The "exclusive" cars in the US Collectors Edition are BLAH. I did not buy the Collectors Edition for intangible things. I bought it for the real things.

At this point in time, ALL of the cars originally made for the game, including Schick Camaro and the Joey Logano GameStop Camry NASCAR Cup Car, should have been given to all of us. They are all part of the original release of the game.

Expecting people to purchase the same product 3 or 4 times from different retailers AND COUNTRIES just to get an exclusive virtual "thing" is pretty arrogant. If the real world cared about the billions of dollars the video game industry is raking in, these sort of unfair business practices would be scrutinized.

The gaming industry needs to be "occupied"!

How would you feel if the air conditioning in your real car had a lock on it which required you to purchase a key? Or buy the next trim level up just to be able to use something that is already part of your car?

N.A had it unfair without a Signature Edition, that's pretty bad. I think those complaining that they weren't able to acquire it when it was available to them (such as not enough money/whatever) should not be complaining (the same way an average citizen doesn't have the money to buy a 5 million dollar yacht). People at N.A had no opportunity on SE, pretty unfair. However I can perfectly understand why CE/SE owners could be fussed about their exclusive content being suddenly available, and that's why I have mixed feelings on this subject. Oh well, you can't please everyone.

I have the collectors edition and wouldn't mind paying for the stealth pack.
I voted other. I too have the CE because PD/Sony did not think we were worthy of a SE here in NA..... Saying that, I hope they unlock the chromelines because I don't care (personally) and many people I know will buy them. I simply would like to have all the cars for my collection.

We got the NSX and GT-R for free, why not sell each Stealth, Gamestop Fantasy Nascar, and Edge Camaro SS individually??

How would you feel if Porsche charged you money to take parts off your Boxster?
Win. :p

How would you feel if a car manufacture charged you more for a less efficient transmission? That happens too. :)
How about a car manufacture that charges more for extra content in your car? What an absurd concept! :dopey:

There are a few new editions around from a few UK online sellers, and a few used one's with the codes redeemed for not that much less
Leftovers. (of a limited supply)

I seem to remember that Porsche have done that, when they sold various Club Sport models - which were lighter, had less equipment. Was it the 911 CS back in the last 80s

If memory serves correctly the only model that bucked that trend was the 968 CS

Sure I'd love to have them, all cars should be available to all customers and I have the collectors edition.

Something I can't figure out is why all the Yes options have a $15 price tag? Are you insane?

$15 - I've explained this several times in previous posts on this thread

insane - possibly

How much would you price 6 Chromeline or 6 Stealth cars for DLC?

I honestly think that if they had made them available at day one that they could've sold the pack for $20.00 Or much like the DLC bundle, do a limited time offer at a low price with another add-on pack for a few months.

And since the game has been out for over a year now, I could care less if they made the Chrome Line cars available, free or as dlc.

People getting this wadded up over a game boggles my mind. It's a game, I personally could care less about the cars. I bought the Collectors Edition for the extras outside of the disk.

Those cars should be FREE. They were all on the disc when it shipped. The precedent has been set with giving away the Stealth GT500 GTR and NSX.

No problem with the stealth cars being free since other than the signature edition (which got all of them AND the Chromeline cars) all retailers were giving the cars away for free (but you could at most only receive 2 at once). Chromeline cars though may be a different issue.

Inferno251
I'm pretty sure they are sold in limited quantity (don't know how many, though)

The SE in Aus was absolutely limited, sold out faster than my ex wife goes through dodgy men, and that's fast!!!

It sold out on pre-order too, didn't even hit the shelves AFAIK.

i pre-ordered the collectors edition almost one full year prior to the release (oh i remember the agony of the delays). i was ecstatic to receive a nice starting garage of exclusives when i first started and loved driving my new "proper" cars without slaving away with the first beater when i didn't feel like it(honda civic type r).

i have mixed feelings about PD releasing of the chrome line and the stealth cars as DLC. i had anticipated they would eventually get released (thus my reason for not ebaying the stealth SLS, which i'm still missing). its somewhat surprising that they have remained exclusives even to this day. while having something that others do not does make my cars a bit more special, but i think those who want to have the opportunity to purchase them should be able to.

we are all car enthusiasts at the end of the day, and GT is a way to experience cars in a way that most of us may never be able to afford to in real life. as such i would rather my stealth mclaren and chromeline blue murcielago be accessible for those who missed out on the collector/signature editions. i would hate for someone to miss out on having these in their garage just because i want to feel special about some digital game.

besides, if you want to make a car "your very own", then do some rims, aero kit, and new paint job. so far i haven't seen anyone with exactly the same enzo or skyline that i have built up in my garage.

