I will be holding off until I get reports of how much content/races/events/championships the game has. Then general reports on it, if these are positive, then I might get it. Certainly won't be pre ordering it.

Will that work though? If anything, we've seen how radically GT5 changed. Even if GT6 doesn't get very positive feedback, it might change over time with numeroys updates...
I would get it regardless so I just went ahead and preordered it. I wouldn't be able to wait much longer after the 6th due to the new platform releases. I hope that gt6 will tide me over until the gen 2 systems come out and drop on price a bit.

That's why I'm going to wait a bit. If it's bad to start of with, I won't get it (until it has been improved enough to make it worth getting). If it isn't too bad I might get it Christmas/New Year, if it is getting good reviews I will get it just after it releases. If

I had too much anticipation for GT5. I was at Walmart at 11:50pm and was the first to make the midnight purchase. I took vacation time tied into the Thanksgiving holiday to only be disappointed. I played for 3 straight weeks and stopped. I have only touched it 2-3 times since. I can wait til I see reviews or not purchase GT5.5 at all.
Well I just found out that I can get my hands on cars limited to specific regions like the Red Bull X2010 5G and the purple Gillette Camaro so GT5's still got a bit of life in it yet
Well for me... I think GT5 is my newest or second newest out of my collection of 9 disc. I have downloaded little games, but those are only fun for a week.
I'm not "dying" for it but I am more than ready for it. GT5's given me 3 years of enjoyment - apparently half finished too - so GT6 should blow my mind! I bought Grand Theft Auto 5 on release day hoping it would hold me over till GT6 came out, I was wrong, after a about a little over a month of it I was done.
Good or bad though, I still prefer buying it (or any game) on or around release date. I really don't trust game review sites, they can be a little biased at times, so I'll use my own judgement, not some guy that plays RPG's or FPS games for a living!
I wish it was out now so I could give my full attention. With PS4 arriving 29 Nov here there will be some more attention on that. Having said that, with no new racing game to play since NFSMW I am chomping at the bit to get going with my favorite racing series.

I agree with this. I really like to make up my own mind about stuff that is subjective, too - and in the end, a lot of the game is subjective - one person's meat being another person's poison. The hype-train will go both ways, so I'll just pick-it up the day it hits the shelves (or might pre-order a copy - just not got around to going down to EB or another store around here - there's major retail every few blocks.)

I also like getting it before the internet gets flooded with vids and whatnot. When I got GTA5, my wife brought it home late at night, so it was out pretty much a day before I got my hands on it - I stayed away from the internet that whole time, I didn't want anything to be spoiled, I want to be that spoiler .
That's actually pretty sharp thinking. It's already been a little spoiled by the pre-debris scattered around. Would have been actually nice if we didn't know anything at all and it was sprung on us (New Game! GT6!)
Marketing, marketing, marketing . . . . spread the word. But it's a necessary evil; everyone has to be persuaded with clips, and adjectives, and a certain modicum of 'cool' so that they will actually buy it.
Some of us will buy it just because it's the next GT. It comes next. We have to play it. For better or for worse, but we hope for the better.
Pre-ordered ages ago, but delivery by Father Christmas and in view of the need for marital harmony probably won't play it much before early January, if at all!
I can't wait for it to get here,
