The answer is somewhere between "slightly" and "no, actually".

Exchange rates, distribution/shipping from point of manufacture, taxes (big one, particularly between the USA and Scandinavia) and marketing costs will all add up to make selling it in one territory significantly more expensive than selling it in another. And Sony may not even be making money on the console - which is fairly typical.

Sweden has a sales tax of 25%. Some US states have a sales tax of 0%. So a $400 console in any 0% sales tax US state is immediately a $500 console in Sweden in order for Sony to make the same margins - and the $100 difference goes straight to your exchequer. You can probably add an import duty onto that and then remember that Sony pays 50% of employee salaries to Sweden's treasury, before any corporation tax is levied. The difference in taxation alone makes that $400 product cost over $600...
Alright, makes sense then.

Infamous and Killzone are looking fantastic so far, these along side watchdogs ,Destiny and BF4 seem to be the most games grabbing my attention at the moment 👍

Ubisoft is the only one who still uses it. EA dropped theirs for all games, and Sony most likely won't continue using them (obviously ).

What about Codemasters? They still use online passes I thought.

Yes... why use online passes, if you'll have to pay for online gaming (which, in my opinion, is stupid) via PS+?

Guys I haven't been keeping up lately, is there any news on PSN?? Is it staying free or are they starting charging for it??

Yes, online play is only possible if you have PlayStation Plus. It's working out at only something like £5 a month, please correct if wrong. Plus you get 'free' games from it, but you're basically paying for them in installments. Doesn't sound that bad at all.

Fair enough. I hope PSN gets a massive overhaul with the introduction of mandatory PS+.

5 dollars per month, could get a better deal if you get a yearly subscribtion now I think.

Maybe this has already been covered a few hundred or so posts ago, but will the PS4 support the G25 or G27 wheels? What about the current selection of Fanatec wheels that are PS3 compatible?

Yeah, glad they kept that.

Also, free-to-play games won't require PS+ for online-multiplayer.

Guess it's only for required for premium titles.

Wait a sec... "Boyes also said "all video services [on the PS4] will be outside of Plus," meaning that services like Netflix and Hulu won't require Plus."

So does that mean we get full access to Netflix's full library of movies, for free?!

Or have I misinterpreted that?

Will BR and DVD movies stays region locked on PS4 ? Anyone know about this ?
BR and DVDs being region locked have nothing to do with Sony or the PS3/4. If you mean will the BR and DVD player be region free, I highly doubt it.

Actually, Sony have confirmed that the PS4 will be completely region free :D :

.

What Tornado said.

Unlike Microsoft which require you to have Xbox live gold and a Netflix subscription.

Also, the confirmation of there being no need for PS+ to play free-to-play titles online is in opposition to Microsoft, which requires you to have a Gold subscription to play World of Tanks, which is F2P on PC.

I know that mention's more deserving in the "Console Wars" thread, but it's not too big a thing, and I'm just including it here due to context.
