TripleA5Newest addition to the collection. A 1986 Pontiac Firebird Trans am, got it the past weekend. But since there are none in my area that are the right year and price. V8, t-tops. It has been repainted by previous owner but its really well done. only problems were hood pistons dont hold well, rear tires were badly cracked and exhaust leaks.

Lol if my engine cover is making you depressed I think you should see a doctor. That's depressing. So much plastic you can't even see the engine.
Gorgeous R32.

Thanks Katiegan. I have just had confirmation of what you said. It is Chrome plating and I might as well just get a set of new vintage wheels. It is somewhat disappointing but thanks for the prompt response.
That's a fantastic winter beater. For several reasons. Mainly because it's an Insight and I love the Insight, but also because a) It's aluminium so no rust worries, and b) because it has narrow tires and it's light weight, both of which are ideal when it snows.AeroStang parked for the winter, the new (to me) winter beater.
Just to make sure the wheels are steel and not aluminum correct? Steel you cannot polish out to look like chrome (well technically you can with the ultimate set of polishing tools, but to buy those you might as well pay someone to chrome them). Aluminum you can polish out, which I do regularly. PM me if you want tips like what type of polish to use, metal porosity and shine, etc.Does anyone know if it is possible (and how if it is) for me to personally restore my '76 Beetle Rostyle rims and take them from this:

Is it possible? I have searched everywhere and cannot find someone who has done it ..especially on the Tube of You.
Chrome paint does not work, trust me. The best chrome paint usually ends up looking like silver metallic enamel paint.@JohnyPiston If I'm not mistaken, the wheels you want are chrome, but the wheels you have are not. I'm not sure if there's some chrome paint stuff you can buy to put on them, maybe you could look into something like that. But from what I can tell, you'll be spending an awful lot of time polishing those rims to try and make them shine like that.
