It seemed that all patches which have been released are for online multiplayer. It's wrong!

It's Gran Turismo. Online is nothing for the series. Gran Turismo is all about playing alone through GT Life. Please, please, for god's sake do not worry about the issues in online! It's not that important at all.

FOCUS on GT Life! Fix the framerate, screen tearing, shadows, and remove the game save protection. Make more cars premium!

It really frustrates me that PD still haven't fixed the issues that I want fixing!

PD, you're dropping the balls. GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 was so much better. GT5 is the only one in the GT series that is having framerate issues. :(

I'll be happy if you remove online multiplayer completely from GT5, PD!

Multi-player is a big deal for GT5 and will help it live on for a long time to come. Especially with the latest updates. It may not be a big deal to you, but it is to me, and to a lot of other people. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that fixing what's wrong in GT Life shouldn't be a priority, but I like the fact that they want to get the online section right too. Because THAT is where the REAL longevity of the game is going to come into play.

No other GT has been on an internet connected PSN having platform. Gran Turismo never had HD graphics before either, are you against that too?

I like single player more than most people, and I wish the damage patch and all that applied to it. Buttttt... it doesn't, and racing online with your friends and GTPlanet members just happens to be totally awesome.

I disagree, I think in this day in age Online is a more important feature than Offline. It offers more replay value, true competition, and offers those of us who can't race in real life a place to stage realistic races against others. Once you finish GT Life, then what? Online play never gets old in my opinion, so making it a solid feature is an absolute must if you want people to keep playing your game.

Amen.

In before the "OMG, stop whining!" comments.

In contribution to this thread, I'd agree to some...degree. Online should be focused on as it's the only thing holding the game together for me (I'm already dead bored of it). however, major features such a mechanical damage shouldn't be limited to one prospect or another. My reasoning is either implement it properly, or don't bother at all.

Agreed and it doesn't mean that it won't be patched for GT Life later on. It is difficult to please everyone so they have to pick and choose what to do first. Fine with me.

There is no opinion in what you wrote, only 'facts'.

Well, let me tell you buddy, online is a very much needed addition to the game, and I've already had a lot of fun with it, something that I couldn't have had (spelling? :ouch: ) with the previous games.

You could have just said please focus on single player also and be done with it, and no one would say you're wrong :)

I knew I will get flamed, but I don't care. I just want to express my opinion.
And thats fair enough, it's the point of this place. However there are ways to do it, and ways not to do it.
and saying something like this:

Isn't gonna get you a lot of friends. Just because it isn't important to you doesn't mean it isn't important the the rest of us. A lot of people have been looking forward to online racing.

For Call of Duty games, online is very important, yes.

But for Gran Turismo... *facedesks*

I'm sorry, but I don't, no CAN'T understand this point of view. How on earth could being able to race with other people over the internet NOT be good for the series? Racing against people (especially in events that will be organized here) will be amazing, and far better than the experience while playing by yourself. I just don't understand.

This post just about sums up how I feel about online play. Racing online against others is much more fun than racing the bonehead AI, and GT's Life mode can get old quick is this game because of the grind. Online play will definitely help extend GT5's life and keep people interested longer.

You beat me to the point, so I'll just say "Agreed 👍"
:)

I don't even use online because of my crappy internet connection, but it's fairly easy to understand that it's the one thing that actually provides the game with a lot of longevity.

But, yeah, just like Terronium-12 said, implement the features not only for online mode, but for GT Life as well.

Especially once they add XP and Cr. gains for racing online like in GT5p.

I think we all agree with this. I just don't agree with his statement that online "does nothing for GT".

Online play is a bonus, not a necessity - in fact, I would rather have a perfectly dedicated hotlapping GT5 HD Premium modelled game than a half baked online capable version.

FM3 is the ideal platform for an online crash fest ;)

Create rooms with rules, and AIDS off, and the noobs won't come anywhere near you. I have had some GREAT races online, and haven't had ANY trouble with punters/noobs.

That's fine. My opinion, as somebody who never played GT1~4, is the polar opposite. I could honestly care LESS about off line mode. To me, it makes absolutely no sense slugging it out with a bunch of hapless AI, race after race, just to earn enough credits to buy cars. And the idea of having 2 or 3 laps to get from last to first is an insane idea that has no place in real racing. In fact, I think it does a lot to promote the 'get in front at all costs' attitude that you see from some people online. For me, the ONLY thing that matters is online racing--facing actual, living, breathing and thinking opponents. That's where the real challenge sits in my book. Offline mode to me, is just filler to earn credits.

I am glad that they are rolling out patches to fix issues that are being found. I think to complain about added content and features is spacious at best.

Also I love playing A-Spec (B-Spec is ok when I am eating or at work). I really think some of this Online enhancements will be added to single player at some point. I would love to see shadows fixed but I don't care when I am driving (only if I actually watch my B-Spec drivers). Damage is cool but at the same time I don't buy GT for wrecking cars (wish EA would bring back Demolition Derby).

The fact that more gets added to online makes me enjoy it with my friends online even more. Now they just need a free run mode. Those are how I play my rooms.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Although, there are a lot of folks here (like me) who have really looked forward to having a solid online experience with this series for a long time. I suggest not using definitives to describe your opinion of the OLR aspect as it will not end well. Don't be surprised if your thread gets locked or removed. Flame-baiting is frowned upon.

I dont get any framerate issues or tearing tbh.

Online however is pretty pointless without any method of tracking progress and development. It needs an online XP to give purpose to racing.

Fair enough, I've got a fast Internet connection and I haven't even played online. I see Gran Turismo as a game to play alone to get the money and buy cars to do certain races, and tune the cars up. Racing with AI is fun, and racing against the clock is fun as hell as well!

All I do when I think of "online" in GT5 is...

This is true. But I would hate to think they sacrificed some single player polishing in favour of getting the online going.