Speaking of some debates in here:

When I deleted and re-installed my game data last week....:)

I had to DOWNLOAD the Stealth NSX and GT-R.
So much for being on my game disc, huh? :p

The download size for the Chrome Line Jaguar XJ13 was 100kb
so, at that size, was the car already installed?

Don't know. Still had to download, that was the entire argument I heard against it.
"Because you don't have to download, it's already on the disc." "shrug" I had to download them.

I still think the crucial factor is that they're not regular cars "excluded" from the game, but rather very clearly designed to be "extra content" from the start.
If they weren't designed to be extra content, I don't think they would exist at all. That's the separating difference.
It's not quite the same as if they were to charge extra for regular cars that they held out of release, just to charge as DLC even though they were in the game already.

I think that they will be released as DLC at some point, as I don't think that it take very much 'effort' to facilitate their release.

However, the more other DLC cars and tracks are provided, the less interested their will be for these - apart from those who want every car, and I'm one of thoese that wants every car that I can (and yes I do realise that it is unlikely that I'll use then all - I've just started adding notes on the Matrix which cars I've used .... how very sad of me!!)

They are exclusives, let it stay that way. I only have the F1 Stealth, used it twice. Couldn't really be bothered to get these cars as they just have a different look. If everybody could buy them nobody would find them special anyway.

I would rather just want more modern cars in the game. Good news is the Aventador arriving.

That would be a kick in the nuts for those who bought the CE, so Stealth and Chromeline cars are exclusive for those who paid more for them and it should be like that always.

It seems as though everyone who has an interest, has voted and had their say. So although a few weeks left until it closes, thought I'd sum up now.

Interesting:
1. More voted 'No Way' (113) than Yes Please (101), however 17 voted 'other'
2. 45 not bothered

On balance, if PD did release these as DLC, then many players would be against this, with quite a few feeling quite hostile about. A significant proportion, however, would love to have these cars - mainly because availability was limited, with some versions completely unavailable to some players.

Looks like PD should re-think the strategy when releasing GT6. CE/SE should have been available everywhere in the world, some feel unhappy to have content unavailable to them.

Some players, love to collect every car. But if cars are exclusive - then they need to remain so.

Thank you to everyone who contributed.

So in other words you're mad that there wasn't a landslide vote for "yes." 👍

I don't have them and to be fair couldn't care less, there nice to look at especially the 787B but if they did bring them out as DLC they should give people who already own them something special for buying the special edition in the first place.

This would include financial unavailability as well as "geographical", in my opinion (and what of limited numbers? I.e. greater demand than supply.)

But then, it's a fine line. I'd argue that exclusive content shouldn't exist at all (in an ideal world), then there would be no such argument of whether it should remain exclusive. Ironically, the lack of a SE in the US made it geographically exclusive; there's that fine line again.

Good stuff. 👍

Not at all, I have them all already!

I can't get a couple of US DLCs, would like them, but not even remotely 'mad' about not having them!!

I don't care for the stealth and chromeline cars, people who pre ordered it too feel special should remain like that. Id rather the put more new cars into gt5.

I bought the signature edition in Australia, and thus have all stealth and chromeline cars. I pre-ordered the SE well in advance, and love that I have in-game exclusives that those who didn't pre-order and fork out three times the cash don't.

However, I can also see the other side of the argument. I don't have the Joey Logano GameStop #20 NASCAR, or the Chevrolet Camaro SS “Edge Special”. I'd have loved to have been given the opportunity to get these two geographically restricted (to the US) cars and would have pre-ordered my SE from GameStop if Australia had GameStop, and if said stores were participating in the promo; this was not the case, nor were we included in the Edge promotion. I can understand that these were promotional and only available in certain regions, and I also feel that keeping this exclusivity for these two cars is important to those who received them.

So, I understand both points of view, but have to say that "No, they should definitely be kept as exclusive content."

I paid and pre-ordered my Signature Edition and those cars should still be exclusives (Chromes and Stealth). Different will be if PD releases a paint colour pack with the same layers to everyone.
If PD release a DLC with Stealth and Chrome cars i won´t buy it at all. Even if it is a pack with 10 cars and one Stealth.

Yeah it just wouldn't be fair on the guys that paid a hundred quid for the sig edition plus it would put them off buying more "exclusive" content in the future. If PD feel so strongly and feel bad for everyone who missed out coz supply was so low they could always make a few million more and sell at the same price then its fair everyones a winner.
