Do you want endurance racing (longer than 24 minutes) to be put back into GT6?

It costs something like a billion credits to buy every car in GT6.

At 1 million per race, I need to run 1,000 24-hr races to get them.
It's not about realism, it's about being able to actually use all those advertised cars.
You can run the 24 minute races...:gtpflag:

I have all cars in the game since (?) months ago, and a lot of them, mainly my favorites and the 20.000.000 ones, more than once. 80% of them (not every copy of the Miata and Skyline cars) are fully tuned and equipped with all possible gear and tires and whatever the game offers. Earned some 930 mil credits and every time I hit the 50 mil mark I buy some more expensive cars.

A few weeks ago I started a second account and did the game all over again. This time using clutch and H shifter when possible. I'm at 98% (I can't drift, so I did not do the coffee breaks, except the cones), finished moon, Goodwood, Senna, Vettel, Sierra... and I already have over 200 cars and I did only a few Nurburg 24' races, just to see the Ring appear as my favourite circuit. At bonus 5 the payout is already 614.000 for 1/2 hour race !

Since I drove over 100,000 Km on the Ring, I must have done that race way over a thousand times (with some 600 cars so far), - you are right there - but it is only 24' each time.

...mostly due to PD being able to blame it on the PS3's hardware limitation, if push came to shove. Think about it: With the new physics models, the machine has a whole lot more of calculations to make, so if they mantained the normal (series long) formula it would get pretty heavy by the 12-24 h long mark.

I'm puzzled by this idea that longer races require a more powerful console. Or even that the power requires increases during the race, as the bolded text implies.

Sure, a 24 hour race requires 60x the amount of calculations when compared to a 24 minute race. However, it has 60x the amount of time to do the work, so it's a wash.

Maybe I'm missing the point?

But myself and a likely large portion of players won't be racing up 100,000km at the Ring.

There was a money glitch in GT6 early on, I haven't worried about it.

Oh please, not the limitations of the PS3 again. We didn't have any trouble with 24 hour races in GT5 did we? Yes, you are missing the point. The game only needs to keep track of the track used and the current position of the cars present at any point in time. Maybe a tiny bit more for total time and lap count, but that would be negligible if any at all. Sure it would take more hard drive space for the recording, but the game is still writing to disk the same amount of information per given amount of time for 1 lap or 100.

Point taken.
But nobody forces you (or others) to do that, you just can...

I personally would love to drive the 24 hour races. With realistic AI, weather, damage and regulations, I would find it enjoyable. Just need mid-race saves as well. Races like the Dubai 24, Spa 24, LM24 and races like those would be interesting. Would also improve my driving qualities in the game.
Here's my full opinion in blog form.

^ sure. It's already available in arcade mode. I just set up a 40 lap event at Sierra. That's 671.10 miles. I ran half the first lap and found the AI competitive. You can adjust the AI to your liking as well. It didn't appear to have fuel consumption or tire wear, but most ASpec events don't anyway.

I'd prefer PD work on other features.
How many credits did you win for 40 laps?

PD would have heaps of data showing exactly what people played

no doubt few people played endurance races so they took them out

GT6 wants to be more 'inclusive' of players of all kinds and all skill levels so it wants to remove the stuff that most people did not play

eg. I wasnt a big fan of endurance races but i did like the stories of people here who drove the ring for hours on end

that 'extremism' i like even though i may not participate

PD removing these hardcore elements to make GT6 appeal to noobs as it were, makes sense
Baffles me that more people spent time trying to see how many orange-cones they could knock over. smh

So you agree exactly with what I said. I am not missing the point, yet you say I am.

WTF!

I voted yes, but I"m on the fence. I only want to see them come back if 1)They actually set it up as a race instead of just passing cars (like everything is now) and 2) I can race along side my B-spec like in GT4.

Sorry Possum, quoted the wrong post. I am with you in all the needless blame the PS3 for GT's shortcomings. We had plenty in 5 that we don't have in 6 and lots of games are doing things that GT doesn't all on the same hardware 👍

If they patch the whole single player AI with the one that exist in last 2 months seasonal A-spec races, I would have no problem at all as long as the 1st car would go full speed from 1 lap and not only when it's passed.
