I picked up my copy of KZ: Shadowfall today. I'm so ready for the system to be delivered on the 15th. I also was able to hold the DS4 and it felt really nice. I never had much of a problem with the DS3 but this was much better. I can't wait to play a game with it.

I had occasion to buy PS3 games few days before they appeared official in stores. But that was due to fact local stores had them early and i know one of the guys who works there. He was so generous to sell me few those games like Last of Us but for higher price. But this is just shocker!! Dude How did you get game a month before console launch ???

I will have to try it out again later. I could have sworn it was gone. Thanks,

Just like i said. Not being educated enough. PS3 server option is still available on 4.50 Firmware.

And i just give sensible reason why this backward technology should be removed and the result of understanding is not up to me.

Although for someone who still does not have PS3 and want to buy PS4 only, and start play video games it is downfall to not have it. But i stated earlier, there is no Reason for PS4 to be backward compatible if you already have PS3 system and it works great.

I've read somewhere that Sony after all is thinking about putting Media server along with unnecessary mp3 playability into second PS4 update. I don't know if it's true but i know it is a bad move due to fact it will hurt PS3 future sales.

If PS4 would be also PS3 games compatible it would kill PS3 sales completely and please tell me if i'm wrong also with this. This is the reason why not to put backward compatibility into new video game consoles.

Why does Sony care about PS3 sales if "No one would ever play PS3 games anymore since almost every one want's to jump on PS4 and Xbox One"? If that's the extent of your "sensible reasons", I think you're going to have to come up with something you didn't just finish arguing against.

PS2 played PS1 games with no trouble, great games make a console sell, not it's features like ... the PS3 in 2006, that was all getting up with MGS4 release in 2008.

And mp3 shouldn't be removed, is the standard.

I don't have a PS3. Does this mean I should use my non-existent PS3 as a media server when I buy my PS4?

CD's are now obsolete, so too are blu-ray discs.Downloading everything now is the way forward.Especially to external Harddrives.

Do you not think Sony would rather sell a $400 PS4 to someone rather than a $200 PS3? If someone were to buy a PS4 for PS3 compatibility isn't that better for Sony? They would have the newest console for Sony to sell the new, expensive games to.

No they're not. It might be the way forward but it's not the here and now. Downloading a 50GB Blu-Ray is not feasible for a large part of the world.

There will always be demand for physical media, just look at the resurgence of vinyl records in the last few years.

You can also look at the failure of the PSP Go, which was DL only.

Tell that to my nirvana albums that can be played on anything that has a drive for it.

Yeah, everything will be cloud or something at some point, but some people keep some media for a reason.

To F1
I didn't mean to quote you earlier. Something weird is going on with my phone and when I go to quote it's quitting the wrong people. I deleted as soon as I seen that. I was trying to quote USSR.

Insiders are saying DNLA will be patched in
Sorry, it was meant to be a rhetorical question, simplified top the point where even ussr would be able to understand and answer it. Just a shame he won't answer.

No worries.

Walmart and other places still have large CD isles. If CD can survive digital music, physical media will be fine.

Though they are finding crafty ways to force digital and streaming. PS4 is a good example. Hardware that does not support your personal music collection, but requires you to pay a fee to stream, or rent music.

I really can't understand why someone at Sony thought that not being able to play mp3s was a good idea

As a fan of japanese media the music on my ps3 is almost exclusively j-pop/anime/game/vocaloid music and I have over 1000 tracks on it. If I got a PS4 they would all be unless and I would be forced to pay for a service that would hardly contain any songs I like and this is probably the same for a lot of people

I want to meet the guy who said "Hey let's prevent people from using mp3s of they songs they like" and also the people thought that was a good idea

The advantage of digital music now is that it's higher quality than cd's.This is why you have devices that replace your separate cd player ( Arcam Rdac etc ).I'm all for uploading music via mp3 players or from the internet.

My opinion is, the lack of mp3 and youtube upload support from day 1 are ploys that only serve Sony.

No mp3 at launch is to promote music unlimited, facebook video upload only at launch is free promotion for the PS4, people will upload their videos and share them with all their facebook friends, people who would likely never see the video if it was uploaded to youtube.

The lack of certain launch features arent a blooper by Sony. They're calculated risks. Disappointing.

It's available at GameStop. I didn't do anything special except preorder it in July. Also, it less than 2 weeks before launch here.

A tiny percentage of digital music sold is better than CD. That is when high resolution files are sold, perhaps 96khz/24-Bit. But it's very, very rare.

Digital music for the most part is at best the same quality as CD (FLAC,ALAC and other lossless compression formats at 44.1khz/16-Bit) but the huge part of the market is lower quality than CD, MP3 and AAC compressed formats.

Oh and one other thing, CD IS digital music.

I wish MP3 was a thing of the past, it is technically and was the day it was released but unfortunately it's the most popular format for music by a long way.
