I have 2 reasons why I'm very excited. First, I could be racing the Carrera down the NYC track or have it screaming down the Citta De Aire. Second, if Porsche could get in, there's a very good chance for other big euro car companies like Ferrari to be in. Looks like Microsoft isn't the only one with enough $$ to steal rights to cars :p And wasn't the M series EA only? We got the M5 concept :lol: :D
 
The fact that GT4 has a European car doesn't mean other manufacturers will just jump aboard. It on a case by case basis.
 
Where is it verified that Porsche is in GT4? Did I miss the memo?
 
I bet KY said Porsche meaning Ruf.This poll is a waste of time as I wont believe anything until I have GT4 in my PS2 unlike Cobragt :rolleyes:

Porsche is in according to this mag. "Porsche will at last make its debut."
 
RUF = porsche, correct? :confused:

i always thought so, they have same car names and look indentical, either way im happy with both
 
RUF is a Porsche tuner, just like Spoon is a Honda tuner. "Porsche" proper most likely won't be making an appearance.

Not quite. You see, if you were to order a car from RUF, you would register it as a RUF too, and not like a Porsche. That is because RUF builds new cars from the ground up, using some Porsche parts as a basis for a new car. The chassises they use get their serial numbers from RUF, and not Porsche (and making the cars technically RUFs).

They do however also tune Porsches, in which a customer brings his Porsche to RUF and tells them what to do. RUF rebuilds the car, but this time around the car has a Porsche serial number, making it technically a Porsche, despite getting the RUF logo and model designation (depending on what car the customer gets rebuilt).
 
I don't want Porsche in the game, i would rather have Ruf. Faster cars = better
 
EA Sports merely had the rights to all the M Cars built AT THAT TIME. Since the M5 Concept was not in existance then, then they couldn't have the rights to it.
 
Im sure that magazine pulled a cheap trick by calling RUF, Porsche RUF and getting every1 all excited. Look at the pic of the CTR2, Porsche RUF? They should give RUF a little more respect and not do that, RUF earned there right to be a recognised seperate car manufacturer from Porsche. But the 5 european supercars i really want to see in are the Mercedes SLR Mclaren, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferarri F40 (oldskool out of control turbo power), Ferrari F50 and of course the Mclaren F1 Road Car. JUst imagine this line up on the circuit.

1.Porsche Carrera GT
2.Mercedes SLR Mclaren
3.Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3
4.Ferrari F50
5.TVR Speed 12 (not newer cerbera speed12)
6.Mclaren F1

Itd be a tasty race.

911_Carrera will look forward to racing in a Carrera GT.
But i doubt porsche will make it in teh game. Does anyone know if Ruf have got their hands on the Carrera GT yet?

Ruf is nothing like Spoon sports, a Spoon sports Civic is still a Honda Civic, an Ruf 3400 (the one like the Boxster) is an Ruf 3400S and it isn't a Porsche Boxster, I'll let someone else go into the details. And Ruf can't use the Carrera GT which is why they have built their own 600+Bhp MR supercar to kick the Carrera's proverbial.
 
I did a search, and found something vaguely similair to the Carerra GT but it didn't have the things behind the heads.
 
Ruf, according to German Law, is a car manufacturer, not a tuner. So, PD doesn't have to ask Porsche for jack squat.
 
Yeah that magazine article's messed up, on one hand it says that Porsche will FINALLY make it's debut into GT4, but it seems like they meant RUF, which was already in GT3.
 
Porsche has to be in. They wouldnt say ruf was finally in, seeing it's already in gt4. Porsche is in!
 
But they also said that "many European exotic cars that have been sorely missed in the series, such as Porsche, will make their debut." How many "sorely missed" Euro exotic companies are there out there? And keep in mind that the GT series is the most popular and profitable racing series in the market. PD and Sony can afford to buy the rights from EA. I think Ferrari, Porsche, and other companies will make it.

*edit* one of the mods should make a thread about the age old question of "What exactly is Ruf? Tuner or manufacturer?"
 
Not all are imo exotics, but then imo Porsche isn't exotic, far too common to be exotic.

I got a feeling Ferrari will make it. Dont forget, they want to be in anyway. Sony needs to do the same thing Microsoft did for pgr2. Get those damn cars! Imagine a 360, a F50, or a enzo in gt4!! They would looks so damn pretty and look realistic as hell because we know who are putting ;). If they dont make it, I'll cry, if they make it I'll cry. Either way, I'm going to be crying when I get gt4 lol.

If Ferrari won't be in, how come I saw one of them (F355) it on a picture in Twin-Ring Motegi during testing of all the cars for GT4. :confused:
 
If they get a good bulk of 'exotic Europnean Manufacturers' it woudl be good to have a best of the 'supercars race'. Who would win, Enzo, mclaren, Carrera GT, Ford GT..etc?

Because... they were testing it?

Testing a car - even photographing and modelling it - isn't a guarantee it'll be in the game. Remember the CLK-GTR from GT2 which was actually featured in screenshots in magazine reviews?

Yamauchi has long stated his wish to have Ferrari in the game. The testing was just a reflection of his desire - besides, they might get into GT5, 6, 7 and so on. Saves photographing them again.
 
The Ferrari more then likely belonged to someone who was there for the vent, they didn't necessarily bring it to be photographed.
 
Ferrari themselves want to be in. I want to see the Enzo :D
 
The thing is, people keep going on about exclusive licences, yes Ferrari want to be in, but who owns the exclusive licence? Is there even an exclusive licence anymore? EA used to own one, I don't think they still own it, but the you hear that SEGA own it, well if SEGA owned it, Ferrari would be in SGT2002 online. All we can do is speculate until somthing is confirmed by the manufacturer or the game developer.
 
How in the hell did pgr2 get ferrari? Microsoft had to buy the rights and maybe sony bought the porsche rights.
