assumption I would say) . PlayStation Plus currently costs about £35-£40 (English pounds), so 6 x 35= 210, or 6 x 40 = 240. This means that in it's lifetime, the console will cost between £560 and £590.*
So really, by the time the PS4 is released, that kind of money will build a gaming pc that outperforms the PS4. I know PS+ gives you good deals etc, but so does steam!
I'm sorry if I sound like a 'pc master race' person here, this is not my intention, I just like to look at the bigger picture of things.
*Apologies for any mistakes in the maths, I'm I little tired haha!
Oh. Another "PC vs Consoles" post. Haven't seen enough of those at all..At face value, the PS4 does seem incredibly cheap. However, when you take into account the price of PlayStation Plus over the console's life span, it suddenly becomes much more expensive.

Keep in mind that you don't need PSN+ unless you intend to play multiplayer online which some people don't do much of. Also keep in mind that XBox Live is more expensive on top of the more expensive console. At face value, the PS4 does seem incredibly cheap. Nothing against you. 👍I'm sorry, it wasn't intended to be a pc vs console argument, just my way of putting things into some sort of perspective.
HBR; that's very true! If you don't play online at all, the PS4 is amazingly cheap. Although I spend a lot of time online, so it's not a benefit for me personally. And exclusive titles are nice, I have many for my PS3. Every platform has good exclusives, and for someone like me, compromises need to be made over which exclusives I prefer because it would be a strain on my wallet to buy multiple platforms.
I'm truly sorry if I've sparked any anger. By all means criticize my points as much as you like![]()
HDMI cable looks to be a good 6'. Nice.
Does anyone know if the PS4 is still going to have that HDCP lock?
