I do however prefer the size and build of the 360's controller, the Dual Shock has always felt a bit 'fragile' in comparison.

Not completely sure about size, but the DS3 is definitely more fragile than the 360 pad. It feels flimsy in comparison even before it explodes into a thousand pieces, but then the design doesn't really help. I imagine this DS4 will feel muscular and compact, like corned beef (I've completely forgotten where that quote comes from).

I love the new controller, I mean the look of it but I have a feeling that it will be better than the DS3, I mean DAT blue light lol

I hope we can turn it off, it seems a bit distracting.

Quick tip - if you looking at the light, your holding it the wrong way round.
While I did find that response hilarious, he has a point. If that blue light is very bright, it could create problems for tvs that dont have "Anti glare". Especially plasma tvs and CRT tvs. Their screens are almost 100% reflective of everything. It will be interresting to see how bright that light is.

Ha ha, yeah, but sometimes when I'm playing I sort of sit forwards and rest my forearms on my knees, and the controller tends to be vertical. If the light is bright enough it could be all up in my, er, face. Like one of those cheap LED keyring lights. You know?

But looking at it, it's not going to be that bright, so never mind.

I actually know what you mean - the low charge lights on the 360 controller annoy the hell out of me.

One of the best controller I've used in my life was the Nintendo's 64. Great design for its time.

Now, this DS4 will be great. The DS3 was a bit small for the majoraty of european and american users IMO. Asian people are smaller (generaly speaking).

Hope you can replace on-screen notifications with the light in some way.

Now I expect a new Wipeout or a new futurstic racer IP.

Had enough of that Motorstorm BS.
Give me some special fx and crazy speed.

look at this thing, Repulze.

I think what PS4 games will need to do is to have features that wouldn't be possible on the PS3 just saying it looks better won't be enough ie for racing games using google maps to make tracks so you could use anywhere as a race course (maybe not to that extent but hopefully you'll get my point)

This.

Would be awesome. And doable.

Man, I am sure digging that oontroller and I am so glad they kept the sticks where they belong.

I do NOT want a 360 controller and the thumbstick locations!

I'm sort've mixed on the new controller. I know I seem behind the times, but the layout and size on the Playstation controllers always felt "right" to me, The 360 controller felt too bulky last I tried it so on one hand this seems like it might feel the same. At the same time though, it still looks fairly reconizable so I sort've like it. Its defiantely something I have to actually have in my hand before I can finally get my full views on it. One thing I defiantely would prefer is not to have the left stick swap spots with the D-pad so this is a plus already to me.

RIP Start and Select buttons you served us proud.

Oh and I am glad they ditched the square looking panel that surronded the X square Triangle circle buttons, always gathered dust and was a pain to clean.

Lovely controller will cost a few bucks I bet

Did anybody notice that he mentioned cross game chat at one point while talking about game streaming and sharing. Thats a feature a few have asked for, seems off putting to me really but a welcome addition to hush people up.

Hopefully it is true. Thats the massive advantage xboxlive currently has over PSN. Would be nice to finally talk to players in different games and players that are not even in games at all. Thats always been a massive pain on the PS2 and PS3.

I can't imagine them not putting it in. Doesn't PSN plus have party chat?

If the PS4 has no party chat or cross game chat I will consider it a complete failure even if you don't need a tv and it projects holograms into the middle of your room, while it cooks steak for you.
I can't see them leaving something that basic out this time. It's literally the reason about 10 of my friends switched to the Xbox.

No PS+ does not have party chat. Pretty sure the Vita has it though. I myself have never seen a need for party chat except when playing COD and not wanting to hear people breathe into crap mics. I don't think I would want to talk to a friend while we are playing different games.

Skype?

Is it me or is the headphone jack proprietary?, I don't think you can just plug any old 3.5mm jack in there because it looks like there some other connectors to the side.

The controller looks pretty decent and ergonomic but somehow overdone stylistically, like its almost a third party controller.

I also hope Sony's new Eye bar thing means you can play like Kinect and don't need any wands.

Move is staying, there may be a move 2.0/v2 like kinect 2.0 revealed before release.

A mono headset is included with every console. The rectangular port on the left is for the mic.

Skype is on PS3? I don't know, I don't own one currently.

The point is the console should have built in audio/video services.

Read my post again.

That's why you go on it on your computer/laptop 💡

That's what I do on the PS3 right now, very simple solution.

I said nothing about going on it on the PS3, I go on Skype on the COMPUTER/LAPTOP whilst I am on the PS3.

I agree it should be a feature but it's easily solved.

Thanks for the clarifications guys 👍

I still don't get why they didn't show the physical console, if its out before xmas the design must be finalised because they will need months to ramp up production for launch. It just didn't really make much sense to make people wait till E3 (probably) to see it when it must be out there...
