I really hope they are in the game but it seems a little presumptuous to say that porsche is included in GT4 when in the same article a Ruf CTR2 is described as a Porsche Ruf.

I think i'll wait for some stronger evidence than that. But here's hoping!
 
Just to make a quick comment, sometimes, I heard of "Ruf Porsches." You know, a different company makes a car with styling based on another company. Imagine that...
 
I say you guys are setting yourself up for a big disappointment. If Porsche was in GT4, we would have heard it ten times over, by now.

I'd bet at the least... One of the big three will be in. They did say they would delay if that would get them in...

It rings alarm bells. Buuuut, I wont cry if they arn't.

Yea and gt4 still hasn't met a release date. It was suppose to come out last year in Dec but it didn't. They said it would make a Jan release, hmmm... Then a Feb release, meh. I believe Porsche along side other Euro automakers are in. Imasaki said he wanted to stop ppl from coming up and asking, where is this car. PPl have been asking for Ferrari, I know this and Porsche. Those 2 including lambo are most the most wanted cars in a GT game and PD knows this.
 
well, supposed - they haven't really mentioned dates themselves, retailers have just been guessing a lot. :D
 
Well heres my facts..... Release date Dec 2003... didnt happen now its 2004 TBA.... all the other release dates feb, march, april, may etc... are not confirmed by Sony or PD there guessing from places such as blockbuster, amazon, etc... THEY ARE NOT OFFICIAL DATES so please oh please stop it with the "oh they said april release" cuz it isnt gonna happen... Porsche on the other hand is NOT CONFIRMED... again I repeat NOT CONFIRMED, in the article it did say Porsche Ruf, not Porsche but Porsche Ruf... most likely referring too the Rufs that have been in the GT games... Now they did say "Our goal is to stop people from coming up to us on the street and saying, 'Hey, where's this car?" That stil doesnt mean Porsche Ferrari and Lambo's are in the game.... until more hardcore facts such as *Cough* Pics, official staement from PD/Sony *cough* I wont belive it until I see it... IMO I wont jump to conclusions here but I think that maybe PD did work out a deal with them but wont say anything until either E3 or when the games about to come out, just to give it a little kick so that consumers like us will get more excited and go and get the game and have them say "hey, porsche is in" then have us wait a year for the game to be released.... they did say...

"Anticipation of the upcoming launch of GT4, in terms of the title's quality, is obviously a plus. However, I also feel that it is not good to keep players waiting for too long"

So to me they may have made a deal but wont spill the beans, maybe not until like I said E3 or before release, just so we wont have to "wait" for so long... But other than that... I wont get excitied about Porsche being in unless I see a car with its logo on it and/or the game is in my PS2 and im looking right at there logo in the game... other than that I wont hold my breathe.... but all in all if PD wants the cars in they'll deff find away to get it in the game... and they'll pay the price, because they know GT4 will be a huge seller once its out, online, hdd compatible... its deff gonna be a huge big seller and if they want to make the players happy they do everything in there power to do so..

I must agree with report. Good post man. I'm sure PD knows how much us gt nutts want ferrari or porsche in and if they are in, that will make gt4 a HUGE seller and PD knows this.
 
Just a small fact, the Koenig Testarossa is in Race driver 2, that could be a good sign that Ferrari's will be popping up in other games now, including we all hope, GT4.

PD does sympathise with us, KY said somewhere in the GamePro interview that he wants to get the game out to the public since he doesn't want to keep us waiting, or something like that.

Yea, but I'll wait for gt4 if it's for a good purpose, like getting the desired Euro automakers.
 
KY will definitley delay if they get something like Ferrari at the very last minute. I think everyone here can agree that a delay of that nature would be a good thing.
 
I believe that's why gt4 hasn't got a release date. I believe ferrari might be in. I'll bet on it.
 
Well an F40 would be nice, but I can't say I'm that bothered about Ferrari or Porsche. Although it would be nice to see a well rendered 944 or 911 'Flatnose' in GT4.

I'd really like to see lambos make it, especially the Countach, Diablo & Miura :)
 
Yea, lambo needs to be in but I doubt they want in, remembers the gt3 situation :( But I got high hopes for porsche and ferrari. They need to be in and everyone wants them in and PD knows this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But still sceptical...

Anyway, I still think that the number of available cars will be sufficient and that I'd rather want PD spend time on other new track design than car franchise purchasing.

I really can't find any pleasure now playing the Deep Forest or Trial Montain... feel so arcadish..

Please give us more real tracks.. and keep Porsche and Ferrari for GT5 or 6 ... when car modeling will be even more perfect and sound engine powerfull enough to give a PGR2 like sound...
 
