Does anyone know if we can use current headsets like the Pulse or the 7.1?

The PS4 has USB ports, optical audio out and bluetooth. So theoretically by far the most types of headsets should work.

I personally don't worry about this.

That UI video. They're not seriously trying to portray the PS4 as a way to pick up girls are they? I've tried with the PS3 for years to no avail.

That comment plus your avatar = win

Oh and so the G25 and G27 wheels should work with the PS4 right?

They do. You have to be XBL Gold to use IE10.

Must be the main reason why my brother subscribed to XBL Gold monthly after his laptop died the other month. It's been the only way he can browse online at home apart from the free-to-use PS3 Browser, which he appears to have ignore completely.

I'm starting to see where Sony took its inspiration from for the consoles design, from their older high end VAIO desktops. Most of them feature split lines and modular blocks.

Honestly, no. I mean, I knew there were laptops and stuff but I had no idea about desktops. Do they still make them? The look nice.

I think they have now gone the 'all in one' route with their desktops with it built into the screen I'm afraid. They do make a hockey puck shaped media centre PC though.

But yeah they did look sweet, monolithic style.

I remember using Sony desktops in high school, my 11th grade year. I think. They were sweet.

I dont know about anone else but im delighted Trials fusion is coming to ps4

Sweet thanks

EDIT:

So anyone catch this

During Sony’s E3 press conference, Jack Tretton revealed that there are more than 140 games in development for the PlayStation 4.

The titles will be a mixture between first and third-party releases and include games such as: The Witness, Gran Turismo 6, Killzone: Shadowfall, Driveclub and inFamous: Second Son.

SCE Worldwide Studios is working on 30 games and will release 20 of those in the first 12 months. Tretton said that there will be over 100 games available in the first year.
Keep an eye on our E3 2013 news hub for all the latest from L.A.

Wow, IGN does like to stir the pot.

Weren't they saying that it will follow the same PS3 owning policies, having such a title is terribly misleading.

That article was written by Mitch Dyer. Mitch is a huge Xbox fan.

The best thing about it is still that it's optional.

Agreed, they made a great move there.

IMO they should have taken it even further by doing a base model with a 160Gb hard drive, and selling that for around £329 or something, undercutting the XB1 by £100.

Having the 500Gb is great, but surely there's a lot of people who could settle for less? The PS4 hard drive is user upgradable so it shouldn't cause any problems.

Not that it bothers me, £349 is already a great price.

.

The problem is they would have decided on everything before the Microsoft event. If they wanted to react to Microsoft they would first have to call a shareholders meeting. Considering also that their head office is in Japan that is a hard thing to do in a few hours.

I wouldn't mine a cheap model that has a bare minimal HDD like what MS did with the 4GB Xbox 360. Buy that, throw out the small HDD & install my own.

Prior knowlege of what Microsoft were doing?

I don't necessarily mean in reaction to Microsoft, I just think they should have done it anyway.

Perhaps 500Gb is necessary, I don't really know, but I'd expect that a casual gamer could do with something like 160Gb.

Not complaining though, it's great to know the space is there if you need it! 👍

Not if you download most of your games. With next generation games could be 20GB per game. You download a couple games & the HDD is full. My BF has that problem with his PS3, it's a 160GB, & he's a casual gamer.

The cost difference between a 160GB hard drive and a 500GB hard drive on Sony's end would be negligible. We're talking probably less than $5. Even at retail prices Sony wouldn't really save any money by doing it.

Well what I'm talking about is the people who don't download the games (there are plenty of people that don't). 'casual gamer' was the wrong term really xD.

Ah fair enough, i thought it would have been more in the region of £15-£20. I didn't realise storage had become that cheap already!

In that case I guess 500Gb is a good base amount then.

I do not download many games but I do a full install of them from disk where possible. This helps preserve the rom drive

Yes HD prices are cheap a 1 TB drive now is less than $100

the first HD I bought was $350 and was a 350meg drive ..... times have changed ;)
