To be able to select "X1" and any X1 can enter..
"F40" - any F40 can enter, etc...
Pink ones, green ones... 50% power limited ones... crazy horn honking ones...

Why did you start another thread about this?

The are quite clearly separate topics. Also, you posted to this one before I even finished posting the poll.

I thought there was an option to have a One Model race online?
BUT with opening tuning & parts modification...

They are very closely related, enough so that you probably could have included the poll in your original thread. 👍

No the topics aren't really separate, at least not clearly as they basically ask for the same thing.
You do know that's already possible to do right now don't you? Just label a room with a specific car and you can kick anyone who doesn't abide.

What's the point of making it one-car-only, if tuning is not also limited?
It would serve little purpose, and there's not much need for a host enabled rule for such a thing either since there isn't much use for it in competitive online racing.

If, however, everything could be restricted, down to which suspension settings could be adjusted, or what the camber is set at, then it would have a use.

I've always wanted to make a one-model series in a public room with cars besides the ones in the arcade list.

Let me specify the exact car, let me specify the exact tuning, and let me specify the exact setup options I'll allow people to change. Let them pick a colour and race in a totally fair and unquestionable race without any hassle.

You can restrict the race to a car you own in your garage, or multiple cars.

Unless I have missed something it only lets you do that with the list of arcade garage cars.

Nope you can select a car, or cars, from your garage. I did it with the 3 Nascars I owned. Made them the only select able cars, and had a race.

How did you do that?

I want to know how you do that too.
Has anyone been able to share their cars for an online race?

I'm pretty sure I know what Doncowleone is referring to, although I've not yet tested how it works myself. You go to the car restrictions section, and pick "select from garage." It's right next to all the other options, like recommended cars only/karts only. I saw it the very first time I looked at the menus, it's not exactly hidden.

I'm sure there are some drawbacks(this is GT5 after all) like the obvious of all being the same color/all having to start with the host's setup, but at least you can have a level playing field that way if it works as it says. I've wanted to try it out for the longest time but just never seem to get to it.

If you choose that option it asks you which of the arcade list of cars you want to make available. You cannot select cars from your own garage afaik.

Yep you're right(I'll take your word that the arcade list is the same as the recommended list, since it doesn't matter anyway), I finally had a chance to turn the game on and look. It's very clear about what it says, but what it says is a lie. Well done yet again, PD.

I race with a group of friends who do this, it just requires some honesty on everyones part. It does make for some close racing.

There aren't any restrictions you can set for this unfortunately.

When i did it for a Nascar race it opened my Garage, and all I saw were my cars. I selected the 2-3 Nascar cars I had at the time. Then any participants had to choose from the cars I selected.

Interesting, I saw two COTs, one of which I didn't own.

I just checked it, and it gives me a list of Recommended cars. I never thought to check if they were my cars or not. I have a substantial garage of cars I own, and therefore didn't think to look for cars they would not have in Arcade mode.

So when you choose "Select from Garage" it opens the Recommended list in the Garage interface window. Zonda R at the top.
