You should do a poll....gt_mastaSo now that both have been around for some time now, what are the flaws/strong points of each one? Why buy one or another? Which one is the best?
Debate!
Maybe... but I want people to say WHY one is better than the other and not just say PSP > DS and vote. I want reasons. You should do a poll....![]()

the psp uses all new technonlogy, when nintendo heard off what sony where planning, they thought that the psp will take over the handheld market, so they paniced. The ds has been rushed and been filled with old technology, the psp can go online using wi-fi, thats new in the handheld market.
And what's wrong with paying for gameplay? Back when there were a lot of fun games, these games had crapy graphic, but we had FUN. Now, gameplay generally sucks ( there is some exceptions ), but the graphics are great. I'd rather have great gameplay than just good graphics. Take EA games for example, goldeneye was marvelous, but now the graphics are "bad". But it's still an excellent game, and even better when you play with 3 friends. But EA gave the new goldeneye good graphics, but the game sucks, mostly because the gameplay is bad. And between those two, the best game is the old goldeneye IMO.LaBountithe 2d games look just like GBA. The 3d games look like crap(worse than n64) So what you are paying for is gameplay.

Good graphics can't make a good game alone. Gameplay can make a good game alone IMO.
I like to see things change, and evolve, GTA hasn't. That's all the PSP has going for it right now as far as games. Everything else is a watered down port, point blank.
The Nintendo DS is anything BUT traditional
Revolution.I would prefer a PSP over a DS, mainly because of my taste in games. The DS has very few games that I am interested in, and the PSP has GTA LCS, soon to have GT4 Mobile, plus a bunch of other stuff.
And in my opinion, the touch screen is a gimmick.
donbenniYes strangely enough, games are all about gameplay. Bit of spit and polish never hurts though.
Right. PSP:
+ Acts as a portable media device as well as a gaming machine. Looks better. Games look better generally. Wifi.
- Is fragile. I spent more time cleaning it than playing it. Wifi browsing is overrated. Game selection is just what you get on the PS2, but more expensive and not as good looking. Not as fun as the DS. Just like to reiterate, the games are rediculously expensive considering brand new PC games are coming in around a 1/4 to a 1/3 cheaper.
DS:
+ Innovative - the touch screen gaming is good. It's Fun. Build like a toy brick. Online gaming is apparent very fun, especially Mario Kart.
- Some games look really rubbish. A lot games are just N64 games, but more expensive. Worse game selection than the PSP. Build like a toy brick.
Conclusion. Chalk and cheese.
PSP is worth the money for the console if you think you'll use all the additional features, but the games are unfortunately too expensive to warrant buying which defeats the point. Big pockets needed.
DS is a fun, cheap, gaming machine, but it suffers from bad game selection.
I hate ports, I own them at home and enjoy them