I would also prefer MORE tracks. I bet they are lazy and just use old tracks AGAIN, sigh. ofc I don't mind em being there, as long as they back em up with newer tracks, also stop making em all so damn boring! hehe
 
I'm sure there will be awesome track in, like the peaks climb. I'll hit that witht the Model T :lol: But the main attraction of gt4 is the number of cars it will have.
 
I'm going to change my mind. The thing I would like to see most in GT4 is new tracks, and not racing mods as I said numerous times before. The reason is simple; I don't like playing GT3 anymore.

In the past 5 months, I've played about 12-14 hours of GT3, when I used to play that much in one week. It's getting boring. The reason is the tracks available. I've been playing most of them since GT2, and some in GT. It's time for a big change in track selection.

I'm happy to hear about the new tracks in GT4. I hope some pics of the new Japanes track we heard about two months ago get released soon. I'll be more excited about new tracks, then cars since there are so many already "confirmed" in The 359's list.
 
PD better have at list one of this three Porsche, Lamborghini or Ferrarri. Is been long enough. The online experience should be a dream, the car selection better be impressive both on size and variety. Don't wanna see a bunch of Lancers anymore and cars I didn't knew about, that I was better not knowing about them. And the game better be released on September. STOP DELAYING!If you want the D@m cars then get them if you don't try on GT5. For the long wait you better provide a masterpice.

PD won't pay for the cars they want them cheap. How come Microsoft got them, and they have been arroud for a few years. The Gran Turismo franchise has been arround many years and still we don't have them. We been left waiting because PD is cheap!!! I haven't had a decent game to play on my playstation in years. I'm sure I will enjoy the game, but if the game slips any further than September. PD will be forever known to me as the bicentennial game developer. The cars are not worth the wait. Deliver the goods!!! and for the wait get at list one. Never again make us wait for the top 3 European Exotics as you have claimed in some articles. Instead of delaying for those 3 and releasing a busness card that says

"Don't forget about us we are working hard on a game that is going to come out a year after we say it will ".

And in top of that only in Japan.

Deliver the game and when you get the cars release a card that says "Here it is to all our devoted fans that have been with us all the time".

This is the main reason why I still haven't achieve the 100% goal...

Boring tracks + crap AI + too much money = fed up...

OK I still play GT3 but alone on Laguna seca and Complex.

So for the moment, I really hesitate to buy GT concept as only other cars are in... and Autumn ring was one of the worst track of GT so far..

Moreover I also do not want to get GT4p as I really expect PD to produce a real finished game now... GT3 was too "unfinished"

I'm not sure that seeing the earliest GT track in GT4 is a good thing... spend too much time on them...

One more time, PD take your time to give us the renew of GT.

(PD is lucky that other console devs do not know what driving means...)

I havn't finished for the same reason, all I really do now is 2 player, time trial's and make my GT-one do wheelies!:)

And I spend time playing GT2 racing the tracks that weren't in GT3. IMO, the best ones were the small tracks, like Seattle Short and Rome Short. If these two, plus Mini Ring, were in GT4, I would be very happy.
 
GT3 is UTTERLY DULL. If GT4 repeats the GT3 experience...I shall weep, and just play something fun. I don't fancy doing 10 lap races against DUMB ai, along boring tracks, with the kind of sensation of speed I get when walking. I want fun, and if that means less realism, it's worth it imo. And the article said "PORSCHE ruf", not "porshce." If the article is gonna be interpritated in the way you are doing so cobra, then GT4 should have EVERY car by EVERY maker ever. It clearly doesn't.

Even you SAID it, according to this MAG, note NOT PD, and I'm sure even the mag said RUF, but I can't be bothered to check.
 
It would be very clever and a good move if PD did what trEvo said and kept it a secret until just before the release, that all these supercar manufacturers are in, but were just going to have to wait until release cause nothing is definite with it until then, i still remember the GT2 CLK GTR thingy and the GT3 Diablo & Porsche GT3 cockup.
 
I think one of the best thing's that could be added to GT4 is most definitely variable conditions for all tracks. Based on realistic climate conditions for the real tracks that is.

Imagine being able to select dry/wet/snow/fog before racing on whichever track. That would simply be amazing, driving Cote D'Azur in the wet, or Trial Mountain in fog... Midfield raceway in snow etc.

Even if it's just choosing between wet/dry for all tracks that would be enough.

Could also add the ability to do all tracks in reverse instead of just a select few.. that would add even more variation to the game without taking up too much work :)

I couldn't really care less whether Porsche/Ferrari/Lamborghini are in the game, it wont suck because they aren't in. We are talking about the best driving game ever and people are saying it's gonna be crap if x manufacturer isn't in it? There will be plenty of cars, far more than GT3... it will be amazing :P
 
Variable weather would be great, but KY has said that there won't be variable weather, but there will be more wet tracks. Mind you, that was before Christmas, so it might just make it, but I doubt it will.
