I picked "no", although I'm probably somewhere between that and "meh".
There are a lot of things that makes GT6 the ultimate GT; the physics engine, the graphics engine, the sounds (somewhat, sometimes), the amount of different races, the improvement made to (a lot of) Standards. All of these, and probably some I've forgotten, makes GT6 the best GT there ever was.
But somehow, it still fails to tickle me.
The physics engine, while being a big improvement from GT5, still feels off to me. The weight transfer is still the best of all the console racers (have not played, and probably will not play, Forza 5), but I'm not too sure of the tire model.
For instance; When going through a corner I can feel the weight shift through the wheel, but I can't really sense the traction, and thus have a really hard time judging how fast I can go through corners. Maybe I'm having a problem with my Fanatec PWTS, although the sense of weight and weight shift is impeccable.
The graphics engine can present some stunning looking scenery, but it does come at the price of low fps and screen tearing. Although nowhere near as bad as with GT5.
I also can't get over the feeling that the tuning upgrades are far too few, and that although suspension, brakes and tire choice has a fundamental impact on performance, they do not affect PP.
I really wanted to like this game. So much so that I bought the Aniversary Edition, even though I'd promised myself I wouldn't after my feeling of disappointment with GT5.
Maybe I'll grow to like it, but right now I feel I have to force myself to play just to warrant the expense, and that's never a good feeling.
